And yet, Rick Moranis called it quits in 2003 after voicing the role of Rett in the animated film Brother Bear. Since then, his voice has been used for spinoffs from Brother Bear as well as The Adventures of Bob and Doug McKenzie. But, in 2020, he decided to make a comeback in a new sequel to the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids series called “Shrunk” which is currently under production.
But what was the reason why Rick Moranis left Hollywood 20+ years ago? He’s now confirmed why he left and the reasons why he decided to step away from a successful career and how he feels about the change in lifestyle. But before we learn about why he quit, let’s learn about how he got started.
Rick Moranis was born in Toronto on April 18, 1953 and began his career as a radio disc jockey in the 1970s. He realized that he had a knack for comedy and along with his colleagues would perform comedy sketches on the radio and eventually in live performances. The next step was obviously to appear on television and in the cinema.
The 1970s is when Rick Moranis began his career but it was the 1980s when his career really took off. He came at just the right time to appear in many of the blockbuster comedies that are now considered classics - such as The Ghostbusters films and Spaceballs. In the 1990s, he continued this success with the Honey I Shrunk The Kids series and films such as Parenthood and My Blue Heaven.

Okay cool your title for this video was pretty straight forward. No need for the back story on who Rick Moranis is or was. I just ended up skipping through the video to find out why Rick Moranis left Hollywood 20 years ago. You mentioned what movies he was in for your intro and that was enough info for me. Personally in my opinion it helps to keep things simple and to the point and now I'll go ahead and see why Rick Moranis left Hollywood 20 years ago. If anyone else feels the same as me about this video give me a like.

Really is one of my favorite actors of all time. Such an underrated actor. He always felt like he wasn’t a good actor and was actually a comedian, but I disagree. He was a phenomenal actor and really shined in scenes where he wasn’t being funny. What sold me on his acting ability is funnily the Flintstones movie. He had a number of scenes where Barney Rubble was serious, upset, disappointed, downtrodden, happy, or angry, and he played those scenes perfectly. He really made me believe that Barney was feeling those things. It usually happens that way too. A comedic actor plays in a film where the character isn’t just a slapstick goofball, and they are able to shine and show just what they are capable of as an actor. Robin Williams did it, even Adam Sandler the monumental goofy childish adult did it. Comedians always surprise you when they are allowed to play a serious role.

I remember seeing him on SCTV and his first movie Strange Brew with Dave Thomas. He was very funny and a great actor with whatever roles given him. From playing an overly concerned father over his little girls' IQ and becoming a genius in the movie Parenthood to Dark Helmet in Spaceballs he was good at any role. It's sad about losing his wife to cancer but he stepped up as a father and took time away from his career for his kids which says a lot.

@@FactsVerse more General human interest stuff about the actors and actresses or about the films and TV shows. Try to stay away from salacious stuff such as their personal sexualities or interests in such areas. It's really Nobody's Business and it's really helping to coursen in our society which is already gotten pretty
Coursened. I don't think it's necessary to put these people whether Dead or Alive under a microscope like that. I don't believe it's treating them with any dignity. Whatever foibles they may have had or have we should not turn it into somebody's amusement. I know it will mean harder work for you while because you'll have to be more creative and it will certainly piss off people who want more salacious or sexual material but whatever you cover about these performers in movies and films stage Productions should always be done with dignity and decency and not treating them like Zoo specimens. Society has become too tolerant of traditionally unacceptable sexualities and in my view that's extremely unfortunate but really is any of that material our business? And when it's presented as entertainment it really reflects poorly on all of you because it's only purpose is sexual entertainment of listeners. So tell us more about there family backgrounds growing up patient in the things that influenced them that took them into that profession. If they did any good in the world then tell us about that. Of course that will be very boring to those who want salacious material. Some respondents to my comments has made it clear what they want and it speaks volumes of their nature and character. In the end you have to choose the direction of this channel and where you want to take it. Thank you for asking.
