Thanks for the advice. I bought my black 53c Saturday. It now is no longer listed on bibles direct so I got one of the last ones. I got an invoice today by email. I had bought a blackface a while ago so I know how they work.

Got the black one around the same time. It was a limited run for RL Allan. I bought it in spite of the speckling but now I like it. I also have a 1950 Scofield that has the same Oxford Concordance.
Plenty of people agree with you! One nice thing about this art gilt is that it can be "fixed" if it get scratches or water damage. I think I like it mainly because it's something different.
Maybe your comment got kicked to a different video? This is a KJV. I can say that the 2016 ESV NCRs Allan has now released do have the additional charts and illustrations. Finally! The 2011s did not have them.
So basically only 104 more helps pages on the c model vs the regular. Both seem pretty nice. Not sure wich one I'd pick. Are the maps separate. That be the deciding factor

I am trying decided between the 53 and the 53C. How much thicker is it. I know there is a concordance in the 53. Do you know the difference between the concordances. Bibles direct says the 53 is 1 3/4 inch but it says that about the 53c. Is the 53 1 1/2 inch thick and the 53 c 1 3/4. The 43 is listed at 1 1/4.
I don't have a regular 53, but I can tell you that it also has a lot of reference materials in the back. The C has more, but the way they are all arranged alphabetically as one unit is perhaps a more important difference? I suppose there might be 1/4 inch difference. For me, it's a big Bible either way, so more is better.
Tower of Bible the margins do not bother me. I just ended up buying the black. I preferred that over the blue. The blue and red look great but I like black. I figured it’s not too much more. It’s only 1/4 Inch thicker plus the speckled is unique as well as the Yapp overlaps unlike the normal 53. The option will always be there for the 53 since it is the standard in color and size. I have a smaller bible for church so the small difference in size should not be the reason to not get it. That’s for your help
They like the leather smell. My kitty is always huffing my bibles. Fortunately that's all he does. Oh yeah, he also asks for me to read him that "Magnifi-cat" part again.
I'm sorry if I didn't mention it in the video! I was in a weird mood when I made this one as it was late at night. The 'C' stands for Cyclopedic Concordance. It's a dictionary of proper names, a large concordance, and more information all compiled together in alphabetical order. That way you don't have to figure out which reference tool to check each time--just go to the word. Thanks for watching!

It's a beauty. I was reading the speckled Allan NRSV today and appreciating it. But the 53C is such a great block.

Everytime I get my Bible out my cat cozy’s up with it! Never scratching it or bothering it. She just likes to spend time with me & the Lord.
I don't trust my cats that much. Sounds like yours is very spiritual. 😂

The speckles are pretty artsy. Like a painting with splashed paint
I like them because if and when the page edges are damaged, like with moisture, it will be easier to repair them.
Bible and Cat videos are the way to go now. 💕

Do the pages stick together from the paint/speckles?
If anything, I'd say they stick together less as a result. The gold or silver gilt tends to be "stickier" in my experience.
Does this one have the esv maps, temple, and tabernacle illustrations in the back?

That's not my favorite feature, either, but so far it hasn't bothered me much. Hopefully that won't change!
