I love Kent and Shannon so much and this channel. My grandpas name is Kent and he also wears a cowboy hat and has for the majority of his life and he also is a great cook. I feel bad because as a youngster, me and my twin brother would make fun of him and say isn’t that a women thing because he did the cooking in the house. One day we were doing this and he knelt down took off his cowboy hat and said “ Look here boys, a man who couldn’t cook back in the day was a dead man, and I’m one of the toughest sons a bitches you’ll ever meet. He rolls up his sleeves to show green prison tattoos, he pulls his shirt up to show a scar he got serving in Korea, he lifts his hands up and shows that he’s missing half his pinky on his right hand and missing half his pointer finger on the left hand and then paused, smiled and said come on in to the kitchen and let me show you a thing or two about cooking. Then he goes oh by the way, I didn’t chop my fingers off with a knife cutting vegetables, a chainsaw did that lol. I’ll never forget that day and you bet your bottom dollar I never teased him again lol.
I use to use 2 tractor rims stacked on each other. I cooked many meals camping with family and friends. I love cooking on an open fire. Sad to say I don’t get to do that anymore. I’m in a wheelchair now due to a horrible trucking accident. I lost both of my legs that day. So now I watch TH-cam and enjoy everyone else’s adventures. I love yours and Shannon’s channel ❤
As a retired US NAVY Chief Petty Officer, I appreciate your gratitude at the end of the videos. I really do. Keep making fantastic videos and thank you both again.
Thank you to Mr. and Mrs Rollins for sharing your skills and making great videos. I can watch you cook until my appetite starts to cry from not getting to eat such great cooking the way my Grandparents cooked on wood also. I have two of their antique wood cook stoves and ovens im gonna bring outta retirement and give it a try. Thank you.
Sure love your videos. Going to come to your cooking school in the near future. Was raised in Keller Texas but moved to Franklin N.C. when I was 30 years old. Up in the smokies. Nice place to raise a family. God Bless the both of you. I my 73 and served in Viet Nam at Cue Viet mile south of DMZ.See you soon .I watch all I can of you and Shannon. God Bless!!!
Watching your videos has inspired my family to go out doors and cook and travel places we never considered before here in Florida. My youngins Rebecca and Mirella are having the time of there life. Thank you brother thank you for the spark we needed.
I have watched quite a few of y'alls videos, and enjoy them. Maybe it is the romantic in me, but what I enjoy most is when you talk about feeding the cowboys. You CARE about what you are feeding them. I am the cook at my house, and I "cook with love" (as corny as that sounds, I believe it). I can tell you really enjoy what you do...helping those workers get through the day. We all know that food is sort of "the great peacemaker" when you gather folks to eat. For those cowboys, it may be the best part of their day, getting to sit down and warm up with some of your stew. I applaud you for that
cooking is a labor of love. I feel so much joy when I can share food that turned out tasting really good. it makes me happy to see a person's eyes light up as they taste something I made, it's pure joy!
Kent and Shannon y'all are such wonderful people and do an outstanding job as a husband and wife team!! It's so REFRESHING to hear how much you guys love one another and certainly an inspiration to others. I am an old Southern cook too and love the country life. I enjoy cooking in my cast iron and making meals outdoors every chance I get. God bless y'all for sharing your time and talents!!💗
Adding you to my list of "go to" videos. I have been scouting with our youth, sometime as many as 30 at a time, meanwhile teaching them the outdoor cooking. Oh the stories I could tell. I have had parents complimenting on my choice of cookware. I was given an old nonstick teflon coated gravy pot. I use it as a water holder in case of fire or just to cool down the coals. As a fellow video maker, Ms. Shannon, your doing great. Back in the woods in a couple weeks. Have a good one my friend.
Thank you and your wife for all the great videos I enjoy all of them tremendously outdoor cooking is my favorite and that rolling boil coffee is the best I never new in different till I was grown and started working in the city 50 years ago Thank you all so much and God Bless
thanks for all you and your wife do to give us some tips. I worked with cub scouts for ten years, and enjoyed many camp outings that included a lot of the same outdoor cooking equipment and techniques you talk about. I no longer am involved with scouts, but have learned a great deal from your videos that I intend to try with my family and friends. thank you Kent.
