This station is where Harry was for the rest of his life. After his run with the White Sox, he moved to Wrigley Field by 1982 where he became The Voice of the Cubs and he carried on the televised 7th Inning Strech which has been a Cubs tradition ever since.

Only one week later, on May 28, 1981, Jim Fregosi (seen with his infamous lucky jacket in the dugout), a former Angels shortstop, would be out as the team's manager. He would manage the White Sox in 1986! And then came the baseball strike in June of 1981.

Tony I only watched the last couple of Harry's Calling games in the early/mid 1990's on WGN as my family did not get cable until right before that time. Maybe because he was already a "Legend" there was games in which the Cubs was playing poorly, that I thought he did under the radar criticized them. However go to know that for almost his entire stint with the Cubs, Harry had to generally paint a "rosy picture' for the North Siders.

I had dinner a couple of times with Jimmy in the 90s. His stories were not an attempt to embellish or to put himself in a better light. Just the truth. When asked about one sensational catch he( almost) made in that right center corner jettison at Fenway Jimmy immediately snapped " yes I caught it but dropped it after I got knocked out. His mind was like a computer on demand. Trust me I tested him. Like you said, sharp as a tack! He was not as crazy as purported. But yes he used that to his advantage.
