The main reason this show was cancelled, aside from the dark imagery and the fact that it was not well received at the time, probably due to being marketed at a young demographic while being more suited to older viewers, was that it was a really expensive cartoon to produce, due to the rich detail of the animation. Remember, This was made in the early 2000's and yet the quality of the animation is still so sharp, with very striking colors. Most cartoons from that era have not aged as well in comparison, with the exception of Samurai Jack.
Plus how Johnen didn't get along very well with Nick executives, especially when they wanted him to change the show to fit younger audiences. (aka make it bright and happy)
It's funny, his response to Nick's request to make it more "child friendly" was putting bloody Gir in the intro. So shit because I love Invader Zim. They should bring it back and just aim it at an older age group because there are still plenty of fans and potential fans for that disturbing yet highly entertaining and humorous TV show. RandomGirl119 Well I remember being one of the only people, as far as I knew, who watched the show consistently when it first aired, around 2001, when I was 11. Few in my peer group had even heard of the show when it aired, unlike Spongebob or Fairly Odd Parents say. Those who had heard of it I remember hearing a lot of hate for it. It only gained popularity after cancellation. This is why I never really gave much notice to groups who came about, like 10 years later, who campaign to bring it back; I mean if the so-called fans really liked the show for its content, other than the cutesy t-shirts and pendants of Gir, they would have acted sooner. Personally, and this is just my opinion, I think a lot of Jhonen Vasquez's work is mediocre and overrated. It really doesn't stick to reality. Heck, if Invaders were real they'd probably be the most disgusting things ever (like, they'd be carrying all kinds of germs, diseases, and parasites, and they'd smell like something dead. You know, typical feral creatures).

Not necessarily. Think of invasion/colonization of far-off lands on earth. When the Spanish came to the Americas, sure they were much more technologically advanced than the natives, but they were far from clean, which massively helped them. If invaders cultivated a natural environment full of deadly space diseases on their home world, and just gave their own species strong immunity and preventative care, a single invader could wipe out an entire planet just by showing up and not washing their hands.

@Marcos Cárdenas Rebecca Sugar is big fan of Invader Zim that she make Peridot base of him. Plus, she and the creator of Invader Zim make book together
It's sad Invader Zim is now only remembered because of Gir. Seriously, I was talking about Invader Zim to someone, and this random girl suddenly jumped in to the conversation saying: "Isn't that the show with, like, the little robot dog thing?" I answered with a hesitant yes and she just laughed annoyingly "Oh yeah, I know that one!" I was very tempted to ask if she even knew who the main character even was. It was funny but frustrating at the same time. Anyways, I personally always loved the show (although when I was young I was scared of the intro sequence.) Even when I was about six to seven, there was a few times when I watched IZ. Scary, yes. Intriguing, hell yes. I remembered Zim above all, and for some odd reason I also remembered the moose from A Room with a Moose, haha. Of course, my mom saw this and I wasn't allowed to watch it anymore. There was also those times when it was on NickToons and I could watch it there when I was alone. On a side note, I also love/loved Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. I love the character designs and it manages to be funny while also managing to still be serious at times. Plus, Johnny is just so entertaining, and the dialogue that comes from him is just pure gold at times. *I think my spine exploded, but I'm fine!* Yeah, but basically, I've always held a sort of fondness for the show and Zim never really left my mind all the way up to this moment. 'Tis a shame that it ended so soon, because it had too much potential to just be dropped like that. I would have loved to see what would have happened if they at least let Jhonen go on with the second season. That would literally be the best thing ever. Sorry for the wall of text. I tend to ramble. That's all I had to say.
It pisses me off to no end when people only know Gir. I mean seriously, they know Gir but they don't know the main character who's name is IN THE TITLE!? But I was 'bout ready to kick the girl's knee out. Too bad the vice principal was about five feet away. And, I too hate it when people are like "OMFG GIR IS SO CUTE AND ASDFGHJKL;" because no one remembers Dib or Zim and it makes me sad since they are the antagonist/protagonist (both of them kinda play the antagonist and protagonist)
Leaf Pool Haha yea! i agree with you on that one. They should'v made "invader gir" now that would be something, haha besides all of that baloney, my favourite characters are Zim and Gaz ^^.
