Hey, great episode! As a brazilian ML, I loved when Rakim mentioned Jones Manoel. Here in my country we are having a great wave of socialist radicalization through social media, channels like "História Cabeluda", "História Pública" and "Assim Disse o João" are creating real, although relatively small change in brazilian culture. You guys should think of having some of them on. I think João Carvalho of "Assim Disse João" and Ian Neves of "História Pública" speak english fluently. It blows my mind how awkward hasan can be on mic with all of his deep experience being on mic, that being said nice guest and great way to keep growing
He's talked abt it before but like it's mostly bc he spent so much of his time practically talking to himself or his chat. He unintentionally became a shut-in lol
Nah, most of them are fine. I personally can't wait to see Twitter arguing over how much Hasan became a Tankie Stalinist and how it fits their narative of him being pro Putin or some shit.
I am a ML and I love Hasan. He is very important to the online leftist scene. He normalises and gives legitimacy to socialism as a political system worth pursuing. He is the leftist equivalent to the Ben Shapiro's and shit. A twitch streamer with 40k viewers being an open socialist is very important.
Boys, I think it's a good idea to have a discussion about neurodiversity. I enjoy the light-hearted humor on the subject, but I think it's time to have an actual constructive discussion about that intersection, as well as some latent ableism still present in a lot of leftist communities.
Honestly with the bro jokes I don't even know if this is where that conversation would be best held. They sure could USE that conversation, but I think it needs to be a guest appearance giving a more or less presentation-style discussion
You know Hasan is so humble relating to his privileges, I love that about him. He never takes his privileges for granted! You guys are killing it! Love to all you beautiful beautiful comrades.
now this is what i come to this podcast for, lamajun discussions. my go to is parsley, labneh, and garlic for lamajun toppings, also throw in some olives when im feeling ambitious or want to impress someone.
I have a similar arc. Moved to US from UK in the '80s. Finally at 50 back in UK. Cannot express how happy I am to be home. The US is insane now. I sound crazy when trying to explain my American experience. Utterly hellish.
I dont feel bad saying this because Hasan has a cool job and shit like a house but hes way more thoughtful and interesting than his reputation suggests. I thought he was another Vaush.
I think that this "skin color" conversation was generated in the US. It was never an issue or even something to comment on in the Mediterranean (where I come from) for centuries. Then, I guess the Anglo-Saxons needed to separate people in manners other than class and invented this "great concept".
As a brazilian, the mention to Jones Manoel caught me by surprise. He's brilliant, and he's being of great value on the radicalization of many here in Brazil.
Great convo! Love to see more people on the left do crossovers and grow each other's audiences to spread the message as much as possible. Thank you guys
To the point regarding if your content really rouses or placates the people, I would say as a spectator that education and theory should affect material aspects of our daily lives (I think Mao talks about this in "On practice"); hearing theory, understanding history and analizing things from a marxist perspective from you guys not only gives me the tools to have more productive discussions with other people and plant the seeds of class consciousness, but also agitates me and makes me angry about our current material living conditions, while giving me an explanation about it. If you go back to the seeds of the russian revolution, you always end up on the marxists discussions regular people had on bars. Like, theres no concrete point where you had no class consciousness and then suddenly there it was. The small discussions, theory reading, lectures and random chats about the topic had to happen; then people got angry, realized what was happening and both started to learn more and then agitate. I see content like this as those random bar chats; its less heavy theory bigbrain hours because of the entertainment factor; Hakim talking about balls, the memes, shittalking about the US both in a real and funny way, live chats, merch and all that helps cement all the theory and agitation in more relatable terms and thats why I feel energized in my actual life to take theory into practice.
@@Zayden.Marxist I run with 4 other guys the biggest socialist organization on my city. We've marched with unions and other groups, we've protested our government for leftist reforms and we do comunnity work on a weekly basis, just to begin with.
So I think why I get mad at Hassan having so much is that I can barely make rent, and its frustrating. Im trying to get Union going, trying to be politically active, and it hurts so much. Meanwhile seeing anyone have so much more than they will ever need just makes that frustration all the worse. Like I dont want a mansion or fancy clothes, I want a house and goid health care, and not having to worry about potentially starving or not making rent. In short, when I don't see the struggle and instead I see excess it bothers me on a personal level. I accept him as a comrade, im just in so much pain.
Unfortunately even if you're "comfortable" there's not enough you can do to make meaningful change nationwide, much less worldwide. If he's focusing on local organizing, housing the unhoused, and politically advocating for the working class, that's enough for me. Instead of being angry at him (and I know you're NOT, but many WOULD BE), continue to be angry at the system itself that has failed us, and the wealthy in this country that don't do enough - and there's plenty of those.
Oh my goodness JT - your birthday, given this was recorded last week, must be just a few days away from mine! We're world life comrades, we came into this world so close together! Congrats! ^^ ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
I've found that in my personal life I've managed to be well informed enough to address and point at the incongruences of capitalism with friends that, because of their own part that they come to play in the greater picture of capitalism, the ideas that we engage in come peeking their head and slowly they start telling me all the new things that they once put in the background and are now noticing and connecting the dots in the scheme of capitalism.
