As a physical therapist, working primarily with seniors and older adults, I found that a fair amount of my patients are unable to lay on their backs without supporting their head with a pillow. Of course it is great to do without a pillow as it does not put your neck in as much flexion during performance of the exercise, but I have found use of a pillow makes it so more of my patients are able to participate in the exercise. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.
I used to do this ‘bridge’ every day as part of a strengthening routine for my pelvic area but now I get a horrible cramp in only one calf every time I try to do it. Any idea why? MD has no idea why🤨
I do have an idea as to why this might be happening. Since I have not evaluated you I can't say definitely but I am thinking it might be related to neural tension (nerves that are not gliding properly). I don't have any videos about neural tension. I will make a video for you this weekend explaining how to test for it and a few different exercises to potentially help.
Glute exercise can be challenging. I am working on a video right now for beginners working on glute strengthening. I'll post the link here. Of course check with your physician... Maybe there is an underlying reason that makes it difficult.
Vedio is not playing
Sorry it was processing. It is ready now.
First time I have ever seen this exercise done with a pillow supporting the head.

Glute exercise is difficult for me.
