As a young Irish teenager who arrived n Peterboro in the early 90's I was lucky enough to be signed professional by the late great man who had a huge influence on my life on & off the pitch, RIP Gaffer
As a young lad growing up in Stanground i remember finding out Chris Turner lived a few streets away from me,he was already a Posh hero and me and my mates constantly knocked on his door ,like the true gent he was he welcomed us all in ,gave us drinks and biscuits and always signed pictures ,we sat in his front room and told us to work hard on our football skills and one day we would all be football stars,it gave us hope and in those days nobody cared at school ,we hung onto what we had ,and that was football.Chris like many players of his time was down to earth he respected those that followed the Posh,spent there hard earned money every game to stand on the terrace and support there team,in the times nowdays of rich over paid players Chris proved that there was a link with the working class and the football club,sadly that link had gone along with the legend that was Chris Turner ,rest in peace and be forever Posh.
Rest in peace "BIG 'UN' Chris was a great family friend who never forgot where he came from. A great man who never tired away from his roots. Legend isn't a word to describe him. He was better then that! Come on POSH fans. Lets sing his name load and proud. "There's only one Chrisey Turner!" God Bless.
My grandad was peterborough United player and they were mates and everything i saw Chris in town when I was younger he used to give me money to go buy sweets, R.I.P Chris . Never forgotten 😇
while i never saw him in any of his roles at the club, i have heard nothing but such great and lovely things about him, he is a big loss to all connected with the club
Very sad to hear of Chris Turners death. He was a great friend and support to me when I was club Chaplain. I shall celebrate Mass for him. Condolences to all the family. Fr John Shannon

Still sad thinking about what happened to the mighty Chris Turner. Thanks for the great times great man

Met him once when Wigan athletic played the posh. He was one of the nicest fellas I’ve ever met. A real gentleman.
