Something I'd like to point out (not saying anything you said is wrong, this is just my opinion):
In 'the answer' it's suggested that Sapphire can only see one future and that's never disroven as far as I know. That's where Ruby comes in. I saw a nice thing somewhere that said something like: 'Sapphire's element is Ice, she can only see one straight and solid path but when you add Ruby, fire, that Ice melts and turns into a river adding all the twists and turns Garnet sees.

Yes, but minutes before she was Garnet. That's when she saw all the future possibilities, she still remembers them as Sapphire even if she can't see them anymore.
I'm under that impression too, especially if sapphires were patterned after the Cyclops, who could only see futures that included their deaths. I've always thought that Sapphire only saw one outcome, but would end with her 'death' (ie poofing, but not necessarily being broken). However, as seen in Mindful Education, I think there are endless possibilities, so while she can only see one path AT THAT MOMENT, there's a thousand more to take its place.
Ruby, being impulsive and unpredictable, is where Garnet gets her paths of possibilities, BUT I also think it IS an extension to them being on a planet they're unfamiliar with. Those things together - uncontrollable and unpredictable gem + new environment - is why Garnet can see different futures. And as you mentioned, Sapphire is able to recall these possibilities - that's why in HTD, she notes that playing baseball was a possibility, but not the one she thought they would take.
I also disagree with others who somehow think her precognition is broken - this video explains Garnet's ability perfectly: Garnet HAS to choose to be involved and thus needs to make a conscious decision to use her ability, WHICH SHE DOESN'T ALWAYS DO. Sapphire's role in HW is to provide sight into something; Garnet has no such role on Earth, so she doesn't HAVE to share or even have any visions unless she's actively looking for them. Case in the point - she didn't know Pearl was purposefully repairing the communication hub because she was using her vision to look for PERIDOT, who WASN'T repairing the communication.
Steven I think, like Ruby, is an unpredictable element. We've seen that out of everyone, Garnet is more likely to let Steven handle things on his own without interference, so she doesn't actively look for situations involving him. However, like in Future Vision, when she DOES do that I think all three involved (Ruby, Sapphire, and Garnet) present the most ludicrous of situations because of their own feelings, which yes probably includes paranoia of Steven getting hurt. Seeing as Garnet's nature seems to reflect more of Sapphire's nature, this causes Garnet to discount how these possibilities are perceived by Steven.
Amethyst is another example - in Reformed, Garnet couldn't understand why Amethyst wasn't taking the Slinker seriously, completely missing the fact that Amethyst was insecure about trying to be what Garnet wanted. Amethyst, like Steven and Ruby, is an unpredictable variable that Garnet doesn't have a handle on. That might also explain why Sugilite is so volatile and why we don't see any visions from her - Amethyst and Ruby most likely force Sapphire to be 'in the moment', which causes them to ignore everything around them and not see the affects of their actions.

I think future vision can't see fusion. Think about it. Sugilite, the Sardonyx feels trip, Malachite, Garnet herself, Smokey quartz, etc. She knew peri WOULDN'T fuse with her however.

That makes a lot of sense. Garnet also couldn’t predict whether Steven would be a boy or a girl either, so Garnet confused him for a fusion.

To me, I always thought of Future Vision as not much of a power, but rather the gem having an extremely high IQ, thus them being able to *think* up multiple ways the situation could end, rather than just having the power to see them. This would explain while up until becoming a Crystal Gem, Sapphire only saw one outcome to any situation (i.e. the rebels being apprehended), likely due to Homeworld's very controlling, totalitarian, single-minded lifestyle, and would also explain why Sapphire/Garnet are so laid-back; they've come up with these many outcomes due to their intelligence in fractions of seconds, and their high IQ causes them to be accepting of it, almost to the point of nihilism.

Yeah, but I like to scientifically explain things, so just saying "it's the power to see the future" wasn't enough for me.
Sea Agate you have to take into account keystone motel, her predictions weren't really logical. "He won't like that it's square" and the exact channel Steven would like. " I can see the path of fate as it stretches towards the horizon." Future vision can only really be marked as a rare ability and power, a human brain like explanation isn't needed for what an alien rock experiences anyways though, but that's just how I see it, to each their own.

i 'm not sure sardonyx has future vision because she lacks the 'third' eye she has four and we know that most of pearls fusions have at least four eyes. i think for sure that sugilite has future vision because of her eyes and that the top eye is often clouded or unfocused.

