Aaaaw, that little smile and wink from Steve. A fitting ending for the character, but heartbreaking knowing that he died so young.
Steve leaving was a little eerie. Wishing himself good luck , not knowing he only had a few years of his life left. Made his exit that much more sad. He sure was a beautiful soul with a gorgeous smile. And that wink . 😉RIP mr Faulkner . 💙
It was the same eeriness when Janet Conway quoted the line of poetry to him, "he spends his health to gain his wealth".
That wink gave me chills, in a good way I mean. Goodbye Steve you beautiful beast, you will be missed.
Bye Steve, we all will miss you soon much. You were amazing in character and real life. I hope you are looking down on us prisoner fans with a cheeky smile and cute wink . Rest in heavenly peace STEVE / Wayne Jarratt , forever in our hearts 💎👍🏻🙏🏻👼🏻💋👏🏻 Steve was King 👑 of prisoner and areal gem 💋💎👑👼🏻👼🏻👼🏻💜💙💚❤️❤️✌🏻️💘
HI&RH PRINCE ALEXIS VON -HABSBURG-LOTHRINGEN, Well said.. I just played his legendary wink a couple of times, and got all teary with myself. 💙
He wasn't to shabby at all
Yeah, Steve Fawkner was a damn good bloke and a good officer, always on the ball when sh*t was going down!
Wayne Jarratt was a sexy man. Gorgeous smile. Can't believe he died so young.
One of those old sayings "only the good die young". RIP.
@ 13:01 - Aww that last smile and wink from Steve Faulkner :( R.I.P Wayne Jarratt.
Yeah, I think it was probably a play on the fact that he got it off with the previous receptionist, Wendy (what a stud)! He couldn't get it on with this new one because she couldn't speak! lol
Also, back to his first appearance and opening scenes on the show (episode 245), he started out with some light flirting with the receptionist, Julie... and he gave her the same wink! How cool.
The detective looks like Jerry Springer.
Wayne Jarrett joined the regular cast of PCBH in episode 245 as Steve Fawkner. Only two episodes later he was stripped to his pants when found by the prisoners during a riot !!! Jarrett became the only regular male cast member after Gerald Maguire/ Jim Fletcher left. He became a favourite with cast and viewers. He worked out the end of his contract and decided to leave after being on the show for a year. Jarrett left in episode 316, but continued to appear on other TV shows and some theatre too. He sadly died from a brain tumour on 14th April 1988. Thank you so much for being part of a great show. RIP
Very sad what happened to Wayne. RIP.
14th April 1988!? A day before my 8th birthday
He died on my 11th birthday. I think I was watching pcbh at the time
It was gerard Maguire not gerald do your research before you comment 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's a shame he never made any future guest appearances on Prisoner since he was such an instrumental character and great bloke who everyone liked.
Chrissie gets some great lines, "you can't go around killing people". Well you did Chrissie lol
Ere what yerr mean? Bill Jackson?
E was a Bahhhhstard
Lol.
Hmmm Bill Jackson springs to mind
Chrissie being 26 is funnier looks about 35
Chrissy you killed the social worker not the doctor as you say on many interviews.
She was 31 at the time.
That detective is the spitting image of Jerry Springer right down to his hair. Sally Dempster reminds me of a young Julie Walters when she was in the iconic 80s "Boys From The Blackstuff" British TV series. Glad Bea was there for Cookie & made her see sense; good mirrors for each other. Cookie & Sally are interesting contrasts. Cookie was right about being lucky that she earns her own living so could afford to stick with her husband a bit longer for her daughter's sake before finishing with him.
I’m still mad that Steve’s out and Fergo is in lol
He is lol
Jerry Jerry jerry
Yes, I thought the same. Looks just the same.
Latham's pretty ungrateful, her baby dady treated her like a queen...
Or the writers just forgot.
@Camille McALoon yes we did, he was from the mens prison. Smh
Andrea Lee played by Michael Long. Chrissie met him in Barnhurst.
Yeah, but he was taken to prison way away from her. Not much she could do about that.
He was called mick she never really loved him I don't think she actually liked him to be honest it was just a means to an end
Daniels is right, some people go through their whole life having nothing yet Sally Dempster has everything yet is so miserable. Be grateful for what you got.
Well, I didn't think the hubby was all that great. I would have been happy with the house, money and little girl. The more he went away the happier I would have been.
Classic case of WHITE privlege.
well money can't bring you love or make you happy, that's why.
She had that pretty little girl. That toy dog looks like the dog from Blues Clues. I don't know if they showed that in Australia. It was pretty popular here in Anerica in the 1990s. It was on Nickelodeon. My oldest nephew James and our little neighbor Anna loved watching it.
America
Watching Wayne leave and knowing whats in front of him is so very very sad - makes you reflect on what your doing with your own life or not doing more to the point - who knows what could be round the corner for any of us.
That final wink and smile almost made me well up - almost - im not a big Jessie
That was the saddest scene I've watched in the whole of 316 episodes so far, based on knowing what happened to Wayne.
Yes, and back to his first appearance and opening scenes on the show (episode 245), he started out with some light flirting with the receptionist, Julie... and he gave her the same wink! What a character.
Concert with Pentridge ? Why have I already got 'Let the midnight special' song going around in my head 😂
Woodridge, not Pentridge
That wink from Steve would charm the pants off anyone. Me especially. 🥰
The good old days when people went home for lunch
I know people who still do that here in central England, in a small town.
I've seen Colleen Powell wear that black and white dress that Sally Dempster is wearing.
this show is amazing!!!
