- Most drivers see the 2.25-mile track at Pacific Raceways at a pretty good rate of speed. But there’s a lot to be learned about this celebrated course if you slow down to a walking pace.
Here’s your chance to watch ProFormance Chief Instructor Don Kitch, Jr. and veteran race driver Ross Bentley do just that. While they walk the full length of the track they unload a treasure trove of fascinating information and driving tips garnered from their racing careers.
Don has worked in every aspect of the motorsport industry and has raced at LeMans, Daytona, and many other tracks. Ross Bentley, author of Speed Secrets, is a renowned driver and performance coach. Both drivers have a number of championships under their belt, which gives them a wealth of expertise to share as they examine each bend in the road.
Don and Ross discuss braking points, finding reference points for turns, throttle steering, visualization, and much more. Don, you always mentioned how technical Pacific Raceways can be. After all these years, I can appreciate that statement. There is so much detail and hidden points to be discovered. I’m surprised it took me this long to come across this video but a huge thank you for sharing. I hope I can get back onto the track in the near future and beyond for those casual lap performance days.
