but The Japanaese one is true masterpiece

this game is my dad's favorite game, I remember every weekend he always takeover the psone from my older brother and play this game the whole day :"), he completed every challenges and earn all the cars.....rest in peace dad, we will always love you...

I can definitely relate. Mine always said, he wants to play all those racing games against me, once he finally retires. It never got to that. He died like 3 months before his retirement in Nov, 2008. :(

I grew up playing the Western version my whole life. I can not get over how much better this is. Why the hell did they not just make this the universal intro?

The US version had the original Cardigans my favorite game song and the EU version has the faithless remix.

but the JP version isn't the better one... weirdly...
The only intro for me, Moon over the castle it's a himn, this game and his entire ost, represents a style of life, a passion for driving and cars, it's not an ordinary car game. it's the race of your life!
The piano part honestly makes me nostalgic for an era of racing i've never even seen before

The whole soundtrack is so much better in Japanese version than in its western counterparts.

I'm like 12 again, my brother got me PS1 that I has to paid for on birthday. This is good as I have no way to play anyway. Console is chip moded. Half translated GT2 popped on the screen started from the Verbatim CD. Boy, I cry now like never before... This game teached how to control cars, one day that Sunday Car event corner cut will save my life. I have huge respect to GT2 and every time I hear Moon over the Castle, I cry.
Ngl. This intro bought tears to my eyes. So much memories are behind this game and intro. Its not just a game its a timeless masterpiece and that dodge viper in the end oooof.. When i looked at it sent chills. that is the best car of the game. I beat the game with that car. Penzoil is good too But Viper was something else

I remember I used to play with that Toyota Yaris back when I was 8 years old. Handled well in game…14 years later and I own an RS version of it.
I think I would ugly cry if for the GT7 intro they decided to remake this, they did say they took a lot of inspiration from GT 1-4 for the new title coming soon in a recent interview, I REALLY hope they kept their promise.

nonono, My Favourite games remix fits awesome to Arcade Mode Outro. Funny fact- mine GT2 Simulation Mode disc was Japanese- I've played with japanese kanji! And maybe thats why I've seen best intro version with Moon Over The Castle. Never wondered what region Arcade Mode Disc was. But There where "Blue Line" and "Favourite Games Remix" outros + non-japanese lettering. So I assume it was EU

A long time ago, a Pulsar admired the Cappuccino when it became a legend that is now known as the Gigachino. The Pulsar witnessed the Gigachino's ascension to the Ultrachino. The Ultrachino chose the Hachiroku as its successor to continue the Gran Turismo World League but it was defeated by the dreaded Impreza. The Impreza saw its comrades got defeated by the Ultrachino so it took matters on its own wheels. Unfortunately, the Ultrachino did not race so the Impreza took the next best car, the Hachiroku which the Ultrachino chose to be its successor. The Pulsar felt a great despair saw its idol's successor got defeated. The Ultrachino began its seach for its worthy successor and took revenge from the dreaded Impreza. The Pulsar, being there at the beginning and admired the Gigachino which is now the Ultrachino, volunteered to be its successor and win the Gran Turismo World League. The Pulsar trained hard for the World League not only to win, but to beat the GT-One and the R390. Having proven that it can beat both of them, with all of the racing data it gathered, the upgrades it received and the racing modifications, the Pulsar made its decision to become the Gran Turismo World Champion. This is the story of the legend that is the *GIGAPULSAR.*

oh well... the EU versions aren't bad either, but i feel sorry for the US, which got the worst.
At least in GT5 v2 they noticed the error of their ways and gave us Daiki Kasho. If only you could access both Kasho AND Andoh, that would be perfct!

it was at my best friend's house 22 years ago I still remember the race we had on high speed ring
honda s2000 vs toyota altezza with damage (I lost every race against him)
and funny coincidence the following year I bought his playstation and the next year I bought the game
