      He may be one of the great live read players currently playing. People get hung up on GTO strategy and discount how much some players supplement their strategy with these reads.

    Chen must have a live tell or something. Between this and the other Hero call -- he has the dead read on his opponent.
    How he makes the second one for ALL of it is just astounding.

    He calls flop and turn because his plan was to chip in if chen checks river.... But he got lucky and paired his 5. Chen played the hand perfectly with that 3 barrel bluff strong move.

      I love the irony of Hellmuth saying, while on the same table during a WSOP event, that Kitai had no chance to ever win the tournament (which Kitai went on to win) without knowing who he was... AND that Kitai's whole game is powered by the same White Magic that Hellmuth flaunts endlessly.

  • @balooko31

    The discussion of the Koon-Kitai action swap reminds me of a story from the Million Dollar One Drop. Early on in the tournament Jason Mercier had more chips than Antonio Esfandiari and were at the same table. Antonio offered Jason a 1% swap of action, but since Jason had a lot more chips he turned down the offer. Antonio went on to win $18M and Jason didn't cash. A $180,000 decision that I bet Jason regrets...

    For everyone saying callingstation and donkey, they aired many hours of final table, (him) making little mistake and several great calls and folds. Having seen all the footage you can only come to one conclusion and that is: spectaculair call or superb instincts. Commenting this call really only make yourself look stupid.

  • @zche083
    @zche083 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    the reason that Kitai calling is that Chen represents range is too narrow, only AA, KK, AQ, KQ these four hands.
    QJ, QT may not 3 bet preflop, Pair 5+ range would check on turn and river,
    then left either AA, KK, AQ, KQ or bluff.

  • @derikjbrandt
    @derikjbrandt 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The river call was amazing. The flop and turn calls were absolutely terrible. His calls were putting himself in an absolutely terrible position. A five was the only card in the deck that could save him and he got lucky to hit his three-outer on the river. But kudos for calling when he hit it.

    • @XxOffTonexX
      @XxOffTonexX 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Derik Brandt He can't see the other guys cards. Just because it IS terrible when you can see the stats doesn't mean it's a terrible call without knowing the other guys cards. He obviously picked up some info some tell, something that tells him that Andrew is really weak and he thinks his K high is good. Which it almost is, Andrew would play the hand the same way with J high. That's like saying if you have AK and your opponent who has AA has played Every hand he's played, and you push all in, he calls with AA, and everyone says your allin play with AK was terrible.....

    • @derikjbrandt
      @derikjbrandt 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      AA, KK, QQ, ANNNNNNNNND HIS FKIN BLUFFS. DONT FORGET THE BLUFFS. fk sake...

  • @josvid422
    @josvid422 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You think Kitai was planing on check calling all the way with K5 because he did it on the flop and the turn and turn? He obv put Chen on a weak hand but K5 beats nothing of Chens 3 bet range as even most SC hands Chen 3 bets with have made a pair and any pocket pair beats K high. Kitai was obv going to shove that river regardless of what came down and Chen knew that hence why he shoved the river to stop Kitai shoving and making him fold the best hand.

    2 bad calls, 1 good one

  • @macchef01
    @macchef01 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Kitai put him on a busted Jx. j/10,j/9 and was willing to go to the board with King high. Then he got lucky and bombed a 5. again you have to understand that these fellows have been playing together for hours. It was a bad play that got lucky. There is no way he was thinking of making a move to steal on the river because he wouldn't have had any fold equity. He figured Chen was going to 3 barrel no matter what and he got lucky.

  • @onlyweatherlol93
    @onlyweatherlol93 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    @bobby18631 calling half ur stack with k high to apparently set up a bluff catch is not thinking outside the box. im sorry, but this kind of play is suicidal. fine, a call is more likely if chen overbets but if he bets like 4million kitai cant call. chen then reps more hands.

  • @Bubbuz32
    @Bubbuz32 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    the"donk" has a triple crown (wsop,wpt and ept titles)
    he obviously had a tell on chen bluffs and KJ is the top of his bluffing range on this spot.
    maybe it's not the best line ever,but Davidi's a great player and a very nice guy,definitively not a donk.

    I am not saying he is a shitty player. I'm saying that was a shitty play.
    Great baseball players can strike out or make errors. This was a great poker player outsmarting himself, overthinking a hand, making two stupid plays, and then getting lucky.
    Although, I agree, the river call was tough and a good read. But the flop and turn calls were just stupid.

  • @trinnnseznamcz
