Hello, thank you for the video. My thinkpad 8 is in boot loop and i can't do anything to recover it... i tried hard reset (volume up + power) but it does not work... the only thing i can do is power off the tablet pressing power for many seconds. The problem started yesterday ,after long time i did not use it. I connected the micro usb cable to the tablet for recharge it, and it started displaying a message about a variable not found , then other messages about bios flash failure... then the display turns off and again, turns on displaying the message about the variable... Do you have any suggestion? How can i recover it?
you will first need to plug a keyboard into it to see if you can get into bios. if you can then it means it is working and you probably just need to reinstall windows. if you cant get into bios then it is most likely dead.
Hi friend, I´ve a problem in the corners of screen, big black spot with White borders. Do you know if it´s possible to remove the glass only and how? I thinking that there´s a glue problem because those spots are advancing day after day. Thanks!
I think my SD disk is dead! I have the lenovo usb stick recovery and it fails to recovery my tablet. I'm running ubuntu on a stick and I can't format it. Is it possible that the SD Disk is Dead? Is there a way to replace it?
it is but you need to do 2 things. first the difference between the WIFI model and the 3G 4G model is the slot to place the card in they dont provide it to you so you need to buy the slot which is the plastic thing that holds the card down and slide your card into. the second thing is you will need to solder that plastic thing on and it should work
Harley Favacho no you can not as they remove the socket, the only difference between the 2 is the socket. if you have the wireless version they don't solder on the 3g/4g socket so you cant insert the card. you can solder the socket you yourself if you have the skills
+OPEN ME UP too bad i tried to clean installation in my tp8 but i cant press the screen after showing next on the windows set up. Any suggestion pls. :(
+TOn Ton there nothing wrong with it you need to install the drives from the lenovo pages which means you need a keyboard and mouse. also you will need a POWERED USB hub to do it. it must be powered or else it won't work as he tablet doesn't have enough power for a mouse, keyboard and USB stick at once. download on your computer and transfer it a lot faster that way
+TOn Ton go to lenovo website then support look for the tablet and there will be driver for you to download. if you can't find it i will provide you a link
this is interesting, as seen it's got an extra mini PCI bus in it, might be wise to check if there's some flash. or GPS module, i'm gonna check this myself, afterall, it's a ThinkPad® ...right, Lenovo? Lenovooo?
Hey, my thinkpad 8 has an display error as seen in the video. th-cam.com/video/3h4febjoPoM/w-d-xo.html this was some weeks ago Right now, the display is all black, but it can be turned on and off. The Touchscreen even reacts (small feedback shaking) although nothing happens on the screen. Do you have an idea what happened and what I can do? Maybe open the tablet and check if all cables are connected correctly? I don't have warranty anymore.
Thank you for your video, do you know if we can replace the micro usb 3.0 port ?

My usb 3.0 port broke as well. I didn't even use the fucking thing much and it broke and cannot charge! Damn...Lenovo thinkpad quality much???

Hello .What is the connection slot of 3g/4g card? mini pcie or m.2 ? Thanks!
m.2 slot
Thank for reply . I want to try to replace the 4g card with a m.2ssd .But mime event does not have m.2 slot.
its not meant to thats why. i am pretty sure if you dont have the 4g version the dont give you the connector.
i will get a m2 socket and solder it into the motherboard someday .But it would be nice if i can know if it will works or not before buy the parts.
that will work.if you soldered the connector on as thats what they do

why dont you load in windows and check if it work or not. it is unlikely it is dead. as i have not seen it happen before on any computer
Is the celullar card slot a standard one, like the one on laptops?
yes if you have the correct model
hey guy.. Do you know if it's possible install a ngff ssd in a 3g module place on a wi-fi only version?

no it is pretty simple you need to soldered the new one on
