I think *THE* richest after he inherited one of the biggest Chinese fortunes from his dad in Qingdao, who died at 52 in September 2020, after having invested much in Z.Tao, even helping him out of EXO in 2015 and helping him establish his L Tao agency in 2018. Z.Tao is said to have made a large donation to his birth city and province, but that will hardly make a dent in his pile or prevent his private jet to fly. From a news item online : "The late Mr Huang shared in a 2016 interview that he owns four to five mansions in Qingdao alone, and that his Beijing company has assets of over 20bil yuan (US$4bil). Zhongdong was named the seventh richest man in Qingdao back in 1997." So the extent of Z.Tao's wealth is also only to be speculated about, but probably more than $4bil even after taxes 🙄
Btw taxes are a real concern for celebs in China: Deng Lun got to know this painfully in the past few weeks... and we all know of the sad story of Fan BingBing whose net worth was estimated at $100 million while she was fined $127 million in 2018 for tax evasion.
Z.Tao stars in a handful of interesting movies and dramas since 2015. He received recognition for his leading roles in the dramas The Negotiator (2018) and The Brightest Star in the Sky (2019), among the 4 movies and 6 dramas he appears in.
Z.Tao currently stars in Legally Romance, which I am quite enjoying at mid-point. He is a good actor & good singer, rapper, musician, businessman... at the top of his career to date, although not yet 30 (he is 28 yrs old while his former EXO colleague Luhan is 31).
For those who are fond of trivia, Huang Zitao was found #29 in Top 30 Most Handsome Chinese Idols in a 2021 poll ; his fans numbered over 11 million last year and are called VVHL or "Hailang" (=ocean waves). I am not quite there yet, just an explorer in the fascinating world of media trends, cdramas and music. 😄
