The garlic/keys/candle setup is an offering to Hekate. Heads of garlic are a traditional offering for Her, keys are one of Her symbols, and the candle is a stand in for Her torch. She is sometimes considered a triple goddess and is found at three-way crossroads, hence the three garlics and keys.
The Forest Gump tapes struck me as OCD. My sister has mild OCD and will do this with copies of certain books on occasion (thankfully, only about 10 or so, and almost always used). The "No opening the attic with the light on" sign instantly made my brain scream INFESTATION! They're trying to hide a bad bug problem.
a realistic explanation to the fly circle: probably some sweet liquid (like soda) fell on the floor, the flies drank from it, then got stuck and died and once the person woke up the stain was basically gone. i think this is the explanation bc the floor inside the circle looks slightly shinier than the rest of it and to me that looks like a dried stain
"You took it HOME???" Those words left my mouth at the exact same time. As I questioned the sum total of my experience on this Earth. Because WHY WOULD YOU TAKE IT HOME????
I always love seeing a new video from you. You're funny in a "LQTM" ( laugh quietly to myself) kind of way. And I haven't found anyone putting out any similar content at least none as well as you. Thnks!
You always find interesting things to react to, and your commentary is so relaxed. Gives a completely different vibe than other reaction channels, it's awesome.
Wyomingite here. We have 7 National Parks and a lot more that make our stare the polar opposite of boring. I was born and raised here, live here now, but have lived in other states as well. I’ve travelled all over the world. I can genuinely say Wyoming is one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen. Not only is Devil’s Tower here, we have Grand Teton National Park where there’s the stunning Teton Mountain range and Yellowstone National Park where a super volcano is located (Old Faithful.) We also have Cheyenne Frontier Days each year which has the world’s largest outdoor rodeo and many other events. It draws thousands of people from all over the world (and just ended today.) We have open plains juxtaposed against picturesque mountains and breathtaking forests. We have brilliant and colorful sunsets like none other I have seen in the world. We were the first state to give women the right to vote and we were a large factor in the completion of the Union Pacific Railroad. So, boring? Far from it.
14:00 i'm sure the kitty gets around just fine with his other senses! i convinced my friend to buy a baby goldfish born without eyes, and he's about 5 years old now! super healthy and strong and gets around nearly as well as any other goldfish. no need to feel pity for perfectly happy disabled pets, they just look wonky sometimes
After watching so much Bailey Sarian, my immediate thought with the Forrest Gump tapes were what if those are just jackets but the VHS tapes actually have something sinister recorded on them and that’s their way of not being found out? 👀
Wait so does anyone actually know why the peaches looked like that? Because I thought that the dangerous thing about botulism was that it’s not detectable by sight or taste, so it wouldn’t make the peaches look like that (I could be dead wrong though)
8:56 Usually when flies see another dead fly, it triggers a response to die themselves for some reason. There's a SciShow episode about it. Not sure about the circle though. 🤔🤔
I don’t mean this as an insult but you put me to sleep. You are so relaxing and not in a boring way. I usually struggle to fall asleep because I’m in my own head. But your videos are engaging enough to keep my attention and relaxing enough to make me fall asleep,
I don’t fall asleep to these but I get it. His voice is smooth and relaxing and no loud noises in these videos for the most part. I listen to Be Busta (scary stories) for sleep.
The keys, garlic and candle reminded me of something weird from over 25 years ago. I was a Deputy Sheriff in South Carolina. I was assigned to a very large part of the county and typically, there were only two or maybe three Deputies working at any given time. One night shift, at around 2 or 3 AM, I went to check on a boat landing located WAY down a long, unlit service road. We sometimes found folks smoking weed and/or making out and occasionally a stolen car. This night, as I approached the boat landing, I noticed a faint light coming from the middle of the paved turnaround. I parked, walked toward the light and saw that it was a small, votive candle. Around the candle, with their heads pointing toward the candle and their bodies arranged equidistantly in a star pattern, were three dead puppies. After taking this very f*cked up scene in, I suddenly realized that there were no vehicles or bicycles visible. Meaning, there was possibly someone on the water in a blacked out boat or hiding in the nearby wood line. Regardless, I carefully scanned my surroundings and made my way back to my patrol car and hightailed it away from the boat ramp.
