Mergim, Im glad that you are showing us that commuting can be efficient. Coz thats what Filipinos (even foreigners) need - to be encouraged to take public transport. As a local, I personally need to encouraged. I appreciate it brother. Keep this up.

Wow galing mo Mergim! We appreciate your honest observations. We need to shed light on the positives and more importantly the negatives to help improve our public transportation. This for sure is more interesting content than mundane topics. Just be safe and not be so trusting of strangers. Filipinos are genuinely caring and thoughtful but you never know who you will encounter.

10:06 I believe the MRT 1 started construction on October 1996 and back then the entire Bay city area where the Mall of Asia is still being reclaimed. Honestly it's a missed opportunity and lack of urban planning. The Edsa station at Pasay should have been a huge interchange which connects both LRT & MRT line with proper hall & walkways similar to the Grand Central Station that is currently being built at North Edsa.

Mergim, welcome to the common people's commuter daily travel. Hehehe. A little bit of advise when you are there in the street below the MRT South Terminal, be triple careful of your wallet, phone, and camera. There are lots of looters/muggers there. It is somewhat similar as well there in Guadalupe. Even we local are having our days quarreling with those barkers who always squeezes passenger in a jeep or bus. You don't want to experience the rush hour transportation squeeze here, believe me. Just enjoy and always stay safe always, okay!

When you do public transportation they usually fill it up as much as they can so they can make profit. They don’t leave until it is full. If they don’t fill it up they don’t make a profit. That is one of the inconveniences of public transportation. Always ask around like what you are doing.

that front next to the driver is empty seats. It is much better to sit right next to the driver the wind is coming in it’s much cooler and comfortable. Thank you for doing this. It gives me a good information on how to catch bus and jitney in the Philippines particularly in Manila. Never do the sabit or hanging its been lots of incident the driver hits the bump on the road the passenger get thrown out in this case I don’t want to see any casualty Keep up the good work. Hi Mergrim. MRT-3 is connected with LRT 2. You saw it already and LRT has a new station that will reach Niog, Cavite- one of the new LRT Station is Asiana- MOA a bit of walk from MOA, because the new station is near the hotels/casino Nobu Hotel etc. In my estimate if you are a fast walker, around 15 mins from the MOA globe. The new LRT stations are slated to be opened mid 2024.. There is also a plan to construct a monorail connected with the new LRT Asiana station and the monorail will be going around the major spots in the MOA asia area complex. Hope this info helps

Another alternate transport route is take a jeep to Baclaran then a jeep to Newport City and another jeep that takes to Market Market via that long stretch of the Navy Forces Barrack where the road is way less chaotiic and lless congested traffic. You save a lot of money taking MRT, LRT, Bus Carousel, traditional, or modern jeepneys which I prefer.

Also just across Moa Arena are jeepneys to take u to MRT ( Malibay sign) no need to go that globe area. U can do MRT tour that’ll take u to major hubs like Megamall/Ortigas, Cubao/Araneta, North Edsa. U practically learned how regular Filipinos commute. Salute to u Mergim.

Then you will have to transfer to another edsa carpusel going north bound(monumento) to reach to your destination which is Ayala. Then you you will ride a bus going to BGC. I always seat in front of the jeep (beside the driver) if I don't want to be to in a tight packed passenger jeepney. I will tell the driver that I will pay one seat beside me to be comfortable. If you want to ride a bus, jeep or tricycle with extra space just pay an extra seat (that means you will pay for 2 persons). Anybody who will attempt to sit on your paid seat or squeeze you out, just politely say you paid that seat already so other passenger will not get too close to you.

But for me aside from Binondo or Banawe which is predominately with a lot of Chinese restos theres a kiosk at Greenhills just near the entrance of V mall called Dimzum, Its a bit pricey but its really authentic Chinese dimsum. Another is also located at some of the groceries all over but not all called DEC, they also have good dimsum. The rest of the dimsum places here are either of intl. franchise or local restaurants serving Chinese dishes.

hi mergim! i miss moa! i work in one of the office buildings in the sm moa complex but we’re working from home. anyways.. if u take the edsa carousel bus in moa, it will take you to pitx (parañaque integrated terminal exchange) first. so that’s about 15-30min. ride depending on the traffic in aseana. the bus will not go straight to edsa. then from pitx, u need to take another edsa carousel bus at gate 10 which will then take u to edsa. all edsa carousel bus stops at pitx first. then maybe they wait for their queue to load passengers again. anyways, good thing there were no guards when u took that jeep. i know that they don’t allow the jeeps to load passengers there as there is a jeepney terminal going to the mrt i think on the south terminal of moa. hope u enjoyed your commute tho. really exhausting to commute these days. ‘til your next journey then. ingat!

Pls don’t crumple your ticket in front of the camera. I felt like you crumpled my heart. 😂 Chill Mergim. Like the girl who showed you your gondola. She’s so chill.

I love how you were asking why the conductor is still ramming people in the minibus XD
That's actually a common complaint by many filipinos too
afaik the reason why that's the case is because jeepney and minibus drivers aren't really salaried employees, they earn their income based on the number of passengers they take.
This is why to make a single-trip worthwhile for them, they need to fill their bus/jeep to the brim before starting that trip. That's why they typically ask conductors in terminals to bring in passengers, then they give 'tips' to these conductors once they filled the jeep up and leave the terminal.