Okay everyone who is wondering why Invader Zim was cancelled here's why: It was not because of Bloody Gir which is what most people are assuming. It was too graphic for the public and it wasn't getting good ratings with the intended age group which would be 9-12 year olds but instead became popular with 14-18 year olds. Nick was getting better rating with other shows that cost less to make. (Fairly OddParents, Spongebob, etc.) This doesn't mean Bloody Gir is fake. Bloody Gir is a single frame drawing that Chris Granham drew and Steve Ressell was putting in the show at random points, hidden within things. You have to be a master to find Bloody Gir, even with a frame by frame VCR. He is in several places in the last 14 episodes. They tried to put him into Gir's rubber piggy, but they don't think it stayed. If it is there, it is very faint. You see, Bloody Gir is real, but Nickelodeon found out about it AFTER they cancelled the show. David Russell and Jhonen Vasquez wanted to put Bloody Gir in an episode, but Nickelodeon wouldn't allow it, So they hid him in the last 14 episodes (usually only one frame) to get back at Nick. After the show was cancelled, Jason Stiff the Post-Production Supervisor explained why. Here's what he said: "There were a lot of reasons the show didn't continue. Ratings are the main reason. There were complaints from time to time about the shows content being too violent, scary, obscure, etc from people that watched the show. On the whole, the network supported the show and its content." And here's a quote from the creator: "I don't feel at all slighted because the show was cancelled. I look at some of the shows that are doing incredibly well and I'm not jealous. I don't want to do that. I wouldn't give up producing my hideous little show to still be producing something that doesn't thrill me." ~Jhonen Vasquez, Creator So now you know why the most amazing show ever, Invader Zim, was sadly cancelled.
Me too. It's kinda annoying that the only thing most people remember or recognise from the show is gir. In my opinion, Zim is a better character than Gir, and I really don't understand why gir is so popular.
If a sadistic person did that I can imagine after getting the person to love Gir they turn on dark harvest. But yeah, Gir is well beloved. However I prefer him in tiny doses. In the pilot Zim acted more like Gir. If they went with that version I would have hated this series...But then again he was voiced by Mark Hamil as well so...
And the fact that at least amongst the group of people I knew who were fans of it I was the only one who wasn't all like radumb eksdeeeeeeee!!!!!! PISSES ME OFF
that organ episode literally scarred me for months. and I think it's the main reason I have such a fear of internal organs... thank you invader zim ... thanks a whooole lot
***** Im not even watching the video yet. But I knew that that freaking episode was going to show. Like, the other day, I was thinking with some friends about old shows, and then bam, Invader Zim, I told my friends about this chapter that literally just popped into my mind, and then...silence.
Fun Fact: Dib was suppose to remain dead in "Bad Rubber Piggies" and be replaced by a different character. However, Nickelodeon didn't like the idea of a main character dying, so it was scrapped. I for one, I'm actually glad Nickelodeon made this decision (unlike cancelling the show).
its been years since i watched this. looking back, i cant believe they showed this cartoon to kids. its almost as fucked up as the grim adventures of billy and mandy. maybe even more fucked up. (disclaimer: i do not dislike either of these cartoons)
2:58 that kid literally scratched down to his skull, he was shown earlier in the series with his hat and now look closely *that kid scratched so hard that you can see his SKULL*
For me this show hit all of the right notes, disturbing on another level, hilarious, good voice cast, and great art style. And even now, so many years later, this is still one of my favorite Nickelodeon shows
0:34 I spy Happy Tree Friends, Tony Hawk's Awesome Game 3, Majora's Mask for the 64, and the world's most coveted non-japanese-character non-Mickey Mouse plushies!! May I say it? It's a geek paradise!!!
I can't believe this was an actual kid show. I watched it all the time back in the day, and I have forgotten how messed up it was, thanks for bringing back the memories! lol
I forgot how messed up and downright creepy this show was at times. 0_o And yet it seemed no worse than any other cartoon to me back in the day....what the hell was wrong with me as a child?