Saw the explanation somewhere about flies in the circle: there could be a stain from the cup, like you drink something sweet and spill it a bit, so the bottom on the cup left the sweet circle spot for flies
Ok but, the first image looks quite like a certain lumberjack who build a mansion for a rich family and was promised a party but was told no and then got caught in a landslide before getting killed by an axe, then he takes revenge and turns everyone to wood before getting stopped by a 12 year old boy with his great uncles journal
i think the same phenomena that makes people menstruating sync up when they’re around each other can also explain the returning soldier effect, if women are getting pregnant right before the men leave for a long time we hormonally pick up on the absence of male pheromones and nature tries to compensate by having us make more males
As a Nebraskan, Wyoming actually has some pretty cool things. If you go to Devils Tower you can also visit the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone National Park. It’s all right there in the same area :)
11:58 That's right, you're way too young to have seen "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind" in theaters. Come to think of it, you would have to be pretty dang old like me to be able to remember seeing it in a theater.
Had a thought regarding the insane amount of Forest Gump VHS. Maybe the previous owner had a video rental store back in the day? That is the only reason I've been able to come up with. (Former video store clerk)
You've apparently never seen the Steven Spielberg movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." Devil's Tower features prominently in the movie, with one of THE MOST ICONIC movie scenes of all time using it as focal point.
10:05 theory: an elderly person was frantically opening meat packets and making meatballs on their way home because they forgot they were going to have company. And then they just shoved them in the bag the meat packs came in.
@9:17 dead things in a circle? maybe a sugar ring left by a cup that attracted and then stuck the flies like fly paper? idk i'm looking for fly tips because my apartment is full of them. I'd sadly take dead flies in any shape
wait I have more to say - - as a roomie, I'd be pissed if they brought home a death sentence - my roomie has an excessive amount of iRobot and he gifts a copy to his friend every year on his birthday lol - the keys and garlic are for Fae - flies look to be more witchy stuff
regarding the peaches; that's a woolies brand can which means an Australian posted it. so the reason it looks like sponges in oil is probably because it is
The keys with the garlic surrounding the candle is actually a offering to Hekate. As a witch, we use things associated with the Goddess or things she likes as offerings, like to show our appreciation or ask for her help in a ritual. 6:30

I learned about this in school a long time ago, and I believe that the Devil's Tower is there because the whole land used to be that tall, but everything eroded in, and that is the last bit.
there's a house in my city along a busy 4 lane road, part of a row of similar looking tract houses, that replaced it's one large front facing window with a flat wall. the only one without the big window. supposedly the old lady who lived there saw her grandkid get hit while playing outside and couldn't look out the window without remembering it, so they just got rid of it. dunno if it's true, but that's the story. could also just be the home of someone with a sun sensitive skin condition or something.
The flies being in a circle like that is strange, but flies actually die quicker if they smell dead flies, so them being so close together might not be too crazy
Oh! I didn't know there were more black houses in Germany. I used to live right next to one, we called it "The Black Box" (for obvious reasoning). It was pretty cool. Sadly it burned down, but luckily the family who lived there didn't get hurt - and I think they were always on the wealthier side, they built a new (white) house on the same spot shortly after. :)

The "do not open the attic" sign might've been because the attic was used to develop photos, since those get ruined by light exposure
I agree, my first thought was "darkroom". Darkrooms often have an outside indicator light to let people know not to open the door.
mine was moths. maybe the attic ain't fully sealed, and they get bugs that like the light
it said don't open especially if the light is on though. If it were for developing photos it would be fine to open if the light were on
@@rickyricardo9710 they were maybe referring to the light in the hall, rather than in the attic?