Whenever he is gifted with future vision he seems to make balanced decisions like when he was in the episode with Mr. Smiley and his old buddy even though he saw nothing but bad outcomes he still manages to make a good outcome by the end of the episode! It's always interesting to see Steven with future vision.
Apparently Sardonyx' vision extends to not only the future, but the fourth wall.
I'd say Sugalite's future vision is diluted down to the point that Sugalite only focuses on the most fun and positive outcome and ignores all others to the point that she becoes over confident, cocky, and short sighted. Amethyst and Ruby are both reckless, and Amethyst and Sapphire both have tunnel vision and miss out on important things by focusing on either their own desires or future outcomes while ignoring the here and now or their own welfare. If Sugalite was focused on a task, such as smashing the tower down, they might briefly see a future where they tear it down and have fun, and then immediately take that course of action without thinking about the variables. And later when they fight Pearl, they see a future where they crush her easily and act on that desire, becoming so confident in the possibility that they'll win and take it as a guarantee, while becoming blind to the possibilities that they might lose. Think of it as they check Future Vision for a possibility that they want and then run with it with reckless abandon. Like if someone said 'you could win a million dollars' and you immediately stop listening and rush into the thing thinking you WILL get the million dollars no matter what you do, without even checking your odds or even what you have to do to win. Like a crazy lottery player. Sugalite just knows that she can win or accomplish what she needs, and then flies at it with reckless abandon without thinking of the consequences.

This is a really interesting video. I love Garnet (and Ruby and Sapphire and Sardonyx), so this was a fascinating video in how future vision works from the core host (Sapphire) to her associated fusions (Garnet and Sardonyx).
You also brought up something I myself had wondered and that was how much influence Sapphire has on fusions she's a part of. As you mentioned, Sugilite always seems to ONLY be associated with Amethyst and Ruby, giving the idea that they tend to overpower Sapphire, but that actually goes against Garnet's whole explanation of fusions in general - that they aren't the separate entities of their components, but an experience (that is to say the combination of strengths and positives (or in Sugilite's case, negatives) of their components.
We haven't really SEEN Sardonyx use of future vision, but the idea that she's aware of herself being a character and having an actual show with an audience is interesting and puts Sapphire in a more commanding role than just sitting back and letting dramatic large hams Ruby and Pearl have the so-called spotlight.
I couldn't possibly choose the best future vision, as my faves all exhibit it. If I ABSOLUTELY had to, I would say Garnet because she is the embodiment of two opposing forces finding peace in the middle.
So I was watching this again and realized that your description of Sapphire being calm in the middle of a hurricane immediately made me think of her scene in Mindful Education, where Sapphire was being overwhelmed with butterflies and was only able to get out of with Ruby's help. It's almost like Ruby is, once again, able to disrupt fate or in this case, the hurricane.
I also remembered something I saw on the episode recap of That Will Be All - someone mentioned that earlier, Sapphire did say that their plan wasn't going to work, but that they should try and see if they could change fate. Two episodes later, when Sapphire starts to freeze up in front of Blue Diamond, Ruby grabs her hand and Sapphire immediately is able to come up with their cover story.
They're alluding to the fact that, once again, Ruby was able to alter fate in a favorable outcome. So, I have to disagree that Ruby somehow taints future vision and instead, counter that Ruby might actually bring a more flexible aspect to it and possibly, more favorable outcomes. I've seen and heard these ideas before, that Sapphire's future vision is more gloom and doom versus happy happenstance and I could actually see that; the difference is that Sapphire's so used to it, she may actually just expect worse, but hopes for the best on her own, while Ruby's inclusion causes her to concentrate more on the positives.
I do have to wonder though - I have to imagine that, like any long term relationship/couple, some of their personal quirks, let's say, have rubbed off on each other. Does this mean, when not Garnet, Sapphire's future vision has changed to show more positive outcomes? Is Ruby in a position to know when Sapphire is using or has seen something?

also, my favourite display of future vision ability is definately Garnet, but I'm a bit biased there. Garnet is the balancing force as well as a filter for the predictions, and Garnet allows Saphire to be in the "present", while it may be counted as a blindspot to some regard.
I think that's an interesting concept.
We didn't know it at the time but when Garnet saved everyone from the sudden flood in "Cheeseburger Backpack" that was our first experience of future vision.
Sapphire can see herself in her future vision, though. in Story For Steven, she predicts that she will be injured and says she looks forward to seeing her diamond when she reforms back on homeworld. Ruby changes that, but it wasn't that Sapphire couldn't see herself. These videos are becoming more frustrating than fun but at least you weren't needlessly hating on characters.

