Hello Mr. Hadrien you must keep doing this kind thing and don't pay attention to those kind of negative comment. This kind of video are good for the whole planet and for educational purpose. You are doing the right mission that music need.
daaaamn the thing that's dope about feraud is not the speed of his playing but all the colors he fits into places most bassist wound just fill with pentatonic runs... he channels zawinul's spirit here just as much as he does jaco's. he's too fuckin nasty.
Thank you for keeping the best music in the history of mankind going... fantastic playing. Comparisons to original WR are not fair- how can anyone compare? These guys ROCK and are worthy of listening. Hope to catch you live some day. PLEASE stay together! Jaco and Joe would be most proud. (Saw WR live in '77 with Heavy Weather, met Jaco afterward. They were all about MUSIC, not technique and one-upmanship. Give these guys credit, they're deserving and very talented musicians in their own right.)
please please don t compare great musician and mother fucker footballer...it s not the same world and ronaldinho can t understand good music like that....
"Those with ears let them hear " Those without there is no hope for you..........Joe Zawinul has left a fine legacy and it's safe hands.Thank you so much for posting this ......
The thing about Feraud is he is playing complex intervals. He has technique out the well everything but can play anything. As Berlin always said its chord tones, not scales. He is insane
Just spectacular musicianship all around. Fantastic bass solo with that drum beat. Hadrian is out of this world. Years of experience in those hands. What a great bassist!
This band was actually put together by Tony Zawinul (Joe's son) so they are bound to be smoking! Plus the fact that Hadrien and Scott are simply beasts on their respective instruments. Very inspiring!
So good to hear music of the great ZAWINUL with Hadrien Feraud in the bass chair....I truly hope a CD/DVD will be forthcoming from this union of great musos..!!!
True, Feraud is a great noodler, but the real greatness gets overlooked here. I think Scott Kinsey has one of the best key solos ever, starting at 5:25. Every note is epic, it's just beautiful, lyrical and haunting. Thank you, Mr. Kinsey.
I agree. Bass solo was great but, Scott Kinsey's keyboard solo & his accompaniment with that sax solo was awesome. The sax player killed his solo as well. Str8 Fire!!! GREAT BAND!!!
Kinsey's solo is on the same level for sure - you're correct every note choice perfect over those great chord changes. I feel that many audiences seem to have a problem understanding/valuing/applauding Keyboard solos. Maybe no ear for harmony...
I meant his signature bass burner sounds too fat. It's a Ken Smith Burner with steroids lol 18 volt preamp which is good. I'm not a hater at all. Check out all my comments before star writing bullshits. See ya!!!!!
+bemolable I would add that the bass in this video is not his signature burner but an old burner from the 90s ;) so stop writing shit and make yourself knowledgable , you don't know about shit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Talent no doubt... but less is more. It doesn’t sing nor tell a story. Instead it feels more like an auctioneer rattling off a series of prices at an inhuman tempo.
In this setting, doing that tune, they, especially Hadrian Feraud (French)... 🤷♀️ Who would, have expected that..? A French guy, playing Fretless Jazz-Bass, so well... Usually, The French, are more uccupied, with eating well, taking care of their legacy, and mistreases.. 🤭 But, not this guy...! He's Jaco Pastorious numero dos...! ❤❤❤ He's great - when he bothers...! Sometimes, he doesn't bothers, at all. Typical French.... 🤫🍾🍸😍🍾
But, remember - never judge a book, by the cover. Salute you, Hadrian... 🎸🎶 Take it away...! Blow them away.. (From a Jazz-Bass player, doing TC Electronic Shaker Vibrato too Jaco-Bona wise... 🤫😉
Es un buen bajista Hadrien -sin duda- pero después de escuchar el sólo de Jaco, esto que acabo de escuchar deja un malísimo sabor de boca. Lo siento...
Not here. No. A better tribute group which lives and breathes Weather Report is Market Place. They have a style and personality that draws you in. This cover of Palladium is a perfect example. They sound like a natural extension of the pre-Black Market lineup. They take it to another level that is anything but cereberal clinical wankery. Actual musical maturity: th-cam.com/video/n_UpyDMZxoU/w-d-xo.html
That’s not at all what Feraud does. He plays with skillful emotion and power in a way that makes you want to watch more. Plus, he has an amazing selection of notes over the chords. AND, he can play lightning fast. He does not play random notes at all by any means. Even though he is not as innovative as Jaco doesn’t mean he’s not a good bass player.
Jamie, I love Billy, he's amazing...a totally unique rock legend with his tapping, amazing tone and all... and Talas (his first band) was great. But we're talking here about Hadrien Feraud, a world-class bassist with a deep knowledge of harmony, not your typical pentatonic player. He's meaning every note he's playing and he's hearing them in a musical context. And I'm quite convinced Billy would tell you the same. But this is not an olympic competition after all! Let's enjoy both Billy's and Hadrien's superior playing. :-)
1:20 the lick
Omfg no way 😂😂😂

