Pretty much everything about Deoxys was handled perfectly in this game. The build-up, the music, the difficulty of you choose not to use the Master Ball… unquestionably a top 5 story-based encounter in the series.
Man, it's unique music like this that makes Legendary/Mythical Pokemon so badass.

Deoxys was the first legendary to have its own completely unique theme, which I think makes it even cooler. Mewtwo/Mew just had high-pitched versions of the regular battle theme, and most legendary trios shared their themes. Deoxys, fitting its completely foreign and unique nature, had to have a theme like no other. It rivals the weather trio when it comes to the topic of coolest legendary
What about Suicune’s theme in Pokémon Crystal?
Mewtwo amd Mew shared their higher pitched version of the battle theme with the legendary birds, and IIRC with the Legendary Beasts in FrLg.
@@PolitoedFan9002That one's used for Raikou and Entei as well. I guess you can technically say that it's unique to the legendary beasts, but it's not specific to any one single Pokémon.
@@autumn4639 No each one of the beasts had a unique theme i'm pretty sure, though they were pretty similar
@@poudmajikk If I remember correctly, you're partially right. In HGSS all 3 beasts had their own theme, but in Crystal they all shared the same theme and in GS they just used the regular wild Pokémon theme.
This, Arceus, and Calyrex have the highest level of all story encounters, at Level 80. The Level 90+ Magikarp at the Resort Area don't count.

All of these aren't story encounter though. Arceus is an event, Deoxys us a post-game encounter, and Calyrex isn't even in the game until you buy the season pass. The strongest actual legendary story encounter would be Necrozma un USUM at level 65. Well, strongest in terms of levels, because Ultra Necrozma is level 60, but way stronger.
@@NeoArashi Post game definitely still counts as story in my opinion, so deoxys and calyrex both count. calyrex is in the story for the crown tundra, which is just a paid post game. Arceus's battle may not count due to it being an event battle, but the other two certainly do in my book

@@marcosseverini5297 shadow giratina is much more of a random fight, it doesn't have the story aspect of the platinum fight and he's just kinda there. Just a ghostly magikarp encounter.

Even if he is available without events, he is still treated as a Mythical though.

@@imkrakra A legendary is a, well, Legendary pokemon that can be caught within a game without hacking, cheating or glitching, like the cover legendaries (Zacian and Zamazenta, Dialga and Palkia, Reshiram and Zekrom, etc) or that are part of a more, minor trio, such as the Legendary Beasts (Entei, Raikou, Suicune) or the Lake trio (Azelf, Mesprit, Uxie).
A mythical pokemon is a legendary Pokemon that can only be obtained trhough an event, like Arceus, Hoopa or Zeraora, or legally using another game or external ways (Mew and Manaphy can be earned using Pokemon Ranch/Ranger respectively, and Magearna is obtained via QR code).
There are 2 Mythical pokemon that CAN be legally obtained without going through such methods: Celebi can be obtained in the VC version of Pokemon Crystal, and Deoxys is the post-game's final boss in OmegaRuby and AlphaSapphire. Though both still have the same restriction as the other Mythicals.
I literally screamed at the top of my lungs during this cut scene
I had my Azumarill in the lead during this fight and seeing her just tank everything so easily while dishing out major damage felt so satisfying. Azumarill was my best member in OR/AS thanks to Huge Power, high Attack IV and max EV, holding the Muscle Band, with an all physical moveset that grants STAB bonus thanks to the its new Fairy typing.
I mean, to be fair, Deoxys-Normal isn't known for its bulk.
We better be going to space for the next Pokémon game and get more Pokémon like Deoxys. We’ve been to other dimensions, and time periods. Nowhere else to go

Unfortunately Mythical Pokémon will be still called that. The first generation that they appear determines.
For example Zorua and Zoroark are not Mythical Pokémon due to the fact that despite how you encounter in Black and White, Black 2 and White 2 the enhanced sequals gave them without events. But Deoxys in Gen 3 was only available via events so having an easy chance to catch Deoxys in Gen 6 won't make a difference in its title

Deoxys in ORAS is the only battle in which you start it with an already Mega Evolved Pokémon.
Unless you flee the first time then you can re battle deoxys where you battle zinnia

@@fjshmysk I was simply stating that it is the only battle where your Pokémon is already mega evolved unless you flee the match and battle him again then you won’t obviously be mega evolved!!! Just a simple statement
@@edgargalindo9178 but in order to flee that battle, you must first engage in that battle where yoy start of with a Mega. The initial encounter always has a Mega start, and no other does.
