Sub 10 sec on the 1/2 mile is actually possible on the vanilla game.
The Supra, Corvette C2, 60’s Camaro SS, 70’s Challenger, & Hemi Cuda, can do it in around 6 seconds. A few others closer to 8 or 9
It involves abusing the game of course. Basically max upgrades, tune it, then downgrade suspension to keep it from wheelying, and using key binds to skip gears & just powering through them with the nos.
