Davi Aiex Heleno but they are different types of quartzes, and the show have shown fusion without dancing many times, Ruby and Sapphire (at leaat twice), Steven and Connie, Amethyst and Steven (twice), Jasper and Ocean Jasper
well now that I think about it, Ruby and Sapphire are both corundums, Steven and Connie are both humans, Amethyst and Steven are both quartzes, Jasper and Ocean Jasper are both Jaspers (and in turn Quartzes)......interesting
Shehab Omran Actually, amethyst and rose quartz are very similar types of quartz.
Ruby and Sapphire can fuse without dancing because they're very good at it, in the show they're gem types are not considered the same for some reason.
Amethysts are known to have healing properties, so the quick regeneration makes sense XD

What are you talking about? Steven and connie don't have to dance. They didn't dance when they fought against Jasper. They just started running and fused mid kick. Let's also not forget the first time ruby and sapphire fused. Ruby basically tackled her, and they fused. I believe dancing is only used to get them into sync. When steven and amethyst fused, they were talking and having a moment so they were already in sync.
BFlexic I admit that, in emotionally charged situations, gems can fuse without literally dancing. But in Know Your Fusion, this wasn't the case, but Steven and Amethyst fused just by holding hands. It really speaks to how similar they are, in both stature and mindset.

I feel that amythyst is extremely underestimated, she has taken on garnet for short periods of time, and she did basically beat pearl. She also was the only one to actually do damage to bismuth while they were practice fighting. Although those are small moments amythyst is much stronger than she thinks she is...

Amethyst is strong. But Pearls aren't meant for fighting, so that could be a good thing on Amethyst's side. Pearl had only taught her self while Amethyst had it in her gut. Garnet is strong because she is a fusion and its impressive with Amethyst being a runt and not being a fusion. She also did a good job on fighting Jasper its just that Jasper is HUGE and is a shallow cut like what SliceofOtaku said. You are EXTREMELY right about her being underestimated.

I think it's pretty interesting how symbolic Amethyst's fight against Jasper becomes, Jasper is very beast-like and it's easy to relate her to a big cat, while Amethyst wields a whip, a weapon of dominance, specially against animals and this goes further after Jasper literally becomes a beast herself.
I think they'll fight again, this time Amethyst being alone, but she'll probably start trainning with Pearl by then.

In "Steven's Birthday," Steven holds his form for at least most of the afternoon - when he starts stretching himself, it's at some point in the morning / early afternoon, and he only turns into a baby in the evening, once the stars have become visible. If you think about it, this might mean that he can actually hold a form LONGER than Amethyst can.

With the "jasper is shallow cut". The twin corrupted gems were jaspers, and their gems were very different to jasper (they were larger)
Max Fenton I think that all the gems from the beta kindergarten where slapped together and where all defective and Jasper was perfect by fluke. Just look at her gem it's a quartz but she doesn't look right at all. Even if you look at the other jasper "hounds" you'll see they have their gems look more like amethyst in cut.
Jasper is defective just in a way that makes her as good as an average quartz.

her cut maybe different/defective, but she is strong even compared to an average quartz, she is legendary in homeworld (at least the rubies think she is), she has a perfect hole even compared to the average quartzes like in the prime kindergarten, and she was winning against Garnet until she was thrown to the lower core
I totally agree with you... Amethyst might just be stronger than normal Quartz. Because reason #1 she absorbed more nutrients from the Earth. #2 She's a strategist! Jaspers can be the front line fighters and act with pure brute force with no strategy because they have a sure win. But Amethyst being unique and weak in strength, has invented a variety of strategies, a whip can be a lot of things while plain crash helmets are for defense only. #3 CROSS GEM FUSION, like what you said in your other videos, the fusion between different gems are the most powerful weapon in the Crystal Gems' arsenal. And also, have you seen her fusions? Opal is deadly strong, her agility and flexibility from Pearl and the fighting force is from Amethyst. Next, Sugilite is so damn powerful that she's almost like a fusion between Garnet and a normal Quartz. Alexandrite!!! Freaking Alexandrite! Do I even need to explain? Garnet's and Amethyst's Strength added with Pearl's Strategy and Agility fused into a WAR MACHINE!
Also, Smoky Quartz! Amethyst and Steven alone can't beat Jasper but with fusion they totally whooped her ass. Also to add on the reason #2, Amethyst continues to improve in her battle strategies... She managed to combine her fire whips and her speed rolling to form what seems to be Jasper's speed rolling with fire... She totally copied a move from the perfect Quartz!? Although it may seem that her blazing speed rolling is weaker than Jasper's whose roll can cause cracks on the ground as seen when she rolled into a boulder in her Beta kindergarten and completely destroyed the prisons of her "ARMY" of corrupted gem monsters...
Nah...I believe Jasper doesnt just attack with brute force... think of the fight between Malachite and Alex... it was all Jasper with Lapis' powers... it's the first time Jasper uses the powers but he is already a pro lol