And where are all the gods? Where's the streetwise Hercules to fight the rising odds? Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed? Late at night I toss and I turn And I dream of what I need
Jhonen is the inspiration for me and my girlfriend and has been ever since we found out about him. Some people might see his work just as a piece of art, but to us it means a lot since he, honestly, through his works impacted our lifes a LOT. Without him we would have probably never met or gotten such a big inspiration for so many things in life, such as art in general and some views on things even. This post probably means little to those who don't know the full story, but trust me when I say we both owe him a huge thank you.
yeah, lots of character in the show were supossed to had died, but nick didn't let it happened. like dib, in the episode ''Bad Rubber Piggies'' he was supossed to die, and then, they will give zim another enemie, but nick didn't want it to happen
ZIM ABSOLUTELY DESERVES IT TO LIVE!!!! THE HATERS ARE JUST HEARTLESS!!! 😠😠😠👿👿👿 IF YOU DON'T LIKE ZIM, YOU JUST HAVE NO SOUL!!! 😠😠😠 Do such people really think they are better at anything than Zim? I really love Zim and many people love him too, so go away if you just want to hate Zim!!!!
@@ZerryBerrytheSpaceRaccoon Why does Zim not deserve to live? If he were dead, then we would not have such an entertaining childhood show to be able to remember fondly.
To this day, I still don't know what to think of this show. On one hand, it was really clever and funny in a lot of ways, acting as a sort of parody of society and people in general. And I did find Gir to be awesome. On the other hand, IT WAS SO FREAKIN GROSS AND WEIRD AND GROSS! I hate it when stuff purposefully tries to make you vomit with the ugliest and most disgusting imagery that the animators can possibly make. (Remember the splinter from Spongebob? That's what I'm talking about.) The show felt creepy, depressing, and mean spirited, but at the same time fascinating and weird enough to keep you watching. In the end, I just come away with a desire to take a shower and go eat tacos.
The creator made a series about a homicidal maniac, named johnny.. then he was hired to do invader zim, what did they expect? Did they think he would tone himself down because its airing on nicktoons? ...yes, in fact thats what he did. there were tons of ideas for episodes that didn't get though because of the content inside of it. If I remember correctly there were 2 more seasons planned out before it got cancelled. The final episode was going to have Zim die and Dib become the new invader... before it got changed to be a cop out ending. Too bad we'll never see it.
Top 10 Creepy Zim moments: Aka The Stuff Nickelodeon saw and said , " Yep this is totally appropriate for Children's TV , definitely won't cause any permanent scars"
RedWolf316 I've watched it, and there was an episode SpongeBob where squidward uprooted a toe nail that was more graphic than Invader Zom was. I hate that that's kid friendly, and yet this isn't.
Invader Zim: too graphic for children. Sponge bob: rips toenails, makes characters kill them selves and throws puss at peoples faces. A kid friendly show
Invader Zim was VERY fucked up for a kids show. And that's why it'll always be my #1 favorite fandom. I'm totally watching the movie coming out this year. Behind all the comedy, the story line as a literal whole is REALLY dark, but they hide it with laughter and jokes. Kind of like Sans from Undertale. *cough*
Invader Zim has to be one of the best shows that ever got cancelled. I know it had a lot of violence, but that's what made it unique! I'm pretty sure my older brother told me about it when I was around 8, and I love it up to this day! ^u^ Gir 4 life!
This writer is the reason i got suspended from school once.(So fucking worth it.) I had Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comics i brought to school. Some popular kids stole it from my bag and screamed when they saw it all like really screamed. They said i was threatening them hence i was suspended (Though it was cleared up later that i never di such things.) However hence forth i was prohibited from bringing those comics to school again for like a year cause the next year the teachers and principle changed. *Evil Grin* They couldn't stop me anymore no one could.
JhonenV: "Just had my first Ice Cream Drumstick in years, and it was AMAZING!" Me: WTF does this have to do with Invader- JhonenV: ALSO ZIM IS STILL CANCELLED FOREVER. Me: Well, we're boned.
I remember hearing about this show from my cousin who has this obsession with Gir. I was curious what the actual character was, so I tried to watch an episode to see what the series was actually about. Of course the first and only episode I watched had to be Dark Harvest. I just assumed all the episodes were like that.
As a kid, the episode Dark Harvest disturbed me so much that it gave me nightmares and I could only watch it once and never again. As an adult, it's my favorite episode because of how disturbing it is. Same goes for the episode "Everyone Wants to Direct" from Courage the Cowardly Dog. My how things change.
Riko Wolfin nah. XD just fan characters. I still love the darkness of it all. I don't tell you how to live your life, so don't tell me how to live mine. thank you very much.
I'm actually using Photoshop to render the talking frames. Photoshop isn't that good for animation but it's really convenient for how limited my animations are.
