You know, being an OLDER guy at 64, I remember when Bird and Magic hit the NBA. Oh yea there was some rivalry but there was respect for the those 2 rookies from the veterans because they realized just how special and good they really were. This young lady who set the scoring college record was, at least to me, being shut down by the old guard, being disrespected, and there only play was to keep her off the Olympic team. A team I add that had it not been for about a half inch, a 2 become a 3, you go to overtime, and I think they loose. The WNBA is doing very well at the moment and it is about the new players and the talent that is coming in, not about the old players.

What a completely uninformed comment. It's like u don't have a clue what DT did for women's hoop and what she has done for the league. More than a few would say that if it were not for skilled exciting players like DT, this league may not even exist today. DT is inarguably one of the best female hoop players to have EVER PLAYED THE GAME.
Also, go back and listen to that original DT\Sue Bird tape. At no time did she ever insult CC - she never even mentioned her name! She merely espoused an opinion shared by 99% of this who knows hoop, that the bigger, faster, more experienced veterans in the game have a natural advantage over rookies. THAT IS TRUE SND WILL ALWAYS BE TRUE IN ANY SPORT. BUT, she also said there are great rookies who won't be as affected by those facts. WHAT DID SHE SAY THAT WAS somehow denigrating CC? NOTHING! WHAT DID SHE SAY WRONG? NOTHING! What did she say in a snide or insulting tone? NOTHING!
GO ahead and talk about CC'd greatness bc it is apparent. But DONT DO IT AT THE EXPENSE OF A HOF PLAYER WHO WILL ALWAYS BE IN ANY DISCUSSION OF ALL TIME GREATS. Grow UP!

DT was the best, but now she is 42. Youngsters were bound to take her place. ThT is life. BUT she was the GOAT for a while. ThT is all anyone can do. Nothing lasts forever. Do not take away from who she was. That is her’s for life.

  • @b-zoneonroku2020
    @b-zoneonroku2020 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

I have been calling on Taurasi's apologists all year to name one great play, one signature move, one buzzer beater, one great performance, ANYTHING of note to justify her claims of "GOAT" status. One thing. And not one person can name a single one.
    Not one.
No player with a goose egg for great moments, great plays or even a signature move is a GOAT in any sport. Let's just call Taurasi what she has been going all the way back to her college years. A passenger on superteams with a very big mouth. She's as pathetic as Megan Rapinoe was. (Another passenger who's most famous goals were all in garbage time of a game that was already effectively over.) And her last 2 golds were not earned, they were participation trophies.
Women's basketball is a pathetic joke and Taurasi is the poster child for it.

The fact that she can put the ball in the basket most of the time but still pass it to teammates for them to also shine is why i respect Clark so much.
That's how you build trust. No wonder she is doing exceptionally well.

  • @user-tv2rp5iz2s

Taurasi was right. Caitlin did struggle at the start, but that was because her team mates had not yet adjusted to her kind of play - fast, furious, and pinpoint quarterback passes. Once they adjusted, Caitlin and the Fever team started to go places - from bottom dweller to possible playoff status.

  • @jpman9795

She's doing this the right way. All the haters out there wanting to see her fail...and she just keeps getting better...and making all of her teammates better as well. She's very unselfish with the ball and seems to look for an open teammate before deciding to shoot herself.

Trashing a player like Caitlin Clark is a big mistake. For one thing, it
motivates them to exceed. They actually play above themselves. For another, social media is watching
    and listening to everything. Fans
    will show sympathy toward
the victim. That's the sixth player affect. With Caitlin Clark you
may find that your home game
    can sound like an
    away game.
