I worked with this guy for one day. He is an absolute beast. He was stacking the hand trucks faster than I could run them off of the ramp. He has excellent technique as well. Getting all the boxes off quickly is an art. If you stack them poorly, they fall off. Sometimes it's faster to use the ramp than the pallet jack. Every stop has a specific way to get the job done quickly without damaging anything. It's also very hard to scan and stack at the same time without losing track of the packages.
Dealing with the customers professionally is another art that's difficult to master, especially when the trailer is loaded poorly and you're exhausted.
I lasted two weeks before I threw in the towel. All the guys I met at the yard were great. I enjoyed working with them. They have a positive attitude and will tell you what you need to do to improve. The job can be tremendously rewarding when the weather is good, and the trailer is loaded properly. If they gave me an option to work 4 days a week, I probably would have stayed longer. 6 days is too much IMO.

Appreciate the kind words my guy. Hope all is well with you & your family. Keep it positive as always, I’m glad I was able to show you the ropes before venturing out. Wish you nothing but the best , keep trucking.

Wow kinda hard to believe that this guy first day. He moves like his done this before. I’m on my second week. And I’m still looking on the side of the ramp coming down extra careful because my dolly still caches the side of the ramp. And this guy is running down on the ramp on his first day.

First couple of months are the worst. After that it gets easy and routine. Still wouldn't recommend doing it beyond 2 years though.