Ruby's have one track minds (i thought someone who worked on the show said that anyway) so i thought that as garnet, sapphire shows all the possibilities, but ruby narrows the field of vision, allowing sapphire to not just get a storm of information (as implied in mindful education), but focus on whats relevant to the situation.
Thats just how i see it anyway.
I had a different understanding. I was under the impression that Sapphire could only see one path of fate (like the defeat of the rebels) or at least could only see one or two possibilities; Ruby's action altered fate, which caused Sapphire's vision (thus Garnet's) to open to wider fields of possibilities because of Ruby's impulsiveness, thus her flexibility with having multiple options.
Though, you do bring up a good point with Mindful Education - in that Sapphire does see all possibilities, so she sees everything stretched out, while Ruby - who is single minded - focuses the field of vision to an immediate position. That would explain why Sapphire hadn't thought about Ruby and Steven's present feelings in Keystone Motel.
sapphire herself said she lived i the future, seeing when things are already resolved, but ruby is her reminder to also live in the present, which is why as garnet, future vision has to be focused.
what you said about sapphire makes sense too though, because we have no indications that homeworld sapphires see everything, we know they see "the future", to the diamonds, that means the absolute future, so ruby made her see that no future is absolute... maybe we are both right?
I can go with that. There's still a lot we don't know, especially in terms of Ruby and Sapphire (though I have to imagine that they will show up again in Season 5; I've noticed a patterned that they show up for at least one episode a season - give or take in season 4 as they had three appearance, though I kinda count the last two as a continuation)
I'd really like to see more about the war and the rebellion - given Garnet's statement to Jamie about love taking time and commitment, I kinda don't see R/S being a stable fusion at first.
future vision is amazing especially the way sapphire uses it she analyzes every single detail the sounds her at every second and memorizing to help her in the future just the idea of it is complex
I also think the properties of Sardonyx's room are a manifestation of Pearl and Garnet's/Sapphire's powers. Pearl can create holograms and frequently summon auxiliary items from her gem, While Garnet/Sapphire has (to quote Pearl) "heightened perception that guides us towards our mission objective". Combining those abilities with Sardonyx's performer persona means that Sardonyx can foresee which props (be they physical or hard light) will best fit the situation.
Everybody seems to forget that one part in jailbreak where Ruby seems to have an aerial view over the entire place I think that Rudy may have aerial view to see who she is trying to protect as a built-in power so that it's when they fuse Sapphire and Ruby create Garnet they are able to be more perceptive of everything they can see into the future to see what their opponent is doing and they're able to use their aerial view to be able to see over the entire site to see where they may go.

This is really good and while I understand why you didn't get into Sugilite and her use of future vision, what about Alexandrite? Although she is unstable, I feel like she can use Future Vision even if it's a little bit.
An interesting theory I read on Sugilite's future vision said that she was limited to seeing only the outcome of any situation and not the path that was taken to get there. That would explain why she is so reckless even in somewhat fragile situations. She knows how it's going to end, so she feels like the path she takes is irrelevant.
As far as I can tell, Steven's and likely Garnet's future vision works like input x1/output y1. It's a conscious effort to play with the future and a dues ex machina. Although it might become random if it can act on the subconscious.
Sapphires vision, Ruby's comical nature, Pearl's intellect... Sardonyx makes so much sense tbh, it's no wonder she recognizes that she's just a cartoon character.

Sapphire's future vision allows her to live in the future and become blind to the past. In this sense, Ruby is her anchor, her present that gives her more control of her future. It is what makes Garnet so great. And if you think about it, it's great for Sapphire because she can finally see what's right in front of her. Her love for those around her wouldn't exist without Ruby. It is honestly incredible.

Sapphires can easily take over Homeworld. They could do things behind the diamond's back, or ask the diamonds to do something, and just simply claim that it was something that would save gem kind from a terrible fate.

