Listening to Caitlin Clark talk so very intelligently, I went back in to check how her college grades were. Turns out she had a GPA of 3.6! And all while being an amazing BB player! She's 1 in a million!

But I admire Taurasi's humilty and honesty in her admitting the Clark effect and phenomenon. Few players do this. Carrington does not have this sincerity and honesty. Which casts major doubt that her foul on Clark's eyes was unintentional. If it was, she should have apologized profusely to Clark for the inadvertent foul. She has not.

I've watched a lot of the W this year, because of CC to be sure.
And yes. Taurasi made some comments early that could have been mistaken as negativity. And yes. She made her comments after the season that corrected her challenging comments from before.
But... the W, in general, treated CC with absolute disdain.
Excluding her from participating in the Olympics, the All-star game, 3-point competition and "all the reindeer games" was pure hate.
The media didn't create that or 'spin' that.
The Olympic selection was more than a slight, more than a slap in the face, it was exactly what it appeared to be. An insult that can't be corrected for FOUR F-ING years.
ROY was impossible to withhold and honestly, she should have been the League MVP. Even if her stats didn't qualify her as the league's "best player", what she demonstrated was that she was the League's MOST VALUABLE PLAYER. She singlehandedly brought network coverage, sponsors, fans, ratings, merchandise sales, TH-cam views and MONEY to the league.
No other single player, in the history of this mediocre league, can say that.
Yes. Tarausi gave CC the shine she deserved from the beginning. But she also had the influence to change the narrative about CC's absolutely deserving spot on that roster.
And IMO, Tarausi probably spoke to exclude CC from that roster.
    You can't change my mind.

Reality indeed as arrived. Without the Fever and Clark in the playoffs, attendance and attention on these games will take a nosedive. The WNBA was so so before Clark came into the WNBA. It will sink to this so so status without Clark. She is exciting to watch. It is boring to watch Wilson, Stewart, Ionescu, Thomas, etc. They have been in the WNBA a long time, and without Clark, the WNBA will sink to its lethargic level that it was before Clark.

I’m waiting for the exact thing, the attendance numbers from here on out, as I haven’t read very many comments of anyone saying that they would continue to watch now that the Fever and CC are out of the playoffs! I certainly don’t care about any of the remaining tournament!

The only time I watched women's basketball was when Sheryl Swoopes was local, playing at Texas Tech. The next time I watched it was when the boys were in high school and we watched the girls play as well. And now, I follow Caitlin Clark. And as someone else already mentioned, I've never heard of the other women.

It's wild to me how WNBA players are so hostile to new colleagues. I am sure there are women here that Caitlyn Clark looked up to when she was younger and still aspiring to join the league. Imagine supposed WNBA greats, instead of being the role model that inspires and encourages kids, discourage and bring them down instead.

Before Caitlin Clark hit my shorts feeds this summer, I'd never watched one minute of woment's basketball. Not interested. I'd never heard the names Diana Taurasi, A'ja Wilson, Angel Reese, any of the rest of them. Dinotaurasi was arrogant and dismissive of Clark. Her attitude about the Olympics sickened me. She was good enough in 2004 to be on Team USA as a rookie, but in 2024, Caitlin was "too inexperienced" to make the grade. So... Taurasi SAT THE BENCH for the game against France, and still got her 6th gold medal, unearned, and undeserved. The medals should be stripped from her and the rest of the USA team and given to the WNBA team who BEAT THEM before the Olympics. She has tarnished her legacy. Go away, DT, no one wants to hear your shyte.

Whether new or a seasoned player, athletes play to win. Like anyone, you want recognition, a promotion, be bumped up to leading, then you need to show you are THE one for that spot. Saying that's been out for years, don't hate the player, hate the game. Caitlin brought it for her team, if she hadn't it would be like why play. I can imagine all the baby ballers out there watching, studying Caitlin's move, giving them that drive to be the next Caitlin, and there will be one day, just like the legends before Caitlin, who are all a part of history.

At 1st Taurasi was right to say the WNBA is a more powerful game. Clark put in the work and a great player like Taurasi sees it. I'm glad to know that Taurasi has the insight of the game to see and understand the skill level Clark brings to the game. And on top of all that Taurasi is the super hero Clark looked up too and dreamed of being like her one day. That's some very powerful stuff, that Taurasi aided in the drive to make Clark what she is today, and what she is yet to become. Everyone is a super hero to someone, whether you wish to be or not. Taurasi is a hero, not to just Clark but a world of young girls trying to be any thing like her. So i leave with this, "Taurasi never close your eyes to the things to come. As your role in this game of life is more powerful then you can imagine.

While DT came off as arrogant at the start, she never participated in any of the hating and the physicality. She just focused on basketball. And when the basketball reality of CC hit her, she recognized the greatness! Much respect to her really. And if CC has the longevity that DT has (barring injuries), Caitlin will smash DT's all time scoring record. Would be so cool to see!

Clark has never disrespected anyone. Never. All she does is praise players, past and present. And all she wants to do is play basketball and excel. She shuns the silly, petty drama. Meanwhile, many opponents and past players attack her verbally AND physically. What the hell has Clark ever done to any of them? Bitter, jealous, nasty people don’t attract fans. Just look at attendance and viewership stats.

I don't mind that the Fever is out of the playoffs. The outrage is the bullying she had to endure and the crap refs. It would be stunning if Caitlin just left the WNBA after setting records and getting viewers. Let this league that nobody cared about go back to getting high school basketball attendance and being on welfare of the NBA.

I think Taurasi's getting a bum rap, here. What she said about reality is reality. Stand-out rookies always get a rough ride year one. The, "welcome to the big time, kid," reception. It's a rite of passage. A test of mettle. It's tradition.
And CC answered the bell. Above and beyond. Took all they threw at her with grace and grit. She will shine next year.
And you, sports media, really should quit trying to drum up controversy where it doesn't exist.
And you, fans, old and new, including CC fans, need to grow a pair and dump the racism and anti-lesbianism.
