Brilliant dual use idea. Great for solo camping too, or even on the deck. Thanks for sharing! 👍

That is a great idea. My wife and I just bought a house in southern Michigan and I'm going to make one of those. Great instructional video!
    Thanks.

@@jefflocke9029 thank you Jeff, I watched a lot of videos from different guys making these also but I wanted to build something that had more than one purpose. This one fits the bill. I hope you enjoy using it at your new place.

I like your mods to this idea; I just built one and your cooktop idea is great. Back to the workshop !

Well, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I like the idea of the portable fire pit but then I thought about cutting that top out so I could use it as a cookstove also. It did work out pretty good. This one will be going up to my cabin in the upper peninsula Michigan. Thanks for watching.

Have one already built. Do like the option of having a cook top. Will have to modify my lid. Nice job.

I did not see any other ones that were done like that. I thought it was a good idea to have a couple of uses for the Fire pit. And it works great. Thanks for checking it out.

Best version of this project I've seen. Nice work.
Would be curious to see the legs fold up, and a handle fitted to the top - Maybe a future version.
    very cool. Nice work

Well, thank you for checking it out. Funny thing that you said a handle and folding legs I actually have an idea on how to do that. I think I’ll make another one in an upcoming video. I am heading up to my off grid cabin for a week and I will be using this one up there while I work on the cabin and property. I have a few different DIY builds on my channel. I enjoy doing that kind of stuff.

@Learnandrelax I will do that, it’s kind of a working vacation, but I know there will be some fishing involved.

Nice video the JB weld was different. I have never thought of doing that i just mounted the Turkey Burner with the bottom bolt & the brass hose bolt. I have two 3/16" drilled holes for the air mixer mosty yellow flame with a little blue. So currently can not ever cook on it.. But i liked your video

This was kind of like an experiment for me. I like the idea of the portable gas fire pit, but I also wanted to cook off of it. After a couple of experiments, I realized the small small hole in the ammo lid did a great job of directing the flame for cooking and all you have to do is remove it for the fire pit. I welded the expanded metal inside the bottom of the lid just to help hold the cinder rocks in the can If it was to accidentally tip over. So far I’m really liking it. Thanks for watching.

Jalapeno dust and the cheese makes it delicioso! I think Sir Curmfance would love the relaxing heating feature too.

Thank you. One of the times I was up there working on my cabin last year. They had a fire ban in the area but the nights were still cool. So we ended up staying inside with a little buddy heater running. With this portable, propane, fire pit, we can set it up outside and either cook on it or stay warm while enjoying the evening.

Well, you could give it a try. That’s the first time I built one. I wanted something like that so I watched a few videos and picked out things I liked and things I didn’t like and added a couple of my own ideas like the cookstove on top and it turned out pretty fair. It works awesome.
