Are these reasons enough to convince you to live in London? Or are you set on moving out of London like we did? Comment below. Watch part 1 for why we moved out of London: th-cam.com/video/5ETDx1obzgk/w-d-xo.html

Living on the outskirts or somewhere easily commutable gives you the best of both worlds.

Proximity to family and friends made me once re-consider moving. The next month, that same friend said they were considering moving to Canada from UK and it made me realise. The reason they didn't move had nothing to do with me.
Do what is best for yourself and your immediate family because that's what everyone does.

The biggest pro of London for me are the people. International, interesting, weird, there are scenes, ambition, open-mindedness and more of a positive vibe. In other places you get criticised for not being like everyone else.

I agree with a lot of your comments about London's plus points but it's still not enough to persuade to move back. Primarily because the privilege of living in London comes at such a colossal premium from a financial perspective and the soaring crime means you're having to live a life of fortification and constantly looking over your shoulder when walking the streets. As long as i am within easy access of the big city that's fine for me. I'll stay out in the sticks of Hertfordshire for now. 😊
    Another great topic. 👏🏾👏🏾

I live in Essex. Commuting into London is around 45-50 minutes via train. It’s the best of both worlds I feel.

7 years in Brixton, 10 years in Beckenham and I've seen a massive change for the worst over the years. My 14 year old son was set apon by a gang of roadmen a couple of weeks ago, and that was the last straw. We're moving out. Will certainly miss the convenient transport links and capital appreciation, but I'd rather my son has a much safer, curfew-free childhood. Money's not everything.

Brixon is very expensive and gentrified, the roadmen you describe probably come from outer zones places like Thornton Heath and come down to Brixton like they come to Westminster ( which has the highest crime in London) Brixton is basically the West End these days or any inner London place like Hammersmith.

We can easily decide last min to go to the theatre, or kew gardens, london zoo all a stone throw away. I just cant see myself or my children moving away.

Hey id just like to add and not to direct this at anyone as many black londoners tend to presume other cities or towns in the uk arent culturally diverse or to the level of london. Im in coventry but have lived in london as a child and as an adult plus theres periods ive frequently had to visit london largely where theres african and carribean communities and coventry is 8.9% black.
Its more black than the borough of Ealing. Theres pockets of congolese, nigerian, ghanaians and others along with their registered community associations, churches and shops reflecting this. Just wanted to put this out there. Theres a street in northampton called Wellingborough road with about 4-5 african take away restaurants. Just wanted to put this out there.
On the topic of cultural diversity some londoners could do with seeking out the voices and lived experiences of locals in this respect than presuming sometimes as theres ever changing dynamics at play as well.

I feel London is soooooo expensive to live in not only that but it's also not safe anymore. Yes London is good for different cultures, jobs, entertainment, food etc but it's becoming overcrowded now.
I think as you get older and have a family/children you want to have peace. I feel a lot of other areas are starting to catch up now as more people are moving outside of London.

The entertainment in London can be awesome -- a lot of the biggest acts in the world have a tour date in London, but it can be pricey, In that sense London is good if you are rich - whatever you want to do chances are it is happening shortly in London. However if you are poor in London there are a lot of things going on you'd like to go to but cannot afford to go to. At least in the sticks nothing much is happening so you aren't missing much.

Interesting points! I moved out of Ldn in 2003 till present to nr west coast, im aware u could feel culturally out of it but i persnally never felt singled out & im a conscious black person but im also universal minded which was the main reason i moved in 1st place!!. I get the feeling those that feel Forced to move out may find it more challenging if they identify as Only a black person, & at the end of the day just because being same ethnically doesn't mean u will Always get on with every similar race person!! On a bigger level we are ALL human sharing this planet together this is not my issue, but can be a issue for some they have to come to terms within themselves, not our problem unless they make it one directly!!! The planet is for us all, but are we still divided where we cant live by someone because they appear different!!!!

I suppose my issue is any of these type of videos is once you start talking about moving out of London people sell it as some sort of utopia. crime unfortunately happens everywhere. I live in Beckenham and Beckenham has low crime levels but that does not mean that it is crime free. There is no such place also it’s important to talk about when you move out of London. The stats on Health, income and job prospects are drastically different to London.
