I am 59 years old and I had three knee surgeries in 2023. Every time I went into the OR, I remember looking around and feeling terrified. I can only imagine how these young children and babies feel. I know that these videos are in the past, but I still find myself praying for them.
I can also feel that feeling ❤️ as I am a patient with cleft lip and palate, ***so in the morning when you wake up the nurses tells not to eat anything including water, then after taking bath they gives you the OT dress , then the time comes to shift you to the OT, then you say bye to your parents and go to the OT, then at inside the OT a feeling of excitement, a little fear, a little tension bothers you , then the cannula is put in your vein (a little pain) , then the main time comes the anesthesiologist brings the mask towards you and put in then you slowly feel dizzy and dizzy and dizzy and zzzzz you fell in deep sleep, you cannot sense a single thing and after 2- 3 hour you feel dizzy again and you feel you had the best sleep ever, then you hear the doctors calling you "Nivedita Nivedita can you hear me Nivedita" again and again and you cannot move cannot talk and you wanted to tell them "yes" but hands are heavy, eyes are not openable, throat is thrusty, you want a sip of water but it is not possible, then you are bring out from OT, you feel cold, very cold and you slowly try to open the eyes and sense the things beside you, you r confused now "where I am now". Then you realise you r in post operative room and after 1 hour they bring you out from there and you can now see your parents, they are waiting for you since 4- 5 hours :) Thank you for reading, btw that was my short story of my 6no. surgery :)
Yesterday i had my first ever surgery for Hemorrhoids. Afcourse not a long surgery but I felt your words. I can’t describe the sleep but when doctors called me “Aee beta uth uth” and i was like yeah i m awake but can’t move any part of body, that was freaking horror for me . But had a good experience. Still facing with body pain because of anaesthesia. Love the way you arranged your words in such a positive way. ❤ .. Made me feel some relief..
Ur right I was only 10 or 11 year old when I got nose correction surgery but I was so afraid the description u have given fits really well with a lil boy mind.
Hi, I’m curious about some things. Are the intubation tubes pre-shaped like that? I have ever seen anything like that. Also, I rarely ever see the anesthesiologist listen to breath sounds after intubation to check for proper placement ie right main stem, etc. is this just done outside of the video frame? No judgements. I love learning about this. I did this in my career for 26+ years. Every day is a new learning day.
Day before yesterday, I was in OT and feeling nervous for general anesthesia. But when the surgery completed, and when i wake up i feel no time has passed i observed that the surgery has already done , found myself in Recovery room. 😂 its an amazing experience. 😂😂😂 when i was waking up slowly , my nerves were responding like the electricity flowing through the body. And the voice of others was very fast. It means the normal voice is audible very fast like the videos played in youtube in 2× speed. It was an amazing experience 😂😂😂😂😂😂.

One day I would love to visit this craniofacial speciality hospital. My life with Treacher Collins syndrome has led me into a career in craniofacial anomalies research and public engagement for awareness and acceptance of craniofacial anomalies like my own. I do a lot of visiting and speaking and lecturing worldwide. I once spent a fortnight teaching and doing research at a Brazilian craniofacial hospital. I have also heard that one exists in Taiwan, and just now learned about Richardsons Face Hospitals through this video, and want to visit there one day.
