You could hike the CDT instead .I live in COL.so far we have about average snow pack and should be passable by mid June .The PCT is by far the best trail but this year few will do a thru hike.

I certainly have the CDT on the to-do list, but will see what the PCT is like, and how things evolve as I head up trail.

I fear in the moment there is no place to flip to, other than home.

I wonder if Roads end, Kings canyon would be an alternative to re-supply. I'm puzzling over my shoe choice to start off with at the moment. mid March start. Craig

I found my show size went up 1/2 size very quickly, and ultimately 1.5 sizes at the end. So personally would allow 1/2 or possibly even one full size up in the initial stages.

Excessive snow is bad. When it melts this leads to excessive amount of run off making water crossings rather dangerous. I pray the Lord will bless you with a safe and happy journey.

Hi Lisa - apologies was hiking and offline for a long period. This year was a bust for a continuous footprint - but managed to get 2250 miles done, but flip-flopped. Hoping to hike again, work depending, and do the trail again - its different everytime, and try to stop at different places each time. All the best L.
