    Wow just seeing this out of the box th-cam.com/users/postUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.

      I have never had a grandpa. I gravitate towards grandpas worked at the elks lodge i was in heaven. I vicariously imagined how impressed my grandfathers would have been of me, when i head to Alaska by my self at 30 to go chase those salmon and hopes to find a barn door, all the knots ive learned and my heart and passion for being a proud american supporting the NRA, 2 A STRONG going out in my conversion van with my browning and striper bass stickers proudly on display. Ive only had one grandparent and that was my grandmother she could fish and hold her own next to any fishermen. amazing life lessons. TIP : she shared when i was very lil, that i always do river fishing is bury my heads in the bank deep as i can in the rocks silt clay i think of her often thank you grams for sharing your love of camping thank you mom for always showing me more than once and thank u dad for only showing me once , made me learn my knots real quick "you wanna fish?, you better learn how to tie a hook" im like 5 years old barely can tie my shoes lol next thing u know im trying diffrent fishing knots on my shor laces during school .
      Love this man great videos

      Everyone has to make money....Marketing is what it is, you take the sponsers you can get....Nobody forces anyone to buy any products, you really think we see what lures KVD really throws? He won a Classic on a 70's Rogue while pitching the Strike King Jerkbait in every magazine, show etc...Majority of lures guys use here in Florida to win money, rarely the ones they speak about at the ramp....If you are sponsered by Yum, or BPS for example...You don't think they have some Yamamoto products in the boat or only thowing Stik'os and dingers...Just saying. I never believe anything I read or hear from a pro regarding brands. I assume if throwing a mid-deep crankbait, they are throwing the proven models from Bomber, Rapala, Norman, Poe's, SK XD....Maybe a new Berkley or Spro, but either custom balsa cranks, something modified....They rarely are throwing the Ima $20 Crankbait they claim.

    • @jeffh2732
      @jeffh2732 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@ldsudduthhanover In all seriousness, who is building rods in the USA? Reels? I believe just about every company has production off shore in either China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Vietnam etc...As long as they company has good quality control, I believe the engineers in other countries are as good as any. Unfortunately, mostly R&D is done in USA and then they use overseas companies, otherwise you would be paying crazy money for same rod made in USA...Not all China products are Junk. Cheap reels are cheap reels, a $200 rod made overseas is a good rod if QC is good along with warranty etc....At least Roland is not pitching Livingston or Live Target.

      @@jeffh2732 honestly..... I have a "cheap" Korean reel that I bought on Amazon for less than $40 that (in my opinion) fishes better than my buddy's Shimano or my Daiwas. And the best part about it is if I drop in the lake, run over it with the truck, or have to drop it and run for whatever reason I'm not out a car payment.

    I was just thinking out loud, "I really like this Roland guy. He's a great teacher."
    Because honestly, most bass TH-camrs are kinda stingy when it comes to advice. And I get it; they're a tournament fisherman, and they don't wanna give all their tips and tricks away... fair enough. But damn man. Not only do they keep what tackle they use a secret, but they won't even explain what they're doing and how to fish it. Just highlights of them catching fish.
    Well heck Roland doesn't seem to mind at all. He'll show us and teach us everything he knows, just to help us catch bass. So thank you! I really appreciate your videos! You've helped me a lot.

    Fishing Clewiston for decades and having Roland run you off every spot on the Big O that held bass for years, that he somehow felt he owned,was a just something you did.
    He could be a real dick at times but all in all as he got older and less full of himself he has become a pretty cool dude.
    He's the great American fisherman, and he'll fish anywhere..

    Tell your son to stop getting advice from the Googan squad. Making videos with watered down content for youtube money is a scumbag tactic and extremely transparent, leaving the viewer with a bad taste in their mouth. When Scott made the "Scott Martin Fishing challenge" it was actually a really good. Now he's just exactly like that clown Flair. Im super happy to see you are making content that is useful and entertaining. Thank you.

    You got all those poles and you have but two hands, there's kids in my town that could use those. More kids need to spend time outside versus being in their house all day.

    • @dronus
      @dronus 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Clyde Pearce charity is never done, theres people in need all the time. These kids dont need a grandpa, some of these kids in town their grandparents are there parents. We have a private pond stocked with fish a mile out of town, and have a "lake" on BLM that's 10 miles away. We've had two suicides this year, one attempt, in a town of less that 1,200 people. Theres somewhere in the ball park of 43 kids from my kids school and next town schools, where they go to counseling every week, That is insane numbers. The graduating class of last year was 12 kids, that's it, small town k-12 in one school. Charity is never done, and there will always be those in need. What's wrong with giving away stuff you dont use, so that others can get the use out of them. I highly doubt those poles hold sentimental value, more value than giving a kid who's never fished the opportunity too?

    I loved watching you on TV ~30 years ago as a very young buck and I am very happy I found your YT channel. I was especially happy to see a shop half full of reloading equipment, I never knew you were a RO.

    Super Glue - Water soluble (Not smart)
    Black Sharpie Marker - Smells days later some fish are picky and wont even budge.

    @rolandmartinoutdoors Serious question: if black is the most invisible color to bass, then why are so many bass lures black? I’ve been wondering this about your tip to color the line. Thanks.

    Googan rods huh? Wondered how long it would be before you on board with them. Good move. You endorsing them will do them more good than anything they could try. I like the swivel trick on the texas style worm. I will try it, I know.

    Now that is a tip And a dam good one. Except almost 12,000 more people know about it. that means many more fish with a very sore jaw..

    Speaking of scents, what ever happened to Fish Formula? i used it all the time when i was just a teenager. My dad used to buy the out of date, old shrimp at the supermarket. Soak it overnight in the catfish formula. And caught huge cats and many of them. I saved the original,shad, and crawfish for the bass.

    If your going home with 25mph wind in north Texas, youll never fish. I fish worms all the time in heavy wind. You need a heavy weight and position yourself according to wind direction.

      That's true, you can fish worms in heavy wind but it's really tough!