I thought this theory might be going in the direction of Amethyst being a late bloomer. Looking back at Crack the Whip we still dont know what the zoom in on her hand and bulking out reformation actually meant, it seemed like she almost took the form of a normal Quartz but reverted back. It could be something like a new form where she can unlock all that latent power for a certain amount of time before reverting back. Though, after seeing the whole video I do also like the idea that she just had more energy compared to most other gems, and I like the themes that come along with her being defective.
No problem ^_^ I meant a bit more like a Super Sayin type thing I think, or a hulk out moment where she ends up cooling off. I know the series might not go down THAT route because their versions of transformations are Fusions, but its just something that I think would be pretty cool :) Not to mention theyre referenced a bunch of Anime in the past :D

I do certainly think you have a point. Though the way I had been thinking about Amethysts personality was more focused on her insecurities. I interpreted her "childishness" and joking nature as a result of her insecurities and self loathing. Almost all comedians can attest to that they are very insecure people (If you dig deep enough). I see her "vibrant" personality as more of a defence mechanism because in her mind it's all that stands between her and worthlessness. I therefor thought of her shapeshifting as a way for her to not be herself and take on a mask hiding her short stature. Though I wouldn't be surprised to see that your interpretation was the correct one since the universe team seems to have a slightly lighter view on those thing in their writing. I liked your tosat analogy, though as far as has been showed so far it may be more of a case of overccoked pasta.
Not to hate on Amethyst too much. I like her but her self loathing is hurting others (such as Greg in the little butler episode) which is not ok. Great theory! Hope to see more from you :D Subscribed!

amethysts quick reforming is due to her not selecting new form. pearl is picky. it's like character creation in video games. you can autoselect or be picky and wait longer.
peridot also reforms nearly instantly with no changes, as being bubbled stops time, her reforming is only a minute later at most.
In the case of industry efficiency you mean. a gem who gets poofed working on something needs to quickly reform to not lose time on work. where as a pearl may be excused so as to pick the best form.
i don't think pearl can reform as fast as amethyst, because pearl is an overthinker, she would be confused by being poofed and will take way more longer for her to reform, while amethyst ltterally drive by her instincts, she's a natural at it, she won't get confused because she don't think of "why" and just reform

If amethyst was supposed to be normal sized and she was over cooked for 500 years, then wouldn't that mean that she is stronger then all of the other amethysts? Hear me out, if she shrank then that means that the matter that she is made of compressed into a smaller form meaning that she is more dense would have more force behind each punch than any others of her kind!

I just realised from this video, you can see Amethyst's form change when she's reforming at the beach during the Jasper fight - the part where Otaku talks about how fast she reforms, and if you pause it in the middle, it looks exactly was Jasper started to look like when she started to corrupt! The right hand on both are almost identical when it happens.
I don't think it's her amazing regenerative ability there, I think she was so stressed she rushed the process.
well i don't if any one remember but on the episode on the run, after the fight scene pearl entre the hole that amethyst came but if you at amethyst hole you can see that isn't straight so maybe that and the fact that her hole was on the foot of the wall determine her sized.
now that think about maybe reason way she is defected is because the peridot that was in charged of that wall made a mistake or couldn't finish the job tanks. to rebels or the research that was being made on fusion

I feel like meeting the Famethyst resolved so many of Amethyst's issues. She finally found her family and where she truly belongs in the scheme of the world, and it brought her new peace and power.
I'm so happy that you went in depth about this theory! It's rare to see Amethyst showing her real emotions in the show when it comes to how she feels about herself and I really wanted to know more about the Deep cut statement that bismuth said. I didn't fully understand the real world meaning of deep cut (I get it now though thanks to you) but i was really intrigued by bismuth alluding to Amethyst's true potential. I hadn't really drawn a connection between Amethyst and Steven before the Beta and earthlings episode though and I was very wrong for not doing so sooner! But, like Steven, Amethyst might actually be the only one of her kind, an anomaly. Maybe Jasper is the only Jasper that was worth keeping. Maybe the rest were shattered. But Amethyst escaped that purge.

