That’s pretty incredible that he won over all those seasoned, amazing actors. I saw all those performances and they were excellent, particularly those on SNL. But Luke Kirby is incredible. The way he moves, the little nervous habits and micro emotions. And he IS Bruce. I had to go back and watch old Bruce performances to compare. It’s nice that Kirby is so handsome, too.
Exactly, so cool, very charming, and interesting character. And writers, don't be restricted by history. This is fiction, create an alternate compelling story. What could have been
I had to watch the finale ofthe latest season over and over. Luke Kirby as Leny Bruce in his lecture to Rachel Brosnahan as Mrs. Maisel the empty stage at Carnegie Hal is so biting and truthful at once. Incredible performances. Hope he wind another Emmy.
I don't really know Lenny Bruce's comedy all that well and I'll admit there are times I'm not quite sure what he's talking about but when he says, "Imagine if all my teeth fell out right now." I totally could hear him say that in the show 🤷♀️
@@rosarybennett Bruce was the Fiunding Father of standup satire. Also a 1A activist wjo fought for it all the way up to the Supreme Court - and won (after his death on '66)!
I just came back after i finished the last ep of s4. And OMG do luke need to win another emmy for his last scene in the las ep with midge empowering her. HE IS AMAZING ❤
Classy speech 👏🏼 He gives me goosebumps. Not only because he’s sexy as hell but bc his talent is overwhelming. Also wtf with the Adam Sandler nom?! How was he even in the same CATEGORY with Luke Kirby? Also shout out to Rufus Sewell. He killed it in that episode. More goosebumps.
Well deserved, in the few episodes that he’s been in his performance has been amazing. He should’ve been nominated this year for his performance on episode 8 of S4, his speech on Carnegie Hall was outstanding
Poochilli Pickles - Interestingly, she pronounced the “ai” the way they do in Germany, Austria and France, the region where Yiddish was created. “Maisel” itself was an old German, French and Yiddish word with various meanings - from butcher shop to woodcutter to mouse. It intrigues me how words changed from their original pronunciations to their Americanized form. 😊
1:56 That blondie is a narcissistic... Wanted all attention to her and at that moment "faked" it was Lisa Edelstein's turn to read but then moved the card back and read it...
Very well deserved, by why does a professional actor need notes to make a two-minute speech? De Niro got nominated? Every time I've seen him on SNL his eyes have been glued to the cue cards.
Its a big moment to win an award. Theres probably a rush of adrenaline even if they’re used to being on a stage/in front of people. It’s easy to forget or skip over a name and a list makes that less likely as well as the time limit thing
Why shouldn’t he not have notes? If you’re a shy person like Luke, it helps with getting the words out for a speech. Maybe he’s just written the names of the people he wanted to thank, without him having the pressure of possibly forgetting one. Remembering lines and delivering them in character is a completely different thing to doing a speech as yourself. You can hear in his voice that he’s incredibly nervous (also, his hands are shaking at times).
Lenny would have hated those people--like all great "satirists" aristophanes juvenal swift dr johnson ... lenny at heart was deeply conservative. He could not stand the hipsters who groveled before him. Frank Hogan thought he was anti Catholic Lenny said "There is only Catholiciam -- everything else is non scheduled theology"
He's going to win again. I really can't imagine anyone else winning after his performance in Maisel season 4.
He is fucking killing it on Season 4
-The last episode of season 4, Luke Kirby lit it on fire
That last episode tho...
Couldn’t agree more!
So true! That last speech alone.
That’s pretty incredible that he won over all those seasoned, amazing actors. I saw all those performances and they were excellent, particularly those on SNL. But Luke Kirby is incredible. You know these awards shows are basically rigged ? Studios basically pay for votes
You sound thirsty AF
@Sam's Bruce was the Founding Father of standup satire. Check out his work if u got a min.
Amazon needs to make a spin off Lenny Bruce show or movie with him
YESSS
Exactly, so cool, very charming, and interesting character. And writers, don't be restricted by history. This is fiction, create an alternate compelling story. What could have been
@@renfam8183 yes if we could have abraham lincoln vampire hunter, we can alter the history here a bit lol
unfortunately this last season foreshowed his death :(
Dustin Hoffman played Lenny Bruce in a Bob Fosse biopic called Lenny (1974).
Luke did amazing job playing Lenny. I'm in love in every minute of his performance.
Christ he's Lenny Bruce all the time.
I don't really know Lenny Bruce's comedy all that well and I'll admit there are times I'm not quite sure what he's talking about but when he says, "Imagine if all my teeth fell out right now." I totally could hear him say that in the show 🤷♀️

