    On the CK cutters the bit at the bottom is for when you double over your ends you squeeze the wire with that part so you get a perfectly folded over end 👌

    The hole in the base of your cutters are for cutting switch plate/socket plate screws - cuts the screw cleanly on the right angle so it goes in the wall box nicely.

    Oh brilliant really enjoyed that Chris thank you. I think the CK side cutters also have 3.5 screw shears is on them. Other than a tape measure none of our tools are the same. Thanks again and happy New Year

    Don't know if anyone's mentioned it but the CK cutters that notch at the bottom isn't a crimper its for doubling over ends works quite well although long nose pliers are still the best option IMO also the hole in the front of them is for cutting down socket screws that's a handy addition, I've got the larger version of those they are great and the 1.5mm stripping notch will do 1.0 as well no problem

    Really have treated yourself Chris! Fair play and well deserved, love them CK side cutters. I've always used them, the little notch at the very bottom is for when you double your ends over it pushes the copper in tight 👍

    Grest choice of bag and tools, just been sorting mine out over the last weeks,still using a Kunys puch with belt and neck strap, downside is unlike the Veto is it does not stand up on its own.
    large Veto bag I must have had for 12 years or more,still perfect and new ones are much the same.
    That Wiha multibit srewdriver is handy but mine came without a PZ2 so I added it and keep it in the driver,tend to use that when carrying minimum drivers at height or lofts when you may reduce what you carry.
    I have the dedicated Hulfators electricians hammer in minealso..expensive for a hammer but with a square head gets close in corners when required.
    There is only so far you can go with a pouch and I end up clearing it out or for sure the it gets to stuffed, plus you can't keep a track of your tools and electricians noce tools on a site are a target.
    I had a brand new Milwaukee Combi stolen within days of getting it and on the weekend went to the only place in the area that sold them....Guess what,the guy who stole it was in there chatting to the guy on the counter asking for a charger and battery...it was the guy building the data racks in the room I was working in !! I would not mind but he had no drill and I had drilled a few holes for him and thats how he repaid me !! Yeah,,I gave him the option of Police or drive with me following to his house and giving me my stuff back.
    On the Monday I reported it to the site manager and the main client,he was bammed from site.
    Great channel...keep it up.

    That part in the middle down by the handles on those C.K side cutters isn’t a crimper it’s actually called a bending iron used to flatten the bend at the end of the cable I use them all the time 🙂

    I had a pair of those CK combi side cutters when I was on the tools. When I turned up on site with them the lads took the pi$$ saying “why have you bought a pair of new BLOWN cutters” 😂. Truth is they weren’t the best for cutting through T&E because of the holes for the stripping. I stuck with them because back in the day they were about £30, I don’t know what they go for now. I enjoy your channel and the quality of your work. All the best for 2021

    I thought I’d see the Knipex 200mm Installation Pliers in your bag. (the one’s with the little locking wheel on the side)
    I bought them a couple of months ago, they seem very different and unwieldy at first but within a short time, they’re almost all I use now. Walk about site with them in my pocket and it’s very rare that I’m searching for another tool.
    Expensive but superb quality.

    Allen keys with rounded ends on the long side are very useful, in general. One tool I find very useful for board work is circlip pliers with (points broken off) to grip cables, the rounded jaws don't damage the cable, unlike long nosed pliers. And a must for any one working with electricity is one of those voltage sense wand thingies to check if a circuit is live, Fluke make a nice one that has served me well.

    • @davidgriffiths6748
      @davidgriffiths6748 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That fluke thingy would be a non-contact 50Hz mains voltage indicator.
      Sometimes,they beep, don’t they work on sensing the frequency of the ac ?

    • @Kosmonooit
      @Kosmonooit 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidgriffiths6748 It has a sensitive magnetic coil, mine flashes its LED (no beeping), works well, and so useful. It does sometimes detect secondary induced voltages in adjacent floating conductors, but that's when you get your multimeter out to verify.

    I believe the 'crimpy bit' on the CK combi cutters are for bending over 1.5 and 2.5 cable when they are being terminated on their own. Atleast that's what I was taught they were! 🤣

    Wish you hadn’t posted this Chris it’s made me buy more tools that I probably don’t need ! I’m in a bit of a pickle with toolbags - I’ve got the veto tech XL which is awesome but weighs a ton when filled (it’s heavy even empty) so I bought a veto TP4 which is also great but can’t quite carry everything I need for more than 50% of the time so I’m forever back and forth to the XL to get other hand tools which then end up stuffed in the TP4 ...and then tips over and shit falls out. probably need something in between maybe that bag is the deal not sure it’s much bigger than the TP4 though ?

I don’t think people understand how dangerous.. dangerous electrical installations are... just because you can’t clearly see it and it doesn’t smell doesn’t mean it’s safe. That’s why I love the classic customer comment.. ‘well it’s always worked since we’ve been here’ doesn’t mean it’s right mate!!!!!!!