RebelTaxi Sorry, but can you do a video about the just scripted Invader Zim episodes? Those that Vazquez couldn't finish and just remained as scripts. I think people would love it and it would bring a feeling of closure to some fans.
kicsnasdc There is a program we use for animating here in my uni. It's incredibly, old, so old you can run it straight from a USB without having to install it, which is why it's so awesome. It's surprisingly simple to use, and since the company went bankrupt, it is freely available now (not that it really matters, heh). It's called Mirage 1.5a, i recommend it, if for storyboarding or fluidity studies at least.
RebelTaxi hey bro you could find other tools to make it even better like 3d version of your character from photoshop i am doing a suggestion to support with triumph man so yeah just look at other channels to help you ok?
I remember being young and innocent... that was a bright and happy time when I didn't understand the "Room with a *moose* !" ...now I cringe every time I hear that damned thing crunching on those walnuts... *shudder*
* muffled "I love this show..." echoes in the background* Damn that moose... not sure what'd be worse... an eternity of listening to nothing but the moose crunching walnuts, or wondering what'd happen when he runs out...
Wow, really? It's interesting people admit to growing up with it, or owning merchandising for IZ but I only knew this show existed about 2006 or so. Weird.
The perfect mix of creepy, disturbing, funny and timeless. Meant for kids but possibly loved by adults more. No wonder this show is so popular, and still is in a way
Then I assume you hear from created himself that he's change a few things since the show has been gone for more then 10 years? As well as seeing how far he can push the characters with out breaking them?
I knew "dark harvest" was going to be #1. It and "rubber piggies were two episodes I always thought of as genuinely horrifying. Even now, I find those two episodes some of the most horrifying shit I have seen in my entire life in any context.

*I think my spine exploded, but I'm fine!*
Yeah, but basically, I've always held a sort of fondness for the show and Zim never really left my mind all the way up to this moment.
Need issues
I forgot who gir is.I remember the show because I AM ZIM ! And cause of Dib
Gir was my favorite character. But I still knew who the hell Zim was! Fucking people man.
Well atleast we have the comic
Thank god for that XD
+BlueBerryAssassin .ブルーベリー it's on comixology if you have that, or you could get the trade on Amazon . Happy to help
And the comic is awesome
It sure is !
Hell, he can even do what he wants with the comic so i would say its probably even better. And all those references. xD
Then: **zim gets canceled**
Now: *_Zim has a movie!_*
Okay everyone who is wondering why Invader Zim was cancelled here's why:
It was not because of Bloody Gir which is what most people are assuming.
Here's what he said:
"There were a lot of reasons the show didn't continue. Ratings are the main reason. There were complaints from time to time about the shows content being too violent, scary, obscure, etc from people that watched the show. On the whole, the network supported the show and its content."
And here's a quote from the creator:
"I don't feel at all slighted because the show was cancelled. I look at some of the shows that are doing incredibly well and I'm not jealous. I don't want to do that. I wouldn't give up producing my hideous little show to still be producing something that doesn't thrill me."
~Jhonen Vasquez, Creator
So now you know why the most amazing show ever, Invader Zim, was sadly cancelled.
1:34, I love how Zim told Dib to be quiet randomly, LOL
0:25 He basically licks the screen. Now I'm going to spend a week getting slobber off of it....
im a dedicated extreme fan of invader zim and it pisses me of when people tell people new to zim to start by watching a "best gir moments" video
Me too. It's kinda annoying that the only thing most people remember or recognise from the show is gir. In my opinion, Zim is a better character than Gir, and I really don't understand why gir is so popular.
Hi 5 bro
***** Because Gir is popular with fifteen year old emo girls cause he is a mix of slightly creepy and cute.
zim was meant to be a goth thing and i see nothing creepy about gir
If a sadistic person did that I can imagine after getting the person to love Gir they turn on dark harvest.
But yeah, Gir is well beloved. However I prefer him in tiny doses. In the pilot Zim acted more like Gir. If they went with that version I would have hated this series...But then again he was voiced by Mark Hamil as well so...
"Zim is still cancelled forever" alright, jhonen. Except it's not, because there are zim comic books coming out this summer :)
Can't wait!!!!
