Mergim, Im glad that you are showing us that commuting can be efficient. Coz thats what Filipinos (even foreigners) need - to be encouraged to take public transport. As a local, I personally need to encouraged. I appreciate it brother. Keep this up.
Wow galing mo Mergim! We appreciate your honest observations. We need to shed light on the positives and more importantly the negatives to help improve our public transportation. This for sure is more interesting content than mundane topics. Just be safe and not be so trusting of strangers. Filipinos are genuinely caring and thoughtful but you never know who you will encounter.
You are correct, the only Briton in Manila enjoying the commuting style of locals like us. Very nice Mergim. We can relate to what you're doing. Seeing you experiencing those hardships of commuting lightens the activity. Enjoy Mergim and Mabuhay ❤
10:06 I believe the MRT 1 started construction on October 1996 and back then the entire Bay city area where the Mall of Asia is still being reclaimed. Honestly it's a missed opportunity and lack of urban planning. The Edsa station at Pasay should have been a huge interchange which connects both LRT & MRT line with proper hall & walkways similar to the Grand Central Station that is currently being built at North Edsa.
I love watching your vlog and by your experiences you’re becoming a local now, commuting, eating streetfoods and communicating with some locals, wow! Keep it up Mergim 👍
Mergim, welcome to the common people's commuter daily travel. Hehehe. A little bit of advise when you are there in the street below the MRT South Terminal, be triple careful of your wallet, phone, and camera. There are lots of looters/muggers there. It is somewhat similar as well there in Guadalupe. Even we local are having our days quarreling with those barkers who always squeezes passenger in a jeep or bus. You don't want to experience the rush hour transportation squeeze here, believe me. Just enjoy and always stay safe always, okay!
Your vlogs have always been very interesting Mergim, but your new style and content is definitely next level! Appreciate how comfortable you are riding the jeepneys, even sabit! Love you using local linggo too.
congratulations for. nailing your public commute, Mergim! 😅😅😅 just don't forger to always be vigilant with your surroundings and your co-passengers and always secure your valuables because there are pickpockets everywhere, even in the MRT, so just be careful always while vlogging.
A gentle reminder, Mergim -Just be careful about bringing out your whole money clip while out on public transport. Best to prepare smaller bills in your pocket.
When you do public transportation they usually fill it up as much as they can so they can make profit. They don’t leave until it is full. If they don’t fill it up they don’t make a profit. That is one of the inconveniences of public transportation. Always ask around like what you are doing.
Mergin ..you are rock star now in Guadalupe:)) smart move live like local style now save a lot of money..yah one of favourite vendour stand Master Shomai ..love Tuna ..drink .. ice cold👍 Gulaman
Seen a plenty amount of white dudes using the MRT last time I rode one, although most of them were not holding any cameras and film themselves riding it like Mergim does. 🤷🏻♂️
bro watch mergim vlogs closely ,ever since hes been commuting on the jeepies and mrt,..look carefullyl at his surroundings in the mrt train and mrt stations and jeepies and buses, you see NO foreigners blacks or white dudes, none what So ever..ALL FILIPINOS bro......what a unique revelation, SHOCKING TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF A FOREIGNER VLOGGER ..🤣😂😂😎
Extremely informative. You are a pro Mergim. Hats off to you dude. Such a trooper. Although!!!!! if you'll allow we to be cheeky for a wee bit... That's two-episodes worth for content shot in one day! Hahah. Well worth the trouble for a "day in the office" yeah? 😅 Eitherway, keep on keeping on! Hopefully those in power can catch a glimpse of the hardships of everyday commuters and by some stroke of miracle have the heart to do something about it. Cheers!
Gud am Mergim, good to know you have discovered how to move around Mla the cheaper way....love the " raw content"....more of this kind, pls. Thank you. God bless❤❤❤❤❤
Great to see you vlogging from both BGC and from other places in Manila. Keep up the good work. Im huge fan of you. You also inspired us for a trip to taygaytay waterfall and we booked your airbnb in taygaytay too, plus ofcus went to BGC. I hope i someday gonna have time to live for longer time there