Once again, another interesting video and something else to think about when dealing with this show. I agree that, like Steven, Amethyst still has a lot of room for growth and so far, we've seen her mature from baby of the group to cool big sis to Steven and growing emotionally.
As you mentioned, unlike Pearl and Garnet who fought in the war, Amethyst doesn't really have the stigma of Homeworld's expectations dogging her and they only appear when Jasper does. BUT when Steven reminds her that she's her own gem and she's great (which now suddenly reminds me of what Garnet said to Pearl in Friend Ship), not only does Amethyst take that to heart but they also fuse into Smokey.

I love you and your theories!!! Another interesting thing I've noticed about Amethyst is how well she was able to function after being cracked. Even with the googly eye and speaking backwards, she was still able to react quickly and push Steven out of the way of the sentient thorns. She kept her form stable for the most part until her crack was exacerbated. Even when her form was falling apart, she was still able to walk and talk (though not particularly well). Compare this to Eyeball, who had no ability to function after her gem was cracked. Lapis is the only other cracked Gem we've seen and though she easily retained the most power and functionality, we also know that Lapis Lazuli gems were not made to fight, not like Amethysts or Rubies whose sole purposes are to fight.
When you get deep into the theory and forget that THIS WAS HIS FIRST VIDEO FOR HIS CHANNEL. And yes, i know he had a relatively small gaming channel before starting this one, but damn. This theory was gold just right off the bat, and i honestly think that its better than some of the newer ones on this channel. Don't get me wrong, i love almost every SU theory Slice has made, but i think this one might make its way to the top of the list

Amethyst is the most amazing character in SU. Besides Steven. Their fusion is also the best. I love the things that you said here and the deep and shallow cut of both Amethyst and Jasper. Jasper is utterly wimpy in just the poofed gem. Amethyst is a full fantastic gem. I kinda want to see how jasper becomes an actual character. Badly.

When talking about Earth unique resources, I think Peridot was referring to Earth's _life_, you know, the _organic ecosystem._
I think you're right that Amethyst has far more potential than anyone realises though, she's a tough little Gem, and I love the way you included real gem cuts in your theory, the show includes a lot of references to real geology and gemology in the Gems' characters and abilities.
A better analogy than toast would be that Jasper is a cake and Amethyst is a biscuit (I mean the British/Aussie/French definition of biscuit, not the American kind) -- the first biscuits were essentially over-cooked cakes that went flat, hard and crunchy ("twice cooked" is the literal meaning of biscuit).
I think it would be amazing in the show if the gems keep growing emotionally and mentally with Steven like they have example pearl is slowly healing from the loss of rose seven helped her get closer with Greg and She has even tried to bond with another being through this with there weapons and powers from from these I think it would be great point to get new abilities by conquering there struggles and people can relate in the real world because everyone has struggles in there life's and can grow stronger through them and can fallow under the LBGT stance they constantly and beautifully bring up

I love the Captain America/Deadpool analogy. You were just a tiny bit off. Deadpool was made using Wolverine's mutant genes (he has the regeneration but to a far lesser degree than Deadpool), but beyond that the analogy works for them personality wise.
I am loving all of your videos and you make me so inspired to share my thoughts and feelings on the topics you present! This is why I love SU so much.
I really think Amethyst is going to (or should) have an arc where she finally really comes into her own and learns how to use her unique-ness as a Quartz to her advantage. Especially against someone like Jasper. I REALLY want an episode where she smacks down Jasper.
Hey here a thought maybe the jasper hole in beta is not Jaspers its from the way bigger jasper in sworn to the sword (I think) and that jasper got shattered and that homeroom tried to fix jasper (the war one) and ended up making our Jasper with the small shard and this shard only had the memories of the war what do you guys think if this was true that would be really cool