Where can i read the comics and when are they coming out?
janeth medina July 1st From Oni Press and you can order it online buy it at a comic shop or digital download
***** Not the same. :(
Where can I order it
And all everyone remembers of this show is lol waffelz xdeeeeereeee random
Like seriously there was more to it than just GIR
And the fact that at least amongst the group of people I knew who were fans of it I was the only one who wasn't all like radumb eksdeeeeeeee!!!!!!
PISSES ME OFF
Phoenix Pyrope So you're one of THOSE people.
u mad bro?
Phoenix Pyrope Nah.
yeah, like seriously I primarily watched it for the fucked up stuff, like it's a bazillion times more entertaining than the lol randumzzz
i love how the number one spot for most disturbing just happens to be my favorite episode xD
You are a psychopath my friend and i am scared
"Never get a job at Chuck E. Cheese, people."
Five Nights at Freddy's has pretty much solidified that. XD
DARK HARVEST OH MY GOD
Vasquez: invader Zim is canceled forever
90s & early 2000s baby’s : Say sike right now
Vásquez in 2019: sike
It's pretty funny how many would think the show was canceled due to how dark it got when in actuality it was for how expensive it got to make .
I always loved the Invader Zim intro, It was... cool
I love every second of it
Dazzy The Normling
I loved the creepy stuff. And how Nickelodeon allowed little kids to watch it.
Emerald Apple haha same
that organ episode literally scarred me for months. and I think it's the main reason I have such a fear of internal organs... thank you invader zim ... thanks a whooole lot
It was later revealed that Dib being dead permanently was a joke and that they weren’t really gonna kill off Dib
As a kid I was all Courage the Cowardly Dog. But this seems my style too
This show was WAAAAAY ahead of its time when it came out! If it was created today, I'm pretty sure this show would've lasted a very long time!
its been years since i watched this.
looking back, i cant believe they showed this cartoon to kids. its almost as fucked up as the grim adventures of billy and mandy. maybe even more fucked up.
(disclaimer: i do not dislike either of these cartoons)
***** yeah because eye-gouging is totally kid-friendly.
dat scene with puddin' and the bunny though...
.... the scene with puddin and the bunny.
This was my very first shows I watched when I was a baby. I'm honest.
LOOOOVVVE THEM!! i also always loved courage the cowardly dog- as a lil kid, to now, as an 18 yr old! heheheh
"an unusually fat baby," *shows picture of Donald Trump*
Cinnamon Sugar Lol!
Lol so funny!
😂
I can't believe this was an actual kid show. I watched it all the time back in the day, and I have forgotten how messed up it was, thanks for bringing back the memories! lol
I forgot how messed up and downright creepy this show was at times. 0_o And yet it seemed no worse than any other cartoon to me back in the day....what the hell was wrong with me as a child?
2:55 Gaz: Psh, whiner.
where have all the good shows gone?
And where are all the gods?
Where's the streetwise Hercules to fight the rising odds?
Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed?
Late at night I toss and I turn

RebelTaxi oh my god!
my youtube clone has contacted me!
I think I am going to explode now!
Don’t worry they are still good shows you just gotta look for them
Jhonen is the inspiration for me and my girlfriend and has been ever since we found out about him.
Bloaty's pizza hog: FNAF before FNAF
Zoe Nast scott y u rip off?
Jaelen Licata Oh, well that's a kind of mean thing to say... I was only pointing this out, I don't even really like FNAF

Jhonen back in 2014:" Zim is still canceled forever "
Jhonen in 2019:"ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT"
Reddit spacing not funny
What is the body count through the whole Invader ZIM series? There are people that HAD to have died.
yeah, lots of character in the show were supossed to had died, but nick didn't let it happened. like dib, in the episode ''Bad Rubber Piggies'' he was supossed to die, and then, they will give zim another enemie, but nick didn't want it to happen
***** In "Planet Jackers", the moon hit the planet...
Zim should have died AND STAYED DEAD. HE DOES NOT DESERVE TO LIVE.
ZIM ABSOLUTELY DESERVES IT TO LIVE!!!! THE HATERS ARE JUST HEARTLESS!!! 😠😠😠👿👿👿
IF YOU DON'T LIKE ZIM, YOU JUST HAVE NO SOUL!!!
Nothing on this show ever bothered me except that eye ball one. That just creeped the hell out me.
SOMEBODY PLEASE GIVE ME A LINK TO WHERE I CAN BUY THOSE GIR PLUSHES
Hot Topic in 2001
RebelTaxi
Shit.