Mergim always look for jeepney that front next to the driver is empty seats. It is much better to sit right next to the driver the wind is coming in it’s much cooler and comfortable. Thank you for doing this. It gives me a good information on how to catch bus and jitney in the Philippines particularly in Manila. Never do the sabit or hanging its been lots of incident the driver hits the bump on the road the passenger get thrown out in this case I don’t want to see any casualty Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing.
Next time you don't have to go all the way to Guadalupe from Taft. Instead stop at Ayala Station 🚉 and take the modern BGC bus going to Fort, Market Market or Uptown.
Hi Mergrim. MRT-3 is connected with LRT 2. You saw it already and LRT has a new station that will reach Niog, Cavite- one of the new LRT Station is Asiana- MOA a bit of walk from MOA, because the new station is near the hotels/casino Nobu Hotel etc. In my estimate if you are a fast walker, around 15 mins from the MOA globe. The new LRT stations are slated to be opened mid 2024.. There is also a plan to construct a monorail connected with the new LRT Asiana station and the monorail will be going around the major spots in the MOA asia area complex. Hope this info helps
There’s number of passengers per trip. they earn per person, unlike other countries that buses are subsidized by government, that’s why they packed the bus to the max.
Bird's eye view from the hustle and bustle of the concrete jungle! The chairman now the walking "atlas"of Manila. This is classic mate! Very raw and exciting!
hey mergim, you should have hopped on that bus carousel, It can lead you straight to guadalupe station. You won't need to ride a jeep, then mrt at all. Saves you time, and a bucket of sweat. 😊
Oh yeah! bro. to easy to you transfortation from moa to bgc, the edsa, rotonda station near by where I place to live, Keep up the good adventure trip sir mergim 💖💯💪 and keep safe always and good health 💯💪💖 GOD BLESS PO 🙏💖💯💪🙏🍒
Mergim since you are British I would recommend you doing a vlog on Idarts dash. I know it is plastic tip but a great place with good food and the staff are as friendly as can be. 4th floor at the corner of 7th and 30th. My filipina partner never threw darts and now it is the highlight of the week for her. Please if you haven't done a vlog on the place check it out. Thanks
Another alternate transport route is take a jeep to Baclaran then a jeep to Newport City and another jeep that takes to Market Market via that long stretch of the Navy Forces Barrack where the road is way less chaotiic and lless congested traffic. You save a lot of money taking MRT, LRT, Bus Carousel, traditional, or modern jeepneys which I prefer.
From MOA you can also take that Carousel bus to the last stop at PITX then take the bus also Carousel back to Edsa get off at Ayala. Then take the bus to BGC. Also just across Moa Arena are jeepneys to take u to MRT ( Malibay sign) no need to go that globe area. U can do MRT tour that’ll take u to major hubs like Megamall/Ortigas, Cubao/Araneta, North Edsa. U practically learned how regular Filipinos commute. Salute to u Mergim.
Try Chef Bantoy’s food next time, its just down in Pembo near St John’s church, a short trek down hotel 101... you wont miss it specially during meal time because of the line... dine in is like a vip pass you will be served immediately. crispy sisig, crispy tokwa’t baboy, lechon kawali just ask for extra sauce , they have dozens of dishes to choose from.. it’s a pass on the (tortang ampalaya) bitter gourd stir fry with egg (always too salty)
You cannot ride edsa carousel from MOA going to Makati because it will stop at PITX. Then you will have to transfer to another edsa carpusel going north bound(monumento) to reach to your destination which is Ayala. Then you you will ride a bus going to BGC. There is no direct edsa carousel from MOA to Ayala.
I always seat in front of the jeep (beside the driver) if I don't want to be to in a tight packed passenger jeepney. I will tell the driver that I will pay one seat beside me to be comfortable. If you want to ride a bus, jeep or tricycle with extra space just pay an extra seat (that means you will pay for 2 persons). Anybody who will attempt to sit on your paid seat or squeeze you out, just politely say you paid that seat already so other passenger will not get too close to you.
catch bus to pitx get off at double dragon or walk to double dragon 5 mins walk catch bus at double dragon to Ayala one then you can catch either a BBG bus or walk across the road to service station and catch a jeepney to market market