the only problem I have with this is the captain America deadpool analogy. deadpool was made by someone trying to make a stronger wolverine, using the same methods, and deadpools healing factor trumps wolverines by a long shot. desdpool can be cut in half and walk it off in less than an hour.
Imagine Amethyst realising this. She could walk into battle, have her arm cut off, and then grow it back instantly.
Another Gem would poof her, and just as they walk over to shatter her, she regenerates and punches them right in their gemstone.
Well, I can understand why Amethyst struggles so much. Jasper is perfect, everything a quartz soldier wants to be. Quartz soldiers are naturally supposed to be leaders anyway. Put Jasper and Amethyst next to each other. One is big, strong, determined, confident, a legend. The other is small, conflicted, low in self-esteem, not nearly as powerful, a mess. Like you said, she's been given too much freedom. It's like being given a million dollars and you get everything you want. After a while, it all gets boring because you don't know what life was like without anything. Amethyst never got to fight in the war nor did she ever have to face hardships. She never got to taste the forbidden fruit of war and glory that the other Crystal Gems did. She didn't get to feel what victory feels like after such an intense and close battle with Home World. So she can't relate or have strong emotions towards anything involving the war like the other gems. I don't think she'll ever be as powerful as Jasper like Steven said in Earthlings. But I'm sure she can become much stronger than she already is. She just has to learn to accept herself and take her differences and turn them into something more than just cons. She also has to realize that she is not and will never be Jasper. Even Jasper isn't supposed to be the way she is. Peridot clearly explained that she's out of the ordinary even for a quartz. Things would be better if they both just accepted each other's differences and became something like family. They'd be stronger together than apart
I like the idea that as peridot can't shapeshift because of the lack of nutrients, amethyst is so great at shapeshifting as she had so much extra time to absorb nutrients and "cook"

I didn't see this theory until after the last Stevenbomb and I'm glad I waited. I noticed that all the other amethysts were more dull in color compared to our amethyst. I think this has to do with her being deep cut as well. At 4:08 it is mentioned that deep cut gems are deeper in color which is exactly why I thought of this. While you mention that Amethyst is more lively because of being deep cut, I think that's just a shared trait in all amethysts. Though I do think our amethyst would be more emotional than others, they all seem to have that free spirit and "have a good time" vibe to them. The fact that Amethyst spent longer in the Kindergarten gives her her unique vibrancy in color and personality.

Amethyst is my favorite character in the show and movie. Amethyst just reminds me of myself, I deal with really low self esteem and I feel weaker then everyone else so I try to be strong but I never seem to be strong enough and that's how I think amethyst feels. shes still a child at heart dealing with alot of problems, she only feels strong when she's fused with garnet (when I'm with my closet friends) she's alot like me, I guess when I see her happy it makes me feel better about myself, funny right?
I think the speed of Amethyst's reformation is now only down to how many previous forms she has to "scroll" through to get to her newer one. She's been poofed and changed forms so many times it takes a while just to get through them all, just to reform ONCE.
Amethyst is kind of the first truly off color gem we meet. If she was made on home world she would be one of the off color gems. I think that she is essential a new type of gem that is because of her shape shifting so much she easily reforms and she has not known any way other than acceptance and freedom of thought first from being on her own and then the crystal gems reinforced that way of thinking.
Not really related to the subject, but the way Amethyst leans on Steven after sending Jasper is so adorable. Not in a ship-y way, but in a siblings-type way.
I really want Amethyst to be really strong one day. With her personality and the way she uses her powers it would be so awesome seeing her wreck house. Like using her shapeshifting to dodge and using her fast reformation to surprise attack an enemy would be awesome.
It seems like the creators just kinda dropped the dancing part of fusion at this point. It could be explained in-universe if you really tried but it just seems like the creators don't want them to have to dance first in order to fuse anymore

Hey have you ever noticed the episode where amethyst fights Jasper on the beach and is poofed, Stevonnie fends off Jasper but when Amethyst begins to reform you notice her physical form was straining out and about to grow large yet it went back to normal because she was just trying to form quickly to help. Maybe if she took some time or grew more she could be much larger, like a regular Amethyst. Also gems are there full size when they pop out of the ground so why when Greg met Rose was Amethyst more like a kid compared to how she is now? Please consider a vid on this too!
