And do you already bought a bike? Specially in spring it’s fun to bike to the beach or little villages around the City like ‘Marken’ or the river ‘Amstel’ etc. Enjoy Amsterdam!

Good to see you want to learn Dutch. It's necessary if you really want to interact with Dutch people and really know them and the Dutch culture. Duolingo imo isn't the best way to learn, but can be a nice place to start. Real life lessons with a teacher are the best though. And insist on Dutch people speaking Dutch with you instead of switching to English as we're inclined to do.
Maybe you should like to watch the TH-cam channel Dutchies to be - learn Dutch with Kim (for the language), and the channel of Casey Kilmore. She's an Australian woman living here for several years already and she's made several video's about her experience.
    Good luck!

Hi Maria, thank you for watching! Don't worry, I'm planning to join a class too - but I'll keep duplinguo as an extra reminder to keep learning!

@@musicbyrosalind There's a Discord server named Nederlands leren / learn Dutch. There are native speakers and non-native speakers (of all levels) communicating with the intent of improving their knowledge of Dutch. Maybe something for you?

I love to see so so many comments from Dutch people and making it so much easier for new comers. Such a hospitable warm feeling 💜❤💙

It's certainly getting windy here! I hope it doesn't disrupt your plans - and good luck with the move! 😊

Hi , what a surprise that there's a musician that moved here in Amsterdam , looking forward to hear the progress !! The bicycle shops here are also selling second hand bicycles with shorter term guarantee , just incase all of sudden experiencing broken spare parts , or need adjustment , or you want to change to another one or to sell it back , than is easier . Anyway I watched some of your videos , singing , playing guitar and you've a keyboard too . Have a nice day .

Which country are you a citizen of? I'm so jealous of EU citizens. I would've loved to just work casually or part time but unfortunately I have to work full time for anyone to be interested in sponsoring me- I hope one day I can live in the Netherlands but at this point it's not possible because long term I need to be an EU citizen so I have to live somewhere that will allow dual citizenship (i.e. I will naturalise) by then I will probably be too settled to move. I hope to visit Amsterdam a lot since I will be in Europe at least- take advantage of the cycling for me, it's my favourite mode of transport.

Just explain to your Dutch colleagues that you want to learn Dutch and ask them to talk Dutch to you as much as possible, and translate in English if you don't understand them, I'm sure they will do so. Being a musician I'm sure you'll speak and understand the language and intonations quickly.