Actually you can also ride edsa carousel bus and go down to guadalupe.same way as mrt 3.there is a proposal from SM to extend the mrt 3 by monorail up to sm MOA.i don't know when they will start that project.
There's a british guy before you, also a vlogger name Marshall Butter, and he goes around like a local, eating local foods, adventurous, rides local transport. Never seat near the driver. You'll become a part-timer 😂

That’s right Mergim no foreigner do it the way you do it 💙 It’s amazing you’re becoming Pinoy 💚 Good thing that you bought a beep card 🇵🇭 Pretty soon you’ll be taking MRT-LRT everywhere including up north.
Master Siomai is branded that’s why its expensive. You can basically see that in every mall too. That’s my favorite siomai and I’m happy you enjoyed! 15:43
Transportation is the one priority to be fix in the Philippines, need more to be organize, it should have the right loading and unloading area. Hopefully by 2028 Transportation will be much better.
Wow, good for you that you discovered to use public transport. Big savings that you can spend for your other necessities. Good luck for your another adventure exploring metro manila using public transport.
One thing about this video, you're becoming more "local" in the best way possible. Near the end, when you were talking with that woman with the short shorts, you clearly said, "ha?" Because you needed her to repeat what she said. Lol. Nice
I think all the carousel buses go through Edsa going north. Passing by Ayala and Guadalupe. Just say to the bus conductors Guadalupe Or Ayala station amd it just one ride. U dont need to ride d jeep
hi mergim! i miss moa! i work in one of the office buildings in the sm moa complex but we’re working from home. anyways.. if u take the edsa carousel bus in moa, it will take you to pitx (parañaque integrated terminal exchange) first. so that’s about 15-30min. ride depending on the traffic in aseana. the bus will not go straight to edsa. then from pitx, u need to take another edsa carousel bus at gate 10 which will then take u to edsa. all edsa carousel bus stops at pitx first. then maybe they wait for their queue to load passengers again. anyways, good thing there were no guards when u took that jeep. i know that they don’t allow the jeeps to load passengers there as there is a jeepney terminal going to the mrt i think on the south terminal of moa. hope u enjoyed your commute tho. really exhausting to commute these days. ‘til your next journey then. ingat!
Pls don’t crumple your ticket in front of the camera. I felt like you crumpled my heart. 😂 Chill Mergim. Like the girl who showed you your gondola. She’s so chill.
I love how you were asking why the conductor is still ramming people in the minibus XD That's actually a common complaint by many filipinos too afaik the reason why that's the case is because jeepney and minibus drivers aren't really salaried employees, they earn their income based on the number of passengers they take. This is why to make a single-trip worthwhile for them, they need to fill their bus/jeep to the brim before starting that trip. That's why they typically ask conductors in terminals to bring in passengers, then they give 'tips' to these conductors once they filled the jeep up and leave the terminal.
Yes you are right Mergim, you are the only foreign vlogger who does it better than the locals 👍
The Chairman/The Ambassador, everyone else imitation
Oh yes ! GO,go,go Mergim 😊👏.Getting wiser everyday experiencing the real life in the Philippines.
I must say that you're one vlogger who's fun to watch even just by doing a simple random vlog. Power on! 💪😎

Nice meeting you Mergim in person a while ago in BGC
Another way to BGC is you get off at the Ayala MRT station and take the shuttle bus going to BGC
more convenient
He did the best route. He was not going to BGC but to a nearby township called Uptown Bonifacio where he resides and which is not a part of BGC.
@@willm3633 Nope. The BGC bus north route at the MRT Ayala station stops at the Uptown mall

You are the man, Merghim! You should be the go to person for any new comers in Manila👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Survival guide to Manila :). Try going through Ayala One instead. More user-friendly. I was told there are buses there to BGC.
A gentle reminder, Mergim -Just be careful about bringing out your whole money clip while out on public transport. Best to prepare smaller bills in your pocket.
Of course he knows it better. Tourists are safer in Manila now compared to Rome and Paris!
He should get verified GCash and upgraded Maya
Don't bring all your money like that haha,

There's a bus straight to BGC in MOA, the bus stop is in One ECOm
mrt3 was built way before the reclamation where moa stands so its purpose is really to connect it to lrt1
You could've have gotten off at the MRT Ayala station as well. There are BGC shuttles in there just right next to the MRT Ayala station.

That's actually a common complaint by many filipinos too
afaik the reason why that's the case is because jeepney and minibus drivers aren't really salaried employees, they earn their income based on the number of passengers they take.
