If a woman says she's child free don't ever ask her to change her mind, they're the most pressured to have kids and shouldn't have to constantly stand their ground
Story 2: what an unfortunate situation, it’s a lose lose for both her and the husband. It’s best for OP to make a quick clean and amicable divorce, better to move on and begin the healing process as soon as possible for the both of them. The Husband seems like a great father and the child is lucky to having a caring father.
You’re right in thinking that a quick and amicable divorce would minimize further hurt. 😓 But man, it’s just rough watching two people go through this when they both seem like good parents. Life can be so unfair.
OP's parents are mentally disturbed degenerates. They blamed OP for being born and put his brother on a pedestal against his will. They act like the brother is the only child they had and didn't want to take responsibility for their actions or let him live his own life outside of them.
Story 1: I wouldn't let the dad's girlfriend anywhere near that baby, she sounds like the type of person to inflate her own importance in the kid's life. She's either going to insist on being called some cutesy version of grandma or she's going to go full “my baby” on them… 😬
yeah 5:20 she said she would want a gender reveal party if she was pregnant, it wasnt about the stepdaughter it was about her, SHE wanted the party and got mad because she didnt get it....
S2 Commenter what didn't you get she doesn't want at all to be a stepmom? She articulated it pretty well. Meeting this kid and having him over a few times didn't change her mind...
Child free op, she said she tried to acclimate to the kid and to be ok with it but she hasn't been able to, which is probably why it hasn't been asked in the comments.
Being dead named is not only unacceptable it is disrespectful, condescending, a ridiculous attempt at a power play as well as unabated evidence of a complete lack of respect. Anyone who has changed their name for whatever personal reasons they saw fit to do so had the absolute right to do so and bears no responsibility to share change nor the reason/s to anyone - ever.
0:23 ok right off the back op isn’t the a hole the parents / parent dosnt want something that involves there kid u don’t do it it’s there kid not yours
If anyone's curious I made a small response to story 2 in our recent "I discovered my husband hates our baby..." video. Also the video is 2 HOURS LONG lol
The gender reveal party that helped make it more popular was held by a woman who had suffered a lot of pregnancy losses, and she wanted to share a special pregnancy milestone with close friends and family. Last I heard, that's her oldest child, who is gender non-conforming.
18:40 I love how all the broke people are unable to grasp the concept of just buying a million dollar house with cash on hand. "but she will be paying half the mortgage!" because the part where he said he's buying it outright just doesn't compute in these commenters minds. This man understands finance, assets, and investments on a level most people on reddit (myself included) have never come close to.
Story 2: OP knows she wouldn't be a good stepmother and it's better she leaves her husband. She would otherwise slowly build resentment towards him and his son. Some people don't like children and it's okay as long as they are not abusive towards them. There is nothing wrong with not liking them and you shouldn't force someone to raise one. Actually, hoping she would change her mind is kinda bad. A lot of people thinks that is a women ultimate desire and goal to have children and childless women never stops hearing about "but what if you change your mind?". Please leave women alone lol
Most adoptees have their names changed when they are adopted, either by the adoptive parents if the child is an infant, or when they are older and decide to it on their own like OP did. The boyfriend is the only person being immature here. I could see him feeling some sort of way if this was the first time he found out about her being adopted, but even then cussing her out and giving her the silent treatment would be overly dramatic.
The car one- I’m gonna be so honest right now, when OP said cars were a privilege, I felt a bit of rage boiling in me- because at this point? It should be a right, especially in areas that don’t have public transport or everything is like- 20, 30 minutes away. You can’t do anything without a car. It should be a right.
Story 4: I really really can never understand why parents are like this. Why treat your children any different? If you only wanted one child then use protection so you won’t get a second. If you don’t want any children for the love of everything, use protection but if you find yourself with a child that you know you don’t want, give the child to someone else. It’s not that hard! But I will acknowledge the fact that there are people who have children only for selfish reasons, to have someone they can control, help with the other children, or to have someone take care of them in their old age. Believe it or not I have actually heard stories of parents admitting that those previous reasons are why they had children. If they wanted more children, then they should love all of their children. No child chose to be in this world, and despite what parents think, that reason is why they don’t owe them for their existence. And never ever ever ever, tell a child you kept them fed and clothed with a roof over their head(s), because again, you chose to have them and those are the bare minimum. Just because you do those things doesn’t mean you’re a good parent. People do the same for their pets and they don’t expect the animal to do anything outside of protecting the owners, property, and will shower them with all kinds of love.