I think you can be assured that you are really changing something with your work. You are changing peoples minds and changed minds, which means changed actions. I already scrapped a business idea which included workes and a cofoundet who didn't want to make a workers Co op and I will start a business now that doesn't exploit workers and will use the money to fund further advocacy and try to start a workers coop. And want and will get involved with more organisation's as soon as I find time. And I'm educating others whenever topics come up.
So I just wanna say when I first started watching Hasan I almost instinctively disliked him but I quickly became a fan. Let me lay out some of the reason. The first thing that made me start warming up to him was the fact he seemed like he really did give a shit. He didn’t seem like a grifter to me. Another reason was the fact that one of the first videos I watched on him was him talking about theory and he definitely did the reading. Over time I would also see that he knew about so much shit to do with the history and the culture of the left that it seemed very unlikely that this came from him just trying to quickly read up on shit. He knew about aspects of the left that someone really wouldn’t know about unless he had been around and been interested in this shit for a while. He was also able to explain shit to viewers in a way that was digestible and was very practical when it came to introducing new people to leftist ideas that might have just clicked on a video that was more about internet shit but veered into leftist shit because of a question someone in the chat brought up. He had also been ideology consistent for a long time. He is much closer to the ideas that come from a place like revolutionary left radio than you see from streamers like Vaush and Xanderhal while not coming off as a dogmatic contrarian. The fact that he is so popular and is still not drifting into the liberalism that Vaush has displayed over the last couple years is very notable because it will introduce people to leftist ideas from a good standpoint and not in a way that is anywhere near as compatible with western imperialist hegemony as a huge portion of the US left. Another think I will say is that I will say is he does have a good sense of humor and that really pissed me the fuck off at first when I started watching him wanting to dislike him. I’m definitely on his side while still being critical of him and I think that is an alright place to be. When people actually watch his content I think they will be very surprised when it comes to his knowledge of philosophy and his stand on the issues that matter. And the last thing I will say is that he has also gone out of his way to speak at events, raise money for important causes and continue to produce good agitprop on an almost daily basis.
But to summarize what I just said in a more clear way I absolutely support Hasan and think he is genuine and making great agitprop from a great perspective ideologically.
He is so genuine he brings on other rich streams and spends thousands with them as middle class pays him for doing virtually nothing productive for society.

“And so on and so on” channeling the true Balkan language lol
It blows my mind how awkward hasan can be on mic with all of his deep experience being on mic, that being said nice guest and great way to keep growing
He's talked abt it before but like it's mostly bc he spent so much of his time practically talking to himself or his chat. He unintentionally became a shut-in lol
Oh god I’m about 20 minutes in and I’ve been surprised that I’m not cringing I guess I better brace myself lol
the crossover we all needed
No thanks. Not interested in fake leftist.
Hasan is a hypocrite
I feel so happy when I found out Hakim is Iraqi that actually knows about Iraq and is a political youtuber, it makes me happy I coupd relate with him
Oh my god the mad lads actually did it.
I'm sure my fellow ML's in the comments and on twitter will have a _very fine and normal reaction to the Hasan episode_
REEEE 🍾 socialist
Nah, most of them are fine. I personally can't wait to see Twitter arguing over how much Hasan became a Tankie Stalinist and how it fits their narative of him being pro Putin or some shit.
I am a ML and I love Hasan. He is very important to the online leftist scene. He normalises and gives legitimacy to socialism as a political system worth pursuing. He is the leftist equivalent to the Ben Shapiro's and shit. A twitch streamer with 40k viewers being an open socialist is very important.
in the age of Destinies and Vaushes, Hasan is a breath of fresh air
And the anarchist elements will also have a rage fit about TANKIE podcast with PROBLEMATIC individuals and RACE based jokes from the Balkan Slav.
Awww I was hoping Hasan would have been drawn as a character somewhere
same hahaha woulda been awesome but this was still incredible
they should have made a cut-out of him and put him in the background 🤭
@@mizjulio With cat ears
Everyone should do a cooking video arc.
This was awesome! So glad y’all were able to get hasan on, I’m so excited for this podcast to reach more and more people! You guys are awesome 💪🏼
The collab I’ve been waiting for for the longest. Great episode👏🏽👏🏽
YO THAT FULL LEGNTH THEME FUCKING SLAPS
You know Hasan is so humble relating to his privileges, I love that about him. He never takes his privileges for granted! You guys are killing it! Love to all you beautiful beautiful comrades.
Mashallah we need the GOAT badempanada tho
Trueeeee
Yes, plz
he'll be a guest soon Inshallah.
Yes. Hakim, yugopnik and BE 3 way.