Mr.Rollins, Been watching your show for about 6 months now. Along time ago l purchased 2 lodge camp stoves 10 and 12 inch without the pre seasoning that are still in the box. You've given me the motivation to start cooking outside and using some of your recipes. Great show...
You are both awesome. And I pray God blessed you both. My wife and I are trying to repair an old family dairy farm. Getting the building back together and get some animals in here. You two have given us both great ideas for places to gather and new methods to cook. We have an old wood burning stove we are going to try to get out next sping. Thanks for all your hard work.
I really miss living in the country with Acres... now I live in good ole South Fort Worth, Texas! Home of the Hood! One day I'll return to the country in a 2 story brick house on 5 acres in the front yard and 10 acres in the back! And Kent I'm gonna build all of this! Great Video Shannon!
When I first started watching these videos I liked them but thought anybody can get lucky with a few. But when I got into the website and saw the sheer volume of presentations available I thought wow this lady knows what she's doing. Plus, if necessary she can plant the camera and join Kent to help cook or demonstrate (cast iron) and use a big word or two every now and then!. Above all though, your videos seem homey. Even if you two make a blooper you turn it around so we all feel like hey, here's two regular people who are just like the rest of us and having fun living. Cudos to the Beag too.
Hats off to yer videographer KenT. Shannon keep up the great work...always the unsung heroes behind the scenes that make it all come together....thank you both for all you do and God bless y'all
I lived on the Petan Y/P ranch in tuscarora Nevada for a number of years and our cook used a fire box similar to that, thanks for the video Shannon and Kent, they are bringing back some old memories
Cowboy Kent Rollins wow, small world. You should see how big Elko is now. I go out every year for the cowboy poetry gathering and sometimes to help punch cows
Hey there Rollins family, you two make the best cooking duo out there. What a team! Thanks to both of you for producing another great video production. If I knew what the future held for the wife and I, I'd sure invest in the time and materials involved to make one of these outdoors wood burning cooking appliances but, at our age and physical condition, we're not sure of a lot of things anymore. Still, we both enjoy watching other folks working side by side, especially outside, cooking and sharing their experiences and knowledge with others. May the good Lord continue to Bless the Rollins household. Stan
yes we must not forget Shannon is the magic behind the camera.. Soooo thanks Shannon.. and keep on cooking great Cowboy meals Kent i love watching and learning.
Thank you Kent and Shannon, I've learned a lot from y'all's videos. Keep up the good work and thanks again for supporting our great men and women who fight, and fought for our great nation. God Bless You.
I've got a pretty good welder at the shop Kent and I think I'm going to show him this video and get him to make me a fire box just like your Christine. I like that a lot and appreciate you sharing it with us. Oh and tell Shannon that we appreciate her video skills too!
The sad thing is, there's people that wouldn't eat off of that. Those people don't know what they are missing. Some of the best meals I've eaten have been cooked on something similar to that! Good job you guys, and God bless yall!
Mr Rollins I've enjoyed you videos for a long time now .I've learned over the years that you have a talent for dispensing alot of information about food very quickly and efficiently . The saving grace is I can save, rewind , or repeat as needed . I've also learned you could entertain , and make interesting a video about watching paint dry . You videos about the proper care and cleaning of cast iron dutchovens and skillets are in my library as is some of your recipes . Bye the way you bride's camera skills are quite impressive . My hat's off to you both . I'm hoping to see a video about your take on sour dough starter and how you do sour dough cooking in your endeavors . . Thank you .
My wife had surprised me and ordered me your a taste of cowboy cookbook for my birthday and wow what a blessing good book looking forward to trying it all. Love the videos Shannon and you create it's a joy watching and learning from them
Cowboy Kent Rollins thanks to your book I'll always look at red velvet cake and laugh. One of the funniest stories ever. Great book finished it in two nights great stuff now time to cook

Hey Kent, Thanks for the video! I love cooking outside and you give me real inspiration. God Bless your sweet wife for making the videos for you and us. I emailed you once about making a video on cooking rattle snake. She emailed me back for you and said that you guys were going to make the video, but got rained out. That was really sweet of her to reply and I appreciate watching the shows, so thanks to her too.