He needs to win another Emmy for season 4 episode 8
Yes.
Absolutely! Such a powerful performance by him!
He's a babe
LAvsPORTLAND agreed.
ABSOLUTELY. And so tall
He’s so fucking money
Luke Kirby has great acting in The Marvelous Mrs Maisel: All Alone.
jwelch5742 - Look up the original of Bruce doing it on the Steve Allen Show back in the day.
I just came back after i finished the last ep of s4. And OMG do luke need to win another emmy for his last scene in the las ep with midge empowering her. HE IS AMAZING ❤
That speech was amazing
Same here!! the speech was so powerful
Agreed his speech empowered me to want to save an entire orphanage and walk an old lady across the steet. Truly some inspirational stuff!
yes yes yes, it moved me, made me cry, he is brilliant!!!
Best scene I have seen in 2 years and not just on this show
-Luke Kirby needs to win an Emmy for Season 4. He absolutely set everything on fire in episode 8
Why does this look like it’s from the 1960’s
Crystal The stage and lighting are cheaper for the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
Yea.
Because we see him so much portrayed that way... I'd assume that's why.
‘Cause it’s all white?
They gave the award to the right actor! He’s amazing in the role and I adore Mrs. Maisel!
He totally deserves this award.
In love with Kirby
Classy speech 👏🏼

They really played the music on him quick. That show has the best actors
Luke Kirby brings soulfulness and vulnerability to his characterization of Lenny Bruce. Very well-deserved Emmy!
Absolutely totally adored his performance.
Omg, Luke Kirby is as eclectic, mysterious, hot, James dean-ish in real life!!!
Well deserved, in the few episodes that he’s been in his performance has been amazing. He should’ve been nominated this year for his performance on episode 8 of S4, his speech on Carnegie Hall was outstanding
Luke Kirby as Lenny Bruce is fantastic!
He’s so handsome 😍😍😍
Why the hell has John Mulaney not made a guest apperience on Mrs Maisel yet? The man is literally from the 60's.
Now that you say it, wonderful idea
LOVE HIM LUKE KIRBY !!
Loved his performance in Rectify, brilliant series.
Applaud Luke Kirby for introducing The Great Unwashed to Lenny Bruce. Applaud The Palladino's for sending forth Luke Kirby to mime Lenny Bruce...
Fell in love with him ❤️❤️❤️
The choices were unbelievable...
Two years of this moment !!!! 💖
wow i wasnt expecting to cry
God I love this man 😢❤
hope he wins for s4ep8 too❤️
How can a guest star on SNL possibly be nominated for an Emmy Award when they so conspicuously are woodenly reading cue cards rather than acting?
MMM swept the emmys 🤗🤗 I hope they win this year again
What an elegant man
jesus. the SOUND in this! nearly lost my hearing
Why did they give him so little time to make an acceptable speech?
they give more time to more prominent categories
This one is like the six hour ceremony...they have to do all quick
Just watched mambo Italiano, he is a good actor
Loco amor
He's so damn talented
HE IS LENNY BRUCE ALL THE TIME
SHE PRONOUNCED MAISEL WRONG
Poochilli Pickles - Interestingly, she pronounced the “ai” the way they do in Germany, Austria and France, the region where Yiddish was created. “Maisel” itself was an old German, French and Yiddish word with various meanings - from butcher shop to woodcutter to mouse.

tori2dles that’s really cool!
He was so good in Mambo Italiano
He should be the new Mr. Darcy, if they ever decide to reboot the BBC series
He is so damn good
Lennyyyyy
You literally just heard how it's pronounced from the announcer, Jenny Say-Mower.
Love him 💋♥️
Peter MacNicol looks fantastic
My manz my manz my manz.
J'adore cet acteur
❤️❤️our beautiful, lovely baby
How come Michael Zegen didn’t get a nominee? But the guest actor did?? I think Michael did a great job!!
because the category is best guest actor...
Supporting actor then
Can't believe people still can't pronounce MAY-ZEL. Get it together
1:56 That blondie is a narcissistic... Wanted all attention to her and at that moment "faked" it was Lisa Edelstein's turn to read but then moved the card back and read it...
Is his dad jack Kirby ?
Very well deserved, by why does a professional actor need notes to make a two-minute speech?
De Niro got nominated? Every time I've seen him on SNL his eyes have been glued to the cue cards.
Because they have to thank some people in a certain amount of time, I think they have only one minute.
Its a big moment to win an award. Theres probably a rush of adrenaline even if they’re used to being on a stage/in front of people. It’s easy to forget or skip over a name and a list makes that less likely as well as the time limit thing

What's the difference btw "amy awards" & "primetime amay awards"?
Also I LOVE this show
I read it lube and I ...
John mulaney scares me
His anxiety gives me anxiety

Ted Bundy
Ruined by the music
It should've gone to Matt Damon.
His Lenny's not great.
