      Besides squats, what other exercises do you do to get those quads??

    • @GarageGymLab

      @@christianramirez8831 Squats on top of squats on top of squats. Back squats, split squats, front squats, belt squats... all the squats. I don't do any direct quad work.

    • @GarageGymLab
      @GarageGymLab  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hjwong87 I would say the Marrs bar if you require specificity around the low bar squat. Otherwise, I would say the Transformer Bar... if you plan to take advantage of the features. If not, I'd look at something more traditional like the Elite.

    While I agree the bridge built Phoenix rack is great and I recommend it to everyone. My red paint came chipped and it only flakes more and more as I use it. It is my everyday rack so I’m not to upset about it being that it’s a gym and it’s going to happen but for the price I anticipated a little better quality control before shipment.

    Awesome space! Was definitely curious why so many bars, but you answered that. Did you ever have/consider Powerblocks or you always knew you wanted individual dumbbells? Both in terms of cost and space they take up. Also, about how much to do that type of flooring for what looks like a 2 car garage? Pumped to get more videos like this!

    • @GarageGymLab
      @GarageGymLab  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the comment, buddy!
      I did actually have some Ironmasters for a while. Loved the space savings and the overall quality, but the time to adjust didn't excite me. The powerblocks are great too, and much faster, but I really like the feel of a traditional dumbbell. Hence me electing to sell the Ironmasters and go with a set. I started with the 5-50 in 5lb increments, and then later added 60-100 in 10lb increments.
      On the flooring, it depends on which product you go with. This is Plae's achieve line, and specifically their 18mm thickness, making it one of the higher end options. They have thinner options as well as a more budget friendly option in the cross grind. My gym is around 565 sf... flooring costs north of $10k.

    Hey there! I know this isn't the most exciting piece of equipment in your gym, but I'd love to hear more about the Sorinex Iron Bear shelf/rack? I invested in a nice set of urethane dumbbells which includes 30 pairs. I have two decent racks for them now but they take up a lot of space. I'm considering selling them and going for one taller unit. The Iron Bear looks like it would work if they can go with 6 dedicated DB shelves. Could you tell us more about your experience with ordering them and how well they work for you? Maybe a separate review?

    Very impressive HG. I'm just curious, and this isn't meant as a knock by any means; why spend so much on a home gym setup? Obviously, it's not due to the ROI (That one 45lb self-leveling dumbbell would pay for a two-year gym membership. I pay $34/ month at LA fitness... but barely go). Is this more of a hobby, building the best HG possible? An addiction?
    .
    I'm 6'4" 218 lbs (about 20% body fat but visible abs when I flex). I have a half rack that I bought from someone selling it online for $240 about six years ago + a pullup/ dip station I paid $200 for. I do squats, lunges, bench, pull-ups, dips, lunges, curls, etc., and get my calisthenics by playing sports with the kids/ jogging 3X's a week. I do have a gym membership but barely go, can count the times I go over a month on one hand (I should really cancel it, but do like the stationary machines).
    .
    I say that because I'm in much better visible shape than you (you look like you are in a good/ healthy shape). So I know that you aren't utilizing all of that equipment. So why? Unless you are a professional trainer, I just don't understand. All that being said, those iso arms look great & had me jumping onto the Rep Fitness website to upgrade to a full cage just for that one piece of equipment lol. Again, great setup and thanks for sharing

    Adam, curious about your dumbbell increments. I was squinting pretty hard in the video and couldn't tell for sure...did you go 5-50 in 5# increments and 60-100 in 10# increments? If so, any particular reason why?

    • @GarageGymLab
      @GarageGymLab  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey bud, that’s exactly right. Mainly for space and because I don’t think 5lb jumps are as important the heavier you get. I can influence via volume if I want to bridge the gap.