Story 1 - why is it assumed the weirdo throwing the party was infertile? We infertile women have enough problems without being lumped in with lunatics. Also, withholding your child from your parents as a punishment for bad behavior is beneath contempt.
Story 2, this story is understandable from all parties involved, minus the ex. I can understand Op's want to be child free, but if she tries to draw it out, it could quickly turn into resentment towards the child. There's a story out there with what could be seen as the child's perspective of this kind of situation, where the spouse stayed with the parent, but only as a spouse, so the child could feel the distance of the of the relationship between themselves and the spouse.
I remember i threw a gender reveal for the class pet moʻo named after the Hawaiian word for geco moʻo whas a snow leopard gecko It's a boy It wasn't very big though people only came for the brownies and I think i also had soada but it whas about 3 years ago as of writing This Initially noone knew the gender before the day of the party because he was still a baby but once he let the teacher pick him up and he was old enough to show than that day i trough the party But relating to the story that led me into writing this i to believe that no human baby should be thrown a gender reveal If you want to reveal the gender at a party do it at the baby shower
Story one: mountain from a mole hill. Story two: childless versus anti child. Story three: love and money issues. Story four: parents favor first born and tries to gender swap Op but family didn't let them so he became the extra child. Story 5: forced work friend, Op just wants to work not the drama. Story 6: ops boyfriend turns ah because Op didn't yet share her past.
Story 2: Husband should not shut his wife out to spend all his free time with his son. I understand his feelings on wanting to spend as much time as possible with his son, but his wife/ marriage is his first priority. He needs to find a balance. Not pressure his wife into doing what he wants. He needs to compromise with his wife.
Story 2: She doesn’t want kids, the guy’s being a good guy and stepping up to raise a kid that’s confirmed to be his. She shouldn’t have to change her life and plans and he deserves someone open to accepting him and his child completely. It sucks but even if they love each other, OP and her husband should probably separate since they are on two different waves. Story 4: Some people are too immature to be parents. Blaming the kid for being “the wrong gender?” It’s pathetic and sad. Story 6: Some people are way too immature to be in relationships, this dude wanted an easy way out and instead of manning up and breaking things off-he certainly didn’t care about OP’s feeling-he wants to be the poor little victim he’s probably always been. Send the screenshots, what do you have to lose but a couple of minutes?
Both sons should be really careful if they get married and have daughters. Those parents will try to swoop in and relive their daughter fantasy with the grandchild instead. Any grandsons will be ignored
S2: she doesn't have to be the step mom she could just be the dads wife, but it sounds like the dad wants her to be a stepmom from her description, unless the kid is able to do their own chores or dad picks up after the kid it's not fair in the slightest to her

I get were OP of story 3 is coming from, but the problem is that it puts OP's fiance in a very vulnerable position if the marriage fails. The kind of vulnerable position that women are warned against putting themselves in, because it can cost them the custody of their children if the mariage goes south.

Don't drag me here, I am just trying to get people think. Does anyone else find it ironic that we live in a society that encourages Gender Reveal parties, as well as allowing children to pick their own gender? It seems, the only time the biological gender is important, is when there is just a fetus.
Didn't think she was the asshole until she mentioned not letting her father be there to meet his grandson, that's incredibly fucked up of her. Outside of that yeah she's not the asshole.
Why is it that people can never accept that some people don't want and will never want children? Is it really that hard for you to leave people alone? Don't yoh think that maybe someone who went as far as to be permanently sterilized should be taken seriously? Parenting isn't something you just "try out". Honestly gfy for that one.
if this lady aunt mature enough to handle one kid thats probably not even gonna be there 100% of the time she aint mature enough for marriage period, even i know marriage involves compromises
Story 3, fiancee listened to someone not involved in her personal life and demands to have a say in ownership of the house. OP is doing the right thing by putting his name on the house before they get married (since he has the money to afford it) and has good points on why.