This is Some of the best footage of Hadrien ! The entire Band is just Smokin
Thank you Scott Kinsey :-)
Hadrien is outstanding on this...Just ferocious! Tres Formidable...
Smoking band too....My man Katisse on horns-yeah!!
daaaamn the thing that's dope about feraud is not the speed of his playing but all the colors he fits into places most bassist wound just fill with pentatonic runs... he channels zawinul's spirit here just as much as he does jaco's. he's too fuckin nasty.
Marvellous stuff from the band, Joe and Jaco would be smiling listening to this.

Ronaldinho on drums!Btw great bass solo ,amazing band!
Odyssey Vrontelis hahahahhha
please please don t compare great musician and mother fucker footballer...it s not the same world and ronaldinho can t understand good music like that....
This is the 21st Century Jaco!!! Jaco and Weather report would be happy with the amount of influence they have had on this band!
Hadrien Feraud: superior technique, tone, and hair.
I LOVE HADRIEn's Version!!
Port of Entry; I really thought people overlooked this song, thank you!
Hadrien Feraud is an obvious total bad ass. I know Scott Kinsey from Tribal Tech. Always loved this guy.
In solo of organ I can’t see the tunes of Joe Zawinul…even so, thank you(all) so much for making JOE ZAWINUL’name live.
In one word....."sublime~!"
Great bass solo, tune - and great keyboard solo over great chord changes
"Those with ears let them hear " Those without there is no hope for you..........Joe Zawinul has left a fine legacy and it's safe hands.Thank you so much for posting this ......

He is insane
what is chord tones? Berlin commented on his playing?

Bassist rips it; wow. "Port of Entry" is the first Jaco performance I ever heard, amazing then and now.
Hadrien Feraud...Effortless Mastery...wow...que dire...Vous êtes un Maître M. Feraud ! :-)
Un véritable Elixir de jouissance auditive
Bass King!👏👍

Maaaaaasive thumb up! This guy is beyond reach...
there's just no way jaco wouldn't be proud af of these fine folks
whew
There was a time when I hated this kind of state-of-the-art fusion (being an eternal Weather Report fan!). But now this sounds good somehow... :)
Hadrien and Matt Garrison are the best bassists in jazz, I wish they'd do something together.
I didn't know that ronaldinho good on drum lol
Very clever!! Lol
1:20 The Lick
Hadrien is smoking hot.....nice tone.
Is this bass tuned B-E-A-D G or E-A-D-G-C ? Amazing playing.
+Tom Howland B E A D G
listen mate
Regular tuning
FREAK.
OF.
NATURE.
Thats shadow of Jaco Pastorius on the Bass

A million notes a minute but I just don't feel the groves and music from Hadrien. I know i'm in the minority but...
Adrien has a monster technique but his solo is far away from jacos live version. Jacos solo is more direct, shorter and has a raw sound.
I totally agree. It's a lot of notes, a terrible lot of notes. But leaving out is an artform too. Too little soul. Groove.....
Talent no doubt... but less is more. It doesn’t sing nor tell a story. Instead it feels more like an auctioneer rattling off a series of prices at an inhuman tempo.

Hate to rain on everything .. but ... does this fast fingered bass player ever play music?
Or is it just always "lets see how fast I can play"

As Stewart Copeland said "jazz is so fun to play, but really boring to listen"