I appreciate the efforts you and Shannon make to bring these videos to us all Kent. I sure do hope it's worth yawls while too! I know I enjoy watching Shannon's videography skills, and your cooking skills even if I'm not cooking or fixing to cook. It's getting an experienced eye view of the way it was and still is on some ranches.... the way my Great Grandfather, and Grandfather did it. Those times were very special... not knowing when the next meal was coming and thinking your back bone was rubbing a blister on your stomach. Food tastes better outdoors anyway... and when you really needed the meal, well... it had to be special to fulfill that need. God Bless you and Shannon and the dogs, life wouldn't be much fun without you guys! See ya next time...
Just found your channel this morning have to say I can't wait to make real cowboy coffee finally. Thank you for your videos and I can't wait to see more of them and spend the rest of my day veggie and out watching these thank you and your wife good day.
Thanks for showing this. Going to make something similar to use at my new home. It would be nice to have a big fire box to cook and show off, and to have it break down for storage in the winter.
Great work Shannon with all the video's! They are excellent! I'm glad you and Kent chose to to show the different stove's you two cook on and explain how the work and go together. I'm going to try to make my family one. Maybe the size of the tractor rim. I also love your recipe's. Keep your face in the wind and your powder dry my friends!
Thanks again my friend, tell Shannon hi. Went to Florida to see my son graduate Med School over the weekend, got me some video watchin' to catch up on, thanks! Regards and best, Pink
Not everything in your kitchen is hot and heavy. Shannon is not heavy. Sayin this with much respect for both of you! I really appreciate you sharing this, but what I want details on is the fire pit you use at home. I want one myself to start coals for my Camp Chef 16” Dutch Oven, as well as my New Braunfels smoker. Kent, we’ve met ! Ruidoso, Elmo! Got a bunch of these things, some from you, some from you!! Love your videos! When you met Miss Shannon, you way out kicked your coverage, Pard!!
Howdy Rollin's....yes another great one. It's always interesting seeing outdoor cooking arrangements. My system is sorta like Waldo. You may want a metal barrel head to make like a griddle for Waldo. Then maybe not...that big ole iron skillet is probably all you will ever need. Well anyway thank y'all for making this video. Take care. GOD bless!
Kent you've got some great tutorials thanks for sharing your skills and also want to thank your wife for her awesome producing, directing&editing skills..👍
Kent, I don't know if I'm the only one to bring this up, but is there any chance you could come up with a wireless mic to pin on your shirt when you do your video work. Yes, I do have some hearing loss from years working as a diesel mechanic...but most of your videos are almost impossible for me to hear. I do love watching and taking your advice about cooking over an open fire on cast iron, but I just need a little more sound. Thank you and keep doing what you're doing for me and the rest of the youtubers that subscribe to your channel.
Kent you had me at stove light. Just a simple lantern on a pole and suddenly I can see.😉 I made a 15 inch wheel rim barbecue. A nice sized round barbecue grill fits perfect. The hardest part was when the Mrs. found of her car only had three wheels.🤗
I made my cooker out of a small galvanized steel bucket and hibachi grill rack I found at a local thrift shop for 2 dollars. Nothing like cooking with fire. Everything taste better.
I love Kent and Shannon so much and this channel. My grandpas name is Kent and he also wears a cowboy hat and has for the majority of his life and he also is a great cook. You are truly the real deal. I enjoy your videos.
Kent you've got some great tutorials thanks for sharing your skills and also want to thank your wife for her awesome producing, directing&editing skills..👍
Thanks Denny
Kent, I don't know if I'm the only one to bring this up, but is there any chance you could come up with a wireless mic to pin on your shirt when you do your video work. Yes, I do have some hearing loss from years working as a diesel mechanic...but most of your videos are almost impossible for me to hear. I do love watching and taking your advice about cooking over an open fire on cast iron, but I just need a little more sound. Thank you and keep doing what you're doing for me and the rest of the youtubers that subscribe to your channel.
Love this commercial for purple protector mattress cover!!! Excellent!

Kent you had me at stove light.
Just a simple lantern on a pole and suddenly I can see.😉
I made a 15 inch wheel rim barbecue.
A nice sized round barbecue grill fits perfect.
The hardest part was when the Mrs. found of her car only had three wheels.🤗
Thanks Kevin for watching and hope your not in trouble

I made my cooker out of a small galvanized steel bucket and hibachi grill rack I found at a local thrift shop for 2 dollars. Nothing like cooking with fire. Everything taste better.