BE: "They have to invite me, I can't just show up"
His comments: just show up, dew it
Health care from Hakim, camera advice from JT, and alcohol recommendations from Yugopnik all for $10,000 a month
now this is what i come to this podcast for, lamajun discussions. my go to is parsley, labneh, and garlic for lamajun toppings, also throw in some olives when im feeling ambitious or want to impress someone.
that or just lifet, pickled turnips
this is what we've been waitin for sick to see him come on that for this and all your stuff to the both of you guys
First Thought is fire thanks for all the amazing work comrades.
I have a similar arc. Moved to US from UK in the '80s. Finally at 50 back in UK. Cannot express how happy I am to be home. The US is insane now. I sound crazy when trying to explain my American experience. Utterly hellish.
Huge pull for the podcast, love to see it!
I dont feel bad saying this because Hasan has a cool job and shit like a house but hes way more thoughtful and interesting than his reputation suggests. I thought he was another Vaush.
I'm glad you don't think that anymore...
Hes still a shallow dumbass lmao@@jrock71
Heeeell yeah, brothers. Super excited for this episode
"I would go with a anime girl with jiggle physics." *Suris sweats nervously as his market share shrinks.*
Seeing a Serbian, Iraqi, American, and Turk on the same podcast is unreal
I'VE BEEN WAITING ON THIS COLLAB SINCE THE BEGINNING
I've been asking for this for months, thank you my boys
I think that this "skin color" conversation was generated in the US. It was never an issue or even something to comment on in the Mediterranean (where I come from) for centuries. Then, I guess the Anglo-Saxons needed to separate people in manners other than class and invented this "great concept".
it was directly related to class 🤔 it was a reaction
Mediterranean did not witness slavery in the same way the us did
im from the Mediterranean too "morocco"
As a brazilian, the mention to Jones Manoel caught me by surprise. He's brilliant, and he's being of great value on the radicalization of many here in Brazil.
Do you know what the title of the article they mention is? Couldn't find it.
excellent episode as always and that outro is AMAZING!!!
What practice have you started since listening to The Deprogram? Do they support or promote or work with any communist organizations?
@@Zayden.Marxist I run with 4 other guys the biggest socialist organization on my city. We've marched with unions and other groups, we've protested our government for leftist reforms and we do comunnity work on a weekly basis, just to begin with.
Hakim with a Lenin vtube would go crazy
A Turk, an Arab, a Yugoslav, and an American, the set up for a funny joke or a great podcast. Why not both?
i’ve been waiting for this for way too long! i’m so happy you guys invited him AND that he came on 😸
I would fucking love Turkish cooking hour with Hasan
Honestly, considering my cringe uncle is a full on rightwing propagandist, Hasan shouldnt feel too bad about Cenk...
According to wikipedia, Dua Lipa's grandmother is Bosniak so Yugopniks Balkans Race Science was correct lol.
Yeah that makes sens.
time stamp?
Never saw this podcast coming and I’m so stoked for it!
Been waiting for this for so long
Só happy to see Hasan here. Hasan was my gateway into socialism. Which later led to JT, and then the pod.
Same here
What is the next step? Will you become active and join an organization? Does The Deprogram have local chapters?
So I think why I get mad at Hassan having so much is that I can barely make rent, and its frustrating. Im trying to get Union going, trying to be politically active, and it hurts so much. Meanwhile seeing anyone have so much more than they will ever need just makes that frustration all the worse. Like I dont want a mansion or fancy clothes, I want a house and goid health care, and not having to worry about potentially starving or not making rent. In short, when I don't see the struggle and instead I see excess it bothers me on a personal level. I accept him as a comrade, im just in so much pain.
Agreed
Hasan doesn't give a fuck about any of you, he's flying private jets to burning man while selling a message of revolution to poor people lmao
In short, yada yada "no great man theory", get organized and agitate locally, etc
Hasan you’re a good dude. Fuck what the haters say.

so the Turkish lord finally decided to face the slavs and Arabs at his gates
I've found that in my personal life I've managed to be well informed enough to address and point at the incongruences of capitalism with friends that, because of their own part that they come to play in the greater picture of capitalism, the ideas that we engage in come peeking their head and slowly they start telling me all the new things that they once put in the background and are now noticing and connecting the dots in the scheme of capitalism.
Im so exited to see this video! Lesgooo!
“I’m telling a doctor in Iraq to do an anime voice”

8:06 Hakim says bring back the kitchen streams Hasan!!
Can't wait for hakim's lenin vtuber model
imagine Hakim with a Lenin vtuber avatar ;-;
THE DREAM 🎉🎉
Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, that's why I crap on company time.
Boss makes a dollar I make a dime, Hakim is talking about parsley and thyme
Boss makes a dollar, I make a dime, yet I only complain 'bout streamers who earns just fine. 🤓☝
Just subbed, can't wait to see what you guys do next!
Here thanks to Hasan's stream, and I just wanted to say y'all's outro music is great
THIS WAS SO SWEET TO LISTEN TO I LOVE YOU GUYS
