Thank you Kenny for bringing this new content to us. For us fans of the 80s and 90s this has been great. The first three conversations have been great. Please keep them coming. Your an absolute joy to listen too. Thank you for what you do !!
In the year 2000 Bobby Labonte became my driver. I love his personality, humility, and the person he is. He has been my hero since then and still is. Loved the stories from him and you today! To this day I still rep the Interstate Batteries swag.
Terry and Bobby were my favorite drivers and after this fun interview Im convinced I made the right decision to root for Terry when I was a teenager then Bobby when he started racing. How humble Bobby is so refreshing in a world full of arrogance. Great job Kenny and I love all your videos. You always speak your mind which is usually aligned with my opinions
I’m 29 Growing up my brother was a dale fan he was born on the 3rd and I was born on the 22nd but idk I always leaned to Bobby my middle name is Robert . Idk. But I’ve been a 18 / Bobby fan since I could pick a favorite and he still remains my number 1 . Love that he was known for a respectful and clean racer that fits my personality so good I’ve always been respectful and clean. So Bobby here’s to you 🍻🍾🤝🏼 💪🔋💚❤️1️⃣8️⃣🟩🏎️
Hi Bobby!! Kenny, it’s about time you started these “Conversations”! I consider this your destiny. I’m so happy we get to be here with you. Thank you so much!! Thank you too Bobby, I follow you often, AWSOME conversation.
Kenny your the only one I have notifications for BECAUSE I LOVE RACING. When you come to Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City Kansas i would love to turn a few laps in a dirt car. Several years ago you had a driving experience program. You had two or three cars there with double seats **for that. If you ever do that again it’s on my bucket list Kenny. PLEASE 🙏
Kenny, it’s a real pleasure seeing my ol legend’s, always liked Bobby and Terry, great humble guys who started at the bottom. Kenny, you are one of the ol legends also. I raced and know the price ya pay. I was the oldest rookie of the year in thunder trucks back in 2000 at LMS. Ron Hornaday helped me with my setup when the nascar trucks ran at Louisville. I got real fast after his help.
To fly a fellow competitor a thousand miles or so says all about his character that doesn't come cheap a great personality and how could you not love this man ❤️
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh another fine show with another great from the past, thank you so much, a real treat was had once again, good to see you Bobby, keep on enjoying life, and you too Kenny!
Hey Herm, Great interview with Bobby. Have to agree with everything Bobby said. One of my all-time favorite drivers. Being ya'lls age, I remember the decades of when you had car manufacturer wars, race on Sunday sell on Monday and drivers were complaining about Ford, Pontiac, Chevrolet or whoever's nose had more down force or whatever. Drivers, brand and sponsors went hand in hand. The days of drivers were recognized by the sponsors because sponsors could afford to put their name on a car for years. Back in those days it was easier for a fan to follow their driver on track or on TV just by the sponsors colors or car manufacturer. Now days, except for a hand full of drivers that have a full-time sponsor, it makes it hard for a fan to buy driver merchandise because the sponsor changes every week. Back in the day, I could tell you what driver drove what brand, what sponsor and what number. Now days, I probably could only list 15 drivers just by their number as drivers and sponsors change so often it's mind blowing. Will NASCAR ever get back to what I consider the glory days, probably not. Those days are long gone, times change. It is what it is. With everything wrong with NASCAR, it's still better racing than a lot of other motorsports.
First saw the Labonte's in 1969 Portland Oregon Grand nationals, had red metal flake curtis cars number 44 , then just Bobby in Baylands California in 1972 , we all thought they had the best southern accent ever back then. GREAT PEOPLE. Always told my Mom n Dad look how well they did racing. Always been a Fan.
Love your show..A walk down memory lane. I am 67, feels like we all grew up together beacause i watched every race i could and was able to go to Martinsville in the late 80,s and early ninetys..Great job Kenny.
Its great. Thank you Kenny. What a bunch of great guys you bring on. We can not ignore how much you know about the sport and the people and everyone knows you too . Truly amazing.
Thanks Kenny for having Bobby on! He's been my favorite driver since I was a little kid. I lived in the Pacific Northwest and only once did I ever get to go to a NASCAR race (Sonoma in 2004). But I never got to meet Bobby, though I wanted to. So hearing his interviews with Dale Jr. and yourself is great!
i'm really glad to see that the best racer i have ever seen, larry phillips was named to the 75 list. i know you were a fan. i also remember your brother being on his pit crew. i was at tri state the day of the fire. he made an amazing come back. absolutely deserves to also be in the nascar hall of fame. i asked him one night at thunderbird speedway, why he didn't race cup, called grand national back the. his answer was simple. this pays better.
Soo awesome to hear yall talk about Bowman Gray Stadium and Burt Myers as I sit here building this Burt Myers Model car. I love that track. Been goin since 96
Stapleton lead me here, great talk, cool channel, the race prep video for the modified is nice too. I like that you guys brought up the car livery issue.
Kenny, Kenny, Kenny you freaking nailed it. Thank you so much for doing this show and your other shows, love it. I could listen to these stories all day long.
