Governor, I’m a lifelong Illinoisan - born in Chicago (Jefferson Park), raised there for 10 years and then moved to the NW suburbs. The generations back to my great great grandparents lived in Chicago after immigrating here from Germany and Lithuania. I didn’t have a firm grasp on politics when your case came up. I remember thinking, oh well, just another corrupt IL politician. I was only 25. I do remember, however often wondering why Obama never pardoned or commuted your sentence. This interview you did with Tucker was SO enlightening and I just want to tell you how much it meant to hear your story. It certainly makes far more sense to me now as to why Trump got you out. It is a very strange historical shift we have lived through- I am definitely a Trump supporter today! I’m truly looking forward to reading your book. God bless you

That burns my ass more than the smoking ban. We need an app or a rule change to alleviate the problem.

I lived in Chicago under the governorship of Blagoyovich. I am mexican, czech, and french. He was a great governor. He took care of the seniors, gave them free transportation service, in Chicago that is very important because most people, especially the elderly, took the bus. Blago was a governor for the people. That is why the democrat establishment didnt like him. He was assessible. He didnt move into the governor's mansion. He didnt get rich or make deals to get rich while in politics. He lived in a middle class area in the Ravenswood community and still lives there. He was like Trump, an outsider. They didnt like him because he was popular with the people. Not surprising that Barry copied him, thats all those types do. Obama is hated in Chicago, the black community knows that Barry used them. Blago has that unique Chicago sense of humor and he should do a podcast. He is really funny and charming, and very down to earth. They really fucked him because he constantly went against the establishment democrats, and they were all in cahoots to get rid of him. Look what they did to President Trump, they did exactly that to Blago. I really felt bad when him and his family went through that. Blago was a typical politician but he wasnt a dishonest one. Everything he said he was right about. I wish he would start a podcast, he is an interesting guy!

What are you talking about, how do you think you get to become governor of Illinois? He was crooked as can be, he's just dumb enough to get caught on wiretap selling Obama's old senate seat. The issue everyone just seems to have is just that the democratic machine abandoned him when he got pinched?? He's a corrupt, self serving democratic politician from the Chicago machine, through and through.

I was in my early 20s when I heard the tape of my governor playing on the am radio, him and his wife, trying to sell/trade off the senate seat vacated by Obama. My gut reaction to seeing his name and his picture next to Tucker Carlson in a long form interview was gut turning. I didn’t want to think about him, and I didn’t want to even hear his voice again. But man oh man, I trust Tucker. - and I’ve been wrong before. I listened on iTunes, and I’m so glad I did.
At 22 I didn’t understand the charges, and I had no idea how corrupt the FBI was. I knew our state was corrupt, but I thought the feds were the good guys.
To hear Rod talk about Chicago politics as an insider, and to hear about his case after the fact, .. I can’t believe how partisan I was, or how naive I was. I’m so glad Trump helped him out, and I’m so glad he has the “testicular fortitude” to come out and talk about his party and the people he ran with back in the day. Nothing beats a first hand history lesson. I’m looking forward to his book.

Felt the same way, I’m like “Oh God, this person, talking about corruption? Who is he to speak.” But then I listened, because I remember that sometimes stories are warped. And I only remember hearing the side of news at that time, which now we now is very biased. Not only that but who better to talk about corruption then someone who the ey themselves have played the game? I’d rather hear them then the one that APPEARS holy but is two-faced behind closed doors.

I remember when this happened to him and listened to the tapes. I, at the time, didn't hear corruption in the tapes. He talked like I did. It scared me that he was being accused of a crime because he talked like me. It's a very old school union Democrat way of speaking. It's a rough way of speaking that is very direct and communicates that you are not f-ing around and are not to be f-ed with. His trial and conviction made me change the way I talked and negotiated as a union official. That tone and demeanor is completely absent in him now. It's also completely absent in me. I'm still union, but I left union politics 20 years ago. I also vote mostly republican now days.
