- Franz Beckenbauer accepts the Laureus Lifetime Achievement Award 2007
Der Kaiser, as he is known on the field, was twice named European Footballer of the Year, Beckenbauer appeared 103 times for West Germany and played in three FIFA World Cups and two European Championships. He is one of only three men, along with Brazil's Mário Zagallo and France's Didier Deschamps, to have won the World Cup as a player and as a manager.

Beckenbauer wasn't at the time of the prize the only world champion as player and manager. Zagallo from Brazil had done it years before as a player (1958) and manager (1970)
Maybe abt captain. Zagallo was never a influence person while playing in his career.