I'll never forget 2005 when Jimmie passed Bobby by inches for the Coke 600 win, man we was mad. Jimmie went 3 in a row. They had billboards of that pass around Charlotte.
Kenny another great interview. I never thought or knew Bobby's personality was such. It's really cool to see the real side of people and a glimpse inside their everyday lives. Keep up the good works ✌️😎
So appreciate these shows. I laughed when you guys talked about attention spans. Most videos I don't make thur because there's nothing there, but your stuff has substance. As always thanks for sharing your world.
Had the honor to get to know Terry a little bit and absolutely true. Terry might have been the nicest and best person I’ve met in NASCAR. Eddie Hill in drag racing. Both very friendly and honorable men!
When to Farley Speedway at Farley Iowa years ago My Grandson was a fan of Bobby's he he was there to Race think it was about the first time on dirt and in a late model as the night went on he just got better and better said he had stopped at Scharder's to practice before he came up here wonder if he remembers that night
Another GREAT "conversation"!!!! His story about Bowman Gray was hilarious!! Been there many times and always a great "show"....on and off the track. Don't let the old man in..........words to live by!!!! Take care and keep the awesome content coming!!!
Good ole Bobby. Great clean racer. Just wish he and Tony wouldve saw eye to eye a bit more when it came to drafting lol. That really used to grind my gears when i was a kid😂
I remember a race can’t remember where it was. He could have done the ole bump and run. Needless to say he finished second. Got out of his car and kicked the door/skirt. AND didn’t swear. Could be a life coach.
Pretty cool. A one foot driver who absolutely owned the fastest track in NASCAR for years back then. Atlanta Master.. Don't hear things like that anymore.
I also remember where just last year Monster Energy was sponsoring TWO cars of DIFFERENT manufacturers in the Xfinity!!!! Reilly Herbst for SHR Fords; and Ty Gibbs for JGR Toyotas!!!
Hey thanks for pushing these podcast so quick Maybe some future guests could be Jimmy Spencer Jonathan Davenport Great content really enjoy the podcast
Only if joe gibbs had someone driving that 18 car this year. They could run a throwback interstate batteries paint scheme from 2000 at darlington to honor bobby labontes 2000 cup series championship. I always use him on nascar rivals. He deserves more recognition for what he as done for the sport imo.
I did alignments in my shop for race cars and always dripped sleeve retainer loctite on shims. None of them ever fell out. Racing went downhill since certain engines were banned and restrictor plate racing started.
2001 was the end of nascar . Now for us older race fans these podcasts now fill the void that we have. I enjoy these interviews . Stories from back in the day. My son is 30 years old now but when he was small Bobby Labante was his favorite driver. He would always ask me where is Bobby Labobby running. LOL. That's what he called him. Tell Rusty hello. Lower case n on nascar now.
I always wondered why, u didn't make the daytona 500, when dale sr won, I was rooting for u and your brother, make a video about that, keep racing, God bless
Great show. You guys are right about the penalties and fines. NASCAR has lost their mind. They have not saved any money for the teams with this new car, in fact they probably are costing them more money.
Great convo . I look forward to seeing these and hearing these . But I’m gonna be honest , I’m not totally sold on the idea that the youth is the disconnect to nascar . Or maybe it is but I can tell you that the old heads I know always say we’ll “nascar ain’t what it used to be “. “Nascar is dead “ “nascar died with Dale sr “ , if your old family member was hooked up to the ventilator you wouldn’t walk around saying well ole billy is already dead . We need for push and uplift for the sport . And we need to connect to the young guys man , world of outlaws has a great video game right now and nascar hasn’t released one since the half ass attempt at that ignition 21 game
My work friends got me into NASCAR I decided to pick my favorite driver based on the car they drove. I owned a Pontiac so I pick Bobby Labonte. Soon they got me into a fantasy league every week I picked Bobby Labonte. I also liked Terry until Jeff Gordon wrecked him on the last lap and then I liked him even more and thought Jeff was kind of a jerk. No disrespect I like Kenny too. You always had great interviews.
I remember Larry Phillips Dick Trickle and a few others like those two except Larry and Dick Trickle always won. Larry sponsernd himself selling left hander frames/chassis’s. He had a white Camaro with a purple #75 on the door and nothing else……!! Larry always won. When he showed up we would bet for **WHOSE GOING TO BE IN SECOND PLACE** Because Larry was ALWAYS First.. #LetsGoRacing 🤒👍🏻
The Labonte and Wallace brothers are always class acts!
Thank you Kenny for bringing this new content to us. For us fans of the 80s and 90s this has been great. The first three conversations have been great. Please keep them coming. Your an absolute joy to listen too. Thank you for what you do !!
😢
This is the best NASCAR related podcast on the internet.
thx K!
In the year 2000 Bobby Labonte became my driver. I love his personality, humility, and the person he is. He has been my hero since then and still is. Loved the stories from him and you today! To this day I still rep the Interstate Batteries swag.
Same for me! He’s in my top 4 after 2000 championship!
Lanonte brothers always a couple of my favorite drivers
This was great thank you
Another great conversation Herm. Bobby Labonte is a good dude. I always thought he was kinda hard back in the day but I was wrong.