Not sure if it's the same one: www.amazon.com/Nickelodeon-Alien-Invader-Zim-Plush/dp/B00KVP64AY
you might be able to find them on amazon
+Mister Skeltal It is pretty similar.
I always found bad bad rubber piggy to be more disturbing than dark harvest. It toyed with the psychology of Dib as well as mutilating him.
That's what I'm talking about.)
The show felt creepy, depressing, and mean spirited, but at the same time fascinating and weird enough to keep you watching.
I watch Invader Zim all day, everyday..... All day, everyday.....
I was always told I had a f*cked up mind....
OMG YOU ARE ME D8 HELLO OTHER ME!
Don't worry. You're not the only one ^_^
I thought I was the only insane one..
Arron Bennett Nooope, Invader Zim is too awesome to think you are insane, and if Invader Zim means you're insane, INSANITY ROCKS!!
Invader Zim is f*cked up and I'm f*cked up for loving it
A great show that got cancelled too soon.
well there was good reasons bro
mentordemoniaco I know. I just wish Nickelodeon we to put Invader Zim on another channel if it was too edgy for kids.
RedWolf316 I've watched it, and there was an episode SpongeBob where squidward uprooted a toe nail that was more graphic than Invader Zom was. I hate that that's kid friendly, and yet this isn't.
***** ikr
Invader Zim: too graphic for children.
Sponge bob: rips toenails, makes characters kill them selves and throws puss at peoples faces. A kid friendly show
Invader Zim was VERY fucked up for a kids show. And that's why it'll always be my #1 favorite fandom. I'm totally watching the movie coming out this year. Behind all the comedy, the story line as a literal whole is REALLY dark, but they hide it with laughter and jokes. Kind of like Sans from Undertale. *cough*
Oyis
+Ayumi “Demon Cat” Kamui Is there really an invader Zim movie?
+Purple Sheep or are you talking about something else?
+Purple Sheep Yes. Yes there is.
+pivot4469 Yaasss!
Scary thing is that Dark Harvest is my favorite Invader Zim episode.
Without a doubt, one of the best Zim episodes.
Eeyup.
you think thats bad, when i was about somewhere around 10, all i wanted to do was watch invader zim.
Fluffy Chan YOUR PROFILE PIC IS RUSSIA FROM HETALIA AS A PONY!
Woot-woot!
Zim's favorite flavored Drumstick must be TakeoverTheWorldBerry...
Invader Zim has to be one of the best shows that ever got cancelled. I know it had a lot of violence, but that's what made it unique! I'm pretty sure my older brother told me about it when I was around 8, and I love it up to this day! ^u^ Gir 4 life!
6:37, clever boy
It's you, my god
Bloody G.I.R
This writer is the reason i got suspended from school once.(So fucking worth it.) I had Johnny the Homicidal Maniac comics i brought to school. Some popular kids stole it from my bag and screamed when they saw it all like really screamed. They said i was threatening them hence i was suspended (Though it was cleared up later that i never di such things.) However hence forth i was prohibited from bringing those comics to school again for like a year cause the next year the teachers and principle changed. *Evil Grin* They couldn't stop me anymore no one could.
I loved this show when I was little.
I still watch it.
Me too, and I'm rewatching the series
☆Nepurrta "SATAN" The D3stroy3r☆ // I can reference anything, anytime, anywhere. xD

It's incredible what kind of cartoons my parents let me see when i was a child .-.
BUT I STILL LOVE IT!!
JhonenV: "Just had my first Ice Cream Drumstick in years, and it was AMAZING!"
Me: WTF does this have to do with Invader-
JhonenV: ALSO ZIM IS STILL CANCELLED FOREVER.
God I miss this show even more than I realized.
I just met the voice actors of both Zim and Gir today!
They were so nice! ^_^
My how things change.
all the reason why i love this show
By the looks of your profile picture it seems like you like the show for all the wrong reasons. . .
yea one of my childhood favorites
Riko Wolfin nah. XD just fan characters. I still love the darkness of it all. I don't tell you how to live your life, so don't tell me how to live mine. thank you very much.
agreed, this show was my childhood :)
2:49 that's more horrifying than FNAF 1 and 2 combined o_o
Im sick of hearing about that over rated game
Gaming TiGer Same here
5 Nights at Bloaty's. :D
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
FN@F isn't even scary.
