I found my way here for the dovetail box, also a sparky by trade. I've used very few toolbelts, always find I prefer a very small Occidental leather tool holder that my belt holds and my back pockets. Enjoying the videos thanks for putting in the work.

Definitely a toolbox man, love the fact I can sit on it to save my knees or stand on it to be able to reach something that is hung very high. My toolbox is just under 30lbs and it used to be 50-60lbs!! It’s super sweet as it is now.

Hi john, appreciated your video. Have been doing this now for 40 years and do not use pliers: CK side cutter stripper works for me , larger size same as you, personal choice I guess. Keep up the good work 👍

Not sure if you can get these across the pond but when I did general contracting I switched from a huge bulky framing rig with an additional electrical pouch to the toughbuilt cliptech system one belt and a dozen different pouches you can clip on or off as needed they even have rail to hang on your shop or van wall to keep them stored. I was skeptical to say the least but tried out two pouches well now I have 16

I run a VETO pro pac X-XLF (I think that’s the model # it’s the biggest they have ) I have mainly Klein, Channel lock, knipex, Craftsman and Wera . All awesome tools ! I love this job still after 23 years ! The Klein Bagget style pouch is the lightest I’ve found and the one I usually go back to, also have Occidental leather and Gator backs .... always go back to the Klein bags, not the new style the old style .

Veto tool pouches and bags are very well made but pricey. Great pouches for sparks tech OT-MC & tp4B & tp5B & TP-XL
Tough Built tool pouches are also great and made with quick removable belt clips and a very fair price I might add ! Definitely worth looking into!

I have the 15 inch PACKOUT tote and in it I have a hammer, hacksaw, utility knife, wire nuts, Irwin version of the channel locks, combination of wood, sheet metal and self tapping screws, 24 inch Klein level, Klein screwdrivers and nut drivers, Fluke multimeter, M12 screwdriver, M12 hammer drill, and sometimes I'll have the Milwaukee installation drill driver, most times I'll have my hand tools in my Veto pouch with my Klein insulated screwdrivers, long nose, wire cutters, hybrid pliers, cable cutter, coax stripper, PL-259 crimper, and a flashlight

Hey brother I’m sorry to bother you but I was just wondering my local IBEW isn’t taking applications at the moment and even if they do I don’t know if I’ll be able to get in. Is there any other option for me to become a licensed electrician without the IBEW? Could I get the same sufficient schooling somewhere else without their apprenticeship? I’m 26 with a wife and son.

Great video!! Is that a Deise accent I hear?? I lived down there for 15 years, absolutely loved the place, was only supposed to stay for 6 months.. my son was born there too 👍 anyway i recently scaled 3 tool boxes back to one, the same tote you have there.. its amazing the shite you build up in boxes over the years haha!! Great channel, keep up the good work 👍

Great video. I see so many people in the electrical trade with only non insulated screwdrivers. Why is that? It seems to particularly be on American videos that I see this.

Cool video? What was your flashlight (torch)? Have you ever tried a Gerber Multi-Tool? I love the 600 size tool. I like it over the Leatherman ( which are nice), because the accessories on the Gerber aren't riveted in so tight. The Gerber you can just swing the tool downward, and the plier jaws slide out and lock with just one shake. If you are used to swing out blade on Leatherman, you might miss that, but the cutters and quality of the Gerber is fantastic. It feels great in the hand, and if you need pliers (which can handle most tasks, poking, cutting, tightening, bending), just flick your hand. That alone makes it worth the while. The phillips, can opener, and file is of good quality too! Can you tell I'm a fan!? lol

    • @JohnMcGrathManInShed
