US has never signed any anti-Israel resolutions ever; the only time they have abstained from voting (therefore the resolution was passed ) was during the Obama/Biden era. It’s a minuscule, hugely belated step but an enormously significant step in the history of US.

For those of you joining, what DW is not telling you is that the US vetoed 3 resolutions for a ceasefire and now France is introducing another ceasefire resolution that calls for an immediate and permanent ceasefire with a release of hostages on both sides, including the ones in Israeli concentration camps. The US does not want to be seen vetoing another ceasefire resolution so they have submitted one of their own calling for a immediate but not permanent ceasefire and the release of Israeli hostages but no mention of the thousands of Palestinians in Israel concentration camps. The US is worried that the French resolution will get to the security council first so they submitted this watered down one so they can bee seen not vetoing it. Either way, Israel will ignore it.

The US turned down to the other propositions because none of them mentioned the return of the hostages or would condemn hamas actions. They would have essentially endorsed israel to surrender.... Which means not getting the hostages which is not moral. Since this motion addresses the hostage situation as well then there is no incompatibility in their position.

This is pure disinformation. The US is not calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. The US resolution states that it "determines the imperative of an immediate and sustained ceasefire". That is not a call for an immediate ceasefire but the acknowledgement that such a ceasefire is important. This is spin, fluff and deflection by the US (and their media channels).

Kissorte was also Robert Maxwell's colonel when they served in the Mossad together.
Blinken obtained a fortune by working for the arms and spyware dealers contracted by the Israeli military.