I love your channel Kenny . This is becoming one of my favorite shows on TH-cam . As a dirt racing guy from the south this show is what I need
To fly a fellow competitor a thousand miles or so says all about his character that doesn't come cheap a great personality and how could you not love this man ❤️
Kenny is awesome. Watched him race up here at sauble speedway.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh another fine show with another great from the past, thank you so much, a real treat was had once again, good to see you Bobby, keep on enjoying life, and you too Kenny!

Great interview guys! You did race during the peak of NASCAR. Those were the days ❤
Great interview. Bobby is one of the best to ever do it. We need Kurt Busch!!
Hey Wallace! Another GREAT interview! So good to see Bobby, and catch up with what he has been up too!
I knew Bobby was something special when I first saw him run the Penrose Oldsmobile in the Busch Series.
Brilliant show Kenny, love your channel, but these long form legendary driver interviews are awesome! Keep em rolling please sir 🙏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Totally awesome. Great video Kenny and Bobby. These are so interesting.

I always considered Terry and Bobby two of some of the very best sportsmen in auto racing.
Had the honor to get to know Terry a little bit and absolutely true. Terry might have been the nicest and best person I’ve met in NASCAR. Eddie Hill in drag racing. Both very friendly and honorable men!
Loving these conversations!
I would Love to see Kenny get in one of those powerful asphalt modifieds with Bobby.
I’ve only ever met two NASCAR drivers, one was Kyle Busch and the other was one of the Labonte’s in Nashville at the speedway there.
When to Farley Speedway at Farley Iowa years ago My Grandson was a fan of Bobby's he he was there to Race think it was about the first time on dirt and in a late model as the night went on he just got better and better said he had stopped at Scharder's to practice before he came up here wonder if he remembers that night

Especially at the Spring race at Talladega in 2001!
I remember a race can’t remember where it was. He could have done the ole bump and run. Needless to say he finished second. Got out of his car and kicked the door/skirt. AND didn’t swear. Could be a life coach.
love these conversations
Great video and can't wait to see you and him with the SRX series

Sorry, Herm, I couldn’t resist.

Big fan Bobby
Kenny best stuff ever
Bobby wins the race, Terry wins the championship in the same race.
Terry was better tho
