I’m related. I grew up in Ky sitting on the porch in the evenings listening to the stories of old the old folks would tell, we loved Bad John Wright stories… Thank You so much.

Five wives? Where did he find the energy!!!??? It was all I could do, just keeping up with one wife, when I was married before. Very beautiful country, very interesting story. Perhaps one day, you will find his grave, and you may stumble across it, by dumb luck.
Thank you very much, Leo and Heather, for another great story. 😊

Now this on hits home. My late husbands gpa would take horses from KY and sell them in other places. Tenn, w.V Carolina's and Texas. He'd be gone for months some said he had other wives. He would hop trains and come back with horses to where he was going. He slipped and fell and the train killed him. His name was William "Grant" Lee from Kentucky. I really enjoyed this video thank you

Again I was looking forward to you getting around to this story. My grandparents knew John Wright. He really thought he was every women’s dream of a man. He made a pass at my grandmother calling her the prettiest girl in the county. I do not know if she married or not when he made his pass. Love your stories, please keep up the great work.

@@FaithHope302 no kidding.. he sounds like he is so bitter… I tried to listen to another video and he went off again on a rant cause he said McCoys were mistreated so badly… wow it’s like he wants to start it up all over again.. if you’ve watched the Mini series ( and I’m betting you did ) he sounds just like old man McCoy himself.. bitter…

Great video, beautiful scenery🤗 Although I was born and raised in Ohio I spent a lot of time in West Virginia, Kentucky, Virginia and Maryland due to family visits and working in those States in the oil field.

Another great video! The most famous court house shooting in Appalachia was probably the Carroll Co Shooting in 1912 which was the top national headline until the sinking of the Titanic. You are now getting close to where some of my Appalachian ancestors werre from. They lived in Dickenson, Wise, Scott, and Washington Co Va. My grandfather helped to build the John Flannagan dam in DIckenson Co.

Y'all must spend a lot of time doing research for your videos. W.Va.& Eastern Va. both have some really nice scenery. So do Ky.& Tn. Here in Ga., the top 20% or so,also is quite lovely. I do not live very far from the beginning of the foothills of the Appalachian's. Hard to believe that they stretch all the way to New England. While there have been & are now, some lousy folks there, most folks living in App.are really great.