5 years later... Netflix revives this show.
Hey RebelTaxi, your animation is getting a lot better. You use flash, right?
I'm actually using Photoshop to render the talking frames. Photoshop isn't that good for animation but it's really convenient for how limited my animations are.
RebelTaxi Sorry, but can you do a video about the just scripted Invader Zim episodes? Those that Vazquez couldn't finish and just remained as scripts. I think people would love it and it would bring a feeling of closure to some fans.
RebelTaxi Btw, it's just a suggestion. Keep up the good work man, i love your vids :)!
kicsnasdc
There is a program we use for animating here in my uni.
I miss this show.
5:00 this episode freaked me out even now
Fan Fact/Possible Spoiler Alert:
If Invader ZIM were to continue, Dib would have been have been revealed to be a clone of Professor Membrane!
Also, Dib was planned to be killed off permanently in the Bad Rubber Piggy episode and replaced with a new antagonist, but Nickelodeon refused.
***** I would have loved to see that!
***** the tallest were hilarious, weren't they?
***** yeh it was the best
I remember being young and innocent... that was a bright and happy time when I didn't understand the "Room with a *moose* !"
...now I cringe every time I hear that damned thing crunching on those walnuts... *shudder*
is the point the torture of hearing the sound of crunching for eternity?
Asyra Cat
I thought about it like this...
What if the moose runs out of walnuts?
Turudelas13 In fact, it only had walnuts because they just sent it walnuts, so that wouldn't take very long.
Turudelas13
hilleltaco D: I NEVER SAW IT THAT WAY! it thought it was just a sound torture omg
I knew there wasps something I wasn't getting about that... Oh God!
I remember that episode where gaz tried to murder a child over a handheld console.
4:19 💀💀💀💀 a portal in his foreski- FOREHEAD
* muffled "I love this show..." echoes in the background*
Damn that moose... not sure what'd be worse... an eternity of listening to nothing but the moose crunching walnuts, or wondering what'd happen when he runs out...
The Halloweenies!!!! XD
I love that GIR plushie!
Bought those 2 when the show was still new in like 2002. I wish I still had my T-Shirts from elementary school to show in this video.
Wow, really? It's interesting people admit to growing up with it, or owning merchandising for IZ but I only knew this show existed about 2006 or so. Weird.
Pan do you know that the creator said gir was a mistake.
SlyLie14 (ಠ_ಠ) (ಠ益ಠ) /\/ / /\/ _/ /\ If he was, he was the best mistake ever made
+CoolEric's Reviews IKR
cartoon network should take invader aim if not as a children show at least as an adult swim one
The perfect mix of creepy, disturbing, funny and timeless. Meant for kids but possibly loved by adults more. No wonder this show is so popular, and still is in a way
God damn I loved this show. I still do tbh.
Same

I'm rewatching it
Agreed, I may have not grown up with this show, but it is fucking awesome and one of my favorite shows!!
After watching a marathon of invader ZIMM! I was talking liKE! THISS! For a WEEEEEEĶ!!!
"canceled forever?" and here I am after the Netflix special
I saw bloody gir! Its right after the moose! 6:37
Everyone remembers Dark Harvest
Nobody forgets Dark Harvest
I didn't know that Strangers Thing stole Invader Zim's halloween episode
the ashton kutcher joke was so funny
The Invader Zim comic is the shit!
There's a comic?!
+Rainy S. SnafuComics
Yus!!!
Then I assume you hear from created himself that he's change a few things since the show has been gone for more then 10 years? As well as seeing how far he can push the characters with out breaking them?
.
I watched Invader Zim, Happy Tree Friends, and Courage the Cowardly Dog as a kid.
I was one messed up kid.
same
Watched Zim and Courage, but only a bit of HTF. Never got into it.
It's been confirmed that Zim is being brought back as at least a Movie! And Jhonen Vasquez is going to work on it!
I knew "dark harvest" was going to be #1. It and "rubber piggies were two episodes I always thought of as genuinely horrifying. Even now, I find those two episodes some of the most horrifying shit I have seen in my entire life in any context.
"It's Jews and antisemitism time!"
... and then RebelTaxi addresses no such thing for the rest of the video whatsoever.
;~;
The scene with the kids eyes getting pulled out traumatized me. o_o
