Wow! That’s such a great idea with the crossover in between pit stalls. That makes pit stops more realistic. If it’s just 2 racing whoever wins qualifying can choose which pit stop they want. The 1st before the crossover or the 2nd after the crossover.
Hi Massimo, I've always liked your layout but i think the improvements you talked about are going to bring it to the next level, cant wait to see it in action
I hope you feel better soon Massimo! I've always liked your layout. It has a nice mix of straights, turns and elevation changes. The scenery is awesome as well! Painting the surface is a great finishing touch. Sounds like you have a good plan for the changes. I would like to paint mine, but it is Policar track, so I am not tackling that challenge anytime soon lol. It would be great if companies molded their track in different color options!
Hi Dave, yeah the Policar track seems like it would be a little bit harder to paint. But I agree, it would be cool if manufacturers offered different colour options!
My track stays technical and tricky, downhill to hairpin, tight s turns, a jump down one straight. People who visit just have to figure it out. I drive it the most so it has to be interesting. I keep adding what ever I can fit.
@@MPSlotCar The jump REALLY throws the light cars for a loop, one really fast sidewinder motor slot it car can do wheelies off it.....rarely if ever lands well....its a hazard at times.
Great stuff bro! Always fun to reconfigure sections.. looking forward to the finished project. Also it creates a new track to database all of your cars lap times.. it will be fun to re-index all of your cars to the layout.
Thanks brother! Yeah you would know best, just going threw that track overhaul. Yeah that part will probably be the most fun, resetting the leaderboard! Cheers brother ✌🏼
Think your layout runs and looks great- and with your tweeking you have in mind, will make it flow even better! I know with my own layout, Ive tried even using r#3 turns ( where i have the space) to try and make a more faster flow...
Thanks Clint! Yeah that’s the end goal, I just want it have a better flow and more user friendly for when I have friends racing. Nice, how did it work out for you?
Well --- instead of having a rather sharp turn, i kinda changed my long straight into a bigger ark, to give the cars a chance to settle down, instead of an abrupt turn. Hope that kinda makes sense- ha!@@MPSlotCar
Massimo always loved your track might be why mine is similar. I was surprised you use R1 but all corner lane changes are only built in R1 presently. Hope you get to feeling better.
Hi Eric, thanks brother! Yeah it always seems to surprise many that I used mainly R1s. Always wanted to change it up to some wider radius corners, it’s time! Thanks man, appreciate it ✌🏼 cheers
Get well soon dude. That's a great walkaround of your track and I think the changes will make that last sector into one that sorts the men from the boys as they say. Have you thought about using the lane narrows kit as a pit lane entry? You get a more gradual lane change over 2 std straight lengths which would set the 124 cars up better for that second pit lane sensor. I'm thinking of trying this for my no mag 132 cars as the regular pit entry throws most of them out of the slot at much more than a crawl.
Thanks Dave. Haha I like that “sorts the men from the boys” Rahul mentioned that a while back, so I’d use that narrowing kit after the first pit entry correct??
Thanks for the tour. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one using R1 curves to their fullest. Great job on you modeling skills too. Did you paint all the white lines on the starting section of the track? not the start/ finish but the position markers and those guide lines for the pit. Maybe its in another video but what type of paint did you use for that?
Hi, thank you so much! Here’s a link to paint pens I used: Paint Pens for Rock Painting, Stone, Ceramic, Glass, Wood. Set of 12 Acrylic Paint Markers Extra-fine tip a.co/d/cgcSWN6 Hope this helps! ✌🏼
Great track layout Massimo! Just wondering where you got your car display cases? I'm looking for display cases to store the cars but not much success yet. What I do see is very expensive. Thanks for showing us your layout up close.
Hi Marie, thanks buddy. Yeah I’m planning on doing a video on it once the weather improves a little and I can get back to painting in the garage. Hopefully soon 🤞🏼
Good morning sir: that's great, but why not put up , for example a Lamborghini from Italy, sideways and and a Porsche from carrera, than we are talking about race ? Whatever give it a try. Best regards Knut
Hi Knut, Yeah eventually I’d like to have a different slot car manufacturers going head to head! It’ll be a lot easier once I get the omni box installed.
Hi Roger did I end up responding to you in another comment? I did a video on the process I used to paint the track using a primer and a black and a white for an overspray effect.
Hi Mark, thanks for the sub! You’re correct, the original layout on the channel was on a 6x12 table. I’ve since updated the track and table to a 8x13 (13 and a half to be exact).
@@MPSlotCar 6x12 is pushing it for my space but i bought a 1/24 digital carrera set used and fell in love with the size. Hopefully i can do a really decent layout for a 6x12. Can't wait to see how you and Rahul do with the omni slotbox.
Ciao Massimo! I’ve long admired your track and was wondering if you race only with magnets? Or magnetless as well? I ask because now that you’ve shown your tracks parts makeup, I see that you are using all R1 curves.
Ciao Peter! Thanks buddy, I do run non-mag. My reviews are straight out of box cars so I keep them stock. Otherwise I enjoy both mag and non-mag running. Which is another reason as to why I want to make the changes to the final sector.

Hi Frankie sorry I missed this comment! To be honest I didn’t keep track of costs when building, the original was built during Covid when I was off form work with just lumber that I had laying around. I’m kind of scared to see the total of track, scenery and cars that have been purchased 😅
@@bchez2314 awesome! there’s a bunch of factors to consider. Space being one. I prefer this track system, the Carrera Digital, it’s a bigger track than most which takes up more room. But I personally enjoy the digital aspect of the racing. If you’re just starting out you can try a smaller set to see if you like it and expand from there. There’s the Carrera Evolution system, (not digital) but it’s a cheaper starting point. Scalextric is another big home brand, the track is slightly smaller.
@@MPSlotCar Thanks for the response. I to like the digital idea and Carrera. Any particular starter set you recommend? I know I will want to expand as well. I dont want too small as I want to have fun and not get bored too quick. I have a space that's about 12X12. I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks
@@bchez2314 no problem! In terms of sets, and since you want to expand anyways I’d say go for a set that comes with wireless controllers over wired. There’s the DTM Bull and Horse set, 2 cars 2 wireless controllers and the track is about 6x9 I believe. There’s also Race to Victory set. If you don’t care about wired or wireless there’s a bunch of options available.
