      60% of tone is in your hands and technique :P

    • @VioletDeliriums
      @VioletDeliriums 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      hmm... it seems to me that "tone" is a combination of many factors, including the instrument, the electronic processing (including the guitar's pickups, the amplifier, the effects, and the mike/PA system if used, the room itself) plus the way you strike the strings -- for example, if you play with your fingers vs. a pick, play with force or softly, if you play with a little or a lot of pick exposed, and so on. this debate seems a bit pointless - no one knows what fucking percentage of these things, and it probably changes all the time -- perhaps every time you click on another pedal or change your picking technique.

    Man you’ll probably never read this, but 6 years ago I started my pedalboard based on your sound. I felt in love with the QM, and that was my first purchase. Still today, sounds like a beast and I only changed knobs as they all cracked.
    Massive thanks for introducing me to the Depths, what an amazing pedal. The layers you create with the Levitation are pure beauty: you gave me so much in just one video!
    My board is now complete with a custom pedal, over the years I added EQD, Dunwich Amp, Submachine Effects, among others. Hope you’re doing well my friend!

    i like the the way you demoed...showing the pedals not just alone, but in combination to make your sound palette, because that is how you will used them in practice. but, i think your distortion/fuzz sounds would be better if you did two things: (1) use the pedals to color the natural distortion of a high gain channel on a tube amp rather than as the sole source of the tone, (2) put some better humbuckers in your guitar, like some seymour duncans maybe. It will make your sound more focused and clear.

Funny, once when the Pharaoh Supreme was triggered it didn't appear to be awake! Mostly I preferred the Mantra off, but one to combination it added really useful brightening. That Arrows is something else. You can quickly get tired of it, but in the right combination it's lovely. Thank you.

      GeckoDeLimon i realy like the arrow, but i dont realy understand what it does xD is it like an overdrive boost fro fuzz?

    • @GeckoDeLimon
      @GeckoDeLimon 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +metalehead95 It's a clean boost. Like the TC Spark or Xotic EP. It just increases the voltage of the signal, so that pedals down the chain (or the amp itself) get hit harder. Some of them try to be transparent and not change the tone, others can add warmth or subtle EQ. The Arrow pushes mids a bit as the knob goes up.
