I live in Metairie also! My house is right behind Chapelle high school. I decorate for Mario gras every year and last year was the first season I did an actual mardi gras tree. It came out perfect! And believe it or not, I got most of my oornaments from my local Walmart on Veterans and they were very reasonably priced. The Christmas Village also has some beautiful Mardi Gras decorations as well. Anyway, I had so much fun watching your video! Everything came out so beautiful! It gets me inspired for the upcoming season and let’s not forget about the king cakes! I am looking forward to king cake season for sure…Dong Phong is my fave! 💜💛💚
LOVE! I grew up on the west bank (Terrytown and Gretna) but now live on the north shore in Madisonville. I was searching for cute Mardi Gras home decor videos and there aren’t many that aren’t over the top. Love the hints of Mardi Gras everywhere!

Jenny For Your Thoughts we do celebrate it here but call it “vasteloavend” or “carnaval”. Mardi Gras was brought to you guys by the French 😁 (mardi = tuesday and gras = fat so it means “fat tuesday” the day before Ash Wednesday. ) we celebrate it mostly in the catholic south of the country.
