Loved Kevin's artwork in 2000ad, in the 80s, when I was a kid. Always a pleasure to see what twisted mad things he drew. I'm sorry to hear he passed away
Not just a terrific artist, but a man who helped change the face of British comics. Got writer/artist/letterer credits onto the page. Helped them build up followings.
I have just spent the summer re-reading all my old 200ADs. Kev, you have been a massive influence to me and your nemesis is amazing and the best! Massive props from an 80s kid and a grown up artist
Amongst a bunch of incredible energised talent back in the heyday of the nerve centre, this guy was a genuine genius. I do not use the word lightly, previously reserving it for Jimi Hendrix and Bill Hicks. Einstein was just quite smart.
I can remember the technician with a pot of glue (dripping) to the right hand side of the wobbling kingdom of Ming. I guess I have a vague memory (i was maybe 9 or 10 though!) ;¬)
"I think I've seen the robot with the teeth before...he made an odd gesture at me once." "That COULD be Ro-Jaws." "I was in a military parade and he kept calling out ' Knickers!'" "It's definitely Ro-Jaws!"
Rest in Peace Kevin O'Neill
Rest in peace, Kevin. You were one of my heroes.

Loved Nemesis, in all his guises. But Kevin's style is just so damned distinctive. It was the hook for me.
awesome.... I miss those days 35 years ago where I'd look forward to picking up 2000ad from my newsagent..... Great times....

As a kid Torquemada was my FAVOURITE 200AD hero. After Old One Eye and Judge Death of course.
I learnt a lot of lessons from Nemesis! a very underated strip! make it into a non hollywood film! be great!
My hero!
Sad to hear Kevin's claim that 2000AD treated him badly. Tarnishes my favourite comic stable.
That seems to be a sad fact of the comic industry. Writers and artists unfortunately get abused
Unfortunately tharg treated his driods terribly back in the day 😔
He has a great unique style.
"Big jobs!!!"
Nemesis: The Warlock was my 1st "favorite" comic.
he also done the artwork for my favourite comic of all time "MARSHALL LAW"