Funny thing is sapphire isn't ment to be a combatant but I feel like she has great warrior potential as a long range attacker. Her floating powers which are superior to even roses and he super speed can help her gain some extra distance while hat future vision may warn of incoming attacks. Then its just a matter of tossing snowballs at everyone.
I think Sugilite's future vision was shown. Since Amethyst adds to the impulsive nature of Ruby, Sugilite already foresaw that she'll unfuse after a while which may explain why she had the impulse to control Garnet and Amethyst to continue being Sugilite. It's like seeing into the future but making impulsive and rash decisions.

You've really thought this out well. After watching this video i wonder how it would effect Alexandrite!! Since that includes the well being of both Pearl & Amythest(Opal if you like detail).
I'd honestly like to see different attributes of characters that are shared through out the fusion process.
I think garnets future vision is amazing because of how it's so evenly mixed....sapphire's future vision and ruby's personally makes a great character, and like you said, adds on to the future vision as a whole..
I just realized Sardonyx, with Garnet's (Sapphire's) Future Vision and Pearl's Projection ability she could project the future around them like some kind of 'Future Projection.'

I think that for Sugalite (don't know how to spell it) her future vision would be more like spider sense that is only active in combat. Remember we have only seen her in demolition situations not fighting.

When it comes to Sugilite... I'm thinkin Ruby and Amethyst creates a combo that can still SEE the future, but they just dont care. Whats going to happen will happen, so live in the now.

I personally like Steven's version of future vision the best. Granted, it's just an extension of Garnet's, but it gives us an idea of how Garnet and probably Sardonyx's versions work. In Winter Forecast & Future Boy Zoltron, we saw that Steven was only able to see three random possibilities rather than all of them at once, which explains why outcomes may end up differently or why Garnet can still be surprised if something happens

remember in the episode "the answer" where sapphire stated that rose and pearl were going to attack and the rebellion would be over. well she also prodicted that she will be poofed, as well as 2 of her Ruby guards. this implys that she can see futures affecting herself too. am I wrong?
My favorite would have to be Sapphire. With as calm and collected Sapphire may be upon seeing into the future, she does see without her interference and by picking the, supposedly, "most likely" future. I like to see how she reacts to how *she reacts to a different future. Not only that, but seeing how she can react helps with her character in a way. It's so strange... It's hard to convey.
I love how Sardonyx breaks the 4th wall, because, after all, the 4th wall was made to be broken *looks off to the side where I assume the camera is. It turns out I'm an idiot though and I'm looking in the wrong direction XD*

Even though I love Sardonyx with a passion I would have to say that Saphire's future vision is the one I like the most. Mainly because it is such a raw source of future vision
What if sugalite could uncontiously persive moves that's what makes her such a good fighter,if you look back she is poofed by her own weapon what if she has reverted back to the power that Sapphire has (she can't see herself in visions) but so dilouted that it only applies to moves
Maybe the reason why Sugalite is the only representation of Sapphire that has the third eye entirety exposed, is because it's the only representation where the third eye, or future vision, is useless or can't be used at all. Plus, maybe Sardonyx is more in - tune with that ability because Pearl's gem placement is the same as the third eye.
i wounder how Steven would affect future vision when added to the mix via fusion, or even Stvoniy (hope i spelled that right) seeing as Steven seems to be calm, controlled, yet emotional and impulsive, though more leaning to impulsive nature for kind actions than anything from what i've seen, or better yet what would Paridot and Lapis do to it? this would mean taking the personalities we know from them each and figuring out core traits, then use known fusions wit future vision, that display it or have potential but is to diluted with more impulsive personality traits than rational ones to really be a thing

What about Alexandrite? I believe that the way she realised that Steven and Connie had run away on a bus so soon was that one of two scenarios played out:
A) She had a delayed vision, similar to the homeworld sapphire from the wanted special, showing a situation that did not involve her, or
B) She had a vision of herself in the future, when she would be fused again, earlier on before they fell apart and when all three of them realised that the vision was meant to play out that night, they acted accordingly.
I know this is probably a little bit out there to think of, but would Alexandrite have future seeing qualities, I personally doubt it due to sapphires ability being overshadowed by the other gems abilities, but I feel like if Alexandrite does have future vision like qualities, it would have a similar effects to what you described Sugilite's future vision
Garnet can only share her future vision by a kiss with Steven since Steven is part human and can fuse without having to do a fusion dance like in the episode Crack the Whip and the episode Beta? or the episode afterwards
