Ngl. I wasn't even a big fan of BMTH 10+ years ago, but damn I'd die to go back to the day when there was actually still a thriving heavy music scene.
Don't get me wrong, there's great heavy music being made right now, but the community is very weak to non-existent in most places whereas when I was a teenager it was everywhere.

Sam and Oli are frirends, so no wonder they made a song together. Wouldn't be surprised if they make a new one this year. BMTH coming back to the heavies and Architects leaning towards BMTH, would just make complete sense to me.

They’re not going to that style as much anymore, same with BMTH.
They rarely perform this song live, but I was lucky to be at a small London festival where both Architects and BMTH played. So it was only natural for Sam to join Oli in playing it live.

Their old catalogue is amazing. You should check out more of that album, "Chelsea Smile" is such a cool song. You should also check out "There is a hell" because that album has some of the best written metal songs I've ever heard.

These are my BMTH recommendations... but its really hard to choose because there are soooo many good ones
Others will bring up the even older albums, but "There is a hell believe me I've seen it..." is their most polished album in my opinion. That was the best era of BMTH in my opinion.

Oh Nik, you are making me nostalgic! I remember seeing them live when their album came out. Such a solid album. You really need to listen to there is a hell album. IMO, the catalyst album where Jona's guitar influences really pushed that change them you see in Sempiternal etc.
As for other core bands, check out Heart in Hands early stuff, its so good. As well as early hundredth before they became shoegaze

This was before Hollow Crown, which is even more insane. This was Ruin era Architects, they were barely known outside of the British mathcore/tech metal scene at this point. 2009 happened, Follow The Water got them a bit of attention, and the rest is history.

Dude you will LOVE the song on this album called Diamond Aren't Forever. It's like, one of my favorite breakdowns. As well as just about all of the songs on their album before this (1st studio album) called "Count Your Blessings". And maybe check out the 4 track EP "This Is What The Edge Of Your Seat Was Made For". The EP has this really weird tone where it's like they are using their bridge pickups throughout the whole thing, and almost no highs. It sounds kinda dope though.

This song is so good, I discovered this album last year and I think it’s my favourite BMTH album after Sempiternal despite it not being as mature/polished as their later albums.
This is literally my favorite BMTH song ever made. Sam Carter is such a God. Also, this was hands down their best album. (But, that's my personal opinion.)

It's nothing special guitar wise (I mean there is some groove but I think Nik would prob be able to cover those EP's in a day tbh) but his vocals and the concept albums he makes hit another level. Like old Plot in You with First Born and Wifebeater? Those are heavy but the lyrics are kinda cringy at times and stuff. The Plot in You stuff had some cool guitars though. Landon himself says he doesn't like those albums a lot and I can understand why, but there's no harm in enjoying it. Tewers also made this stupid song he really regrets making it is called "This Song Sucks" and "This Song is Worse" and it is hilarious it was def a joke but it kinda slaps. I am sure Nik will be intrigued. I wouldn't want him to react to "this song sucks" because Tewers asked the guy who has it uploaded to TH-cam to take it down in the comments and he ignored it, this was 6 years ago and it's still there aaaand yea