I see Sally Dempster is wearing Colleen Powell's dress from the future
I've reached the conclusion that Sally is more of a selfish and ungrateful person rather than a victim of poor circumstances like Gail was. She has just one child who is not that difficult to control with the correct approach. I mean, if someone as simple as Maxine can manage it then anybody can...... I've been quite impressed with her reformed character recently. Yes, Sally has a swine of a husband, but he earns good money and is not a drunken slob like Gail's was. She had more luxuries than most people have and should have kept herself under better control than that at the end. But the trouble with some people is whatever they have is never enough, and the greedy streak in them always wants more. RIP Wayne Jarrett.
8ballpoolking1 If he couldn't see that his wife was hurting and hurting his the child because he loved money more and he "loved his life style" then bravo...on her
@8ballpoolking1 well said!
And unlike Gail, Sally could afford home help, so she could relax or go shopping, for which she had the money.
Don't know why but laugh so much whenevef Bea says "silly bitch!"
Was Neil Murray based on The Yorkshire Ripper? It's around the same time as the actual case. Peter Sutcliffe was caught just the year before.
Not sure? I wonder if he had an aversion to prostitute's too????
OH MY GOD! If Chrissie is twenty-six, I'm fifteen! She's at least thirty in my opinion.
Your perception of age at just 15 is not very good, everyone looks old at your age
I should have said it differently I'm 52 I meant to say If Chrissie is twenty-six, then I'm fifteen.
That's what I was thinking too!
Chrissie had a hard life. I remember when she told Meg about her father keeping on her when she was a young teenager and her drunken mum telling her "have a drink!"
+Sheri451 I think the real age of he actress would've been 31 or 32 at this point as she was born in 1951.
Steve you will be missed no more eye candy
Don’t worry, there’s still The Freak a more prettier person you can’t find.
Amanda Muggleton, who played Chrissie was born in 1951, and this episode aired at the end of 1982. That would make her 31 years old and Chrissie who she was playing was 26
Good luck to us all: great closing line for Steve (Wayne Jarrett) one of the few good guys in the series so far, although I would include Fletch in that catagory). Great job by Val as Bea leaving the prison not as an escapee but a free woman ,at least temporarily, also great job of acting by Amanda. Bea's talk to cookie-- beautiful. she finally faces up to everything .As she said :maybe things would have been different had she tried to work things out.
It's curious that Meg is so sympathetic towards Chrissie. She seems to have forgotten that Latham was the one who killed her husband back in episode 1. I guess the writers have forgotten as well.
Not at all, it's just that Meg is very forgiving, almost like a religious person might be.
Rusty Keys Can't be perfect. Remember something no one ever thought these shows would ever be rerun again.
No, Meg forgave her.
It was episode 3 she killed megs first husband.
She cared more for the inmates than her own son Marty back in the early days. It's probably why he treated her so cold when he turned up years later with that psycho mate of his.
They always seem to use the same yellow car like in this episode & previous ones too. lol
That Mrs Dempster is one weird looking woman .
Lol yeah bit similar to a spider. Beady little eyes and all teeth!
She wasn't actually aiming for her husband. Anyone with eyes less than a pea apart would have poor depth perception. Should have been her defense.
Officer Barfield's sister
I'd go there
I love Maxine in these episodes
Me to she is lovely.
THAT DETECTIVE IN THE BROWN SUITE AT 2:47 LOOKS LIKE JERRY SPRINGER.
Wayne Jarratt: a little bit of trivia... 1. he was the third cousin of John Jarratt who played Mick in Wolf Creek. 2. he actually did love and owned more than one yacht. so happy sailing in the next life Wayne xxx
Interesting. I wonder if they let him write his own script about the yacht.
@@ajs41 moren likely... a lot of ppl in this would ad lib :) xxx
Yes, and back to his first appearance and opening scenes on the show (episode 245), he started out with some light flirting with the receptionist, Julie... and he gave her the same wink! What a character haha
What a fluke, that card hitting Sheila in the face, caught her off guard! Definitely not part of the script. 35:21
So funny 😁
I'm finding the silent characters quite creepy. Particularly, the silent officers.
Yes it's a sort of cultural misunderstanding based on time not place. Today it would seem weird to have silent characters in the background but back then it was obviously very normal and no-one thought anything of it. It may have actually been realistic funnily enough, because not all of the prison officers in a real prison would be talking all the time.
It was simply a way of paying them lower rates.
It won't be the same without Steve
Bea: ya know, I know a way you can get rid of your husband. Lmao
Bea : Dirty deeds done dirt cheap. I wonder if the parole board would approve of Bea becoming a hit woman. Mrs. Davidson and Meg. would think that's a wonderful idea.
The way Colleen spoke to Judy in reception... She needs to be fired as much as Joan she's a bully. At least Joan gets a bashing every once in a while but with Po face throughout the series she doesn't get one punch.
Poor Lizzie ...the card Bea accidently fliciked hit her right in the face , for real @35:22. Shelia laughed it off.
We are not blind🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Neil's a superb character and actor.
Should've had him in for longer.
Oh dear did he just say, I think I've found myself a new girlfriend, when the little kid was sat on his knee, could never say that now.
Meal of the day: savoury pancakes and rice, that alright?
28:25 That little girl is such a little cutie pie🙂😉. But l don't think very much of that weird posh mum & the father character's much.
sad to see Steve leave. he is the best of any of the male officers that works at Wentworth by far....
What about Dennis Cruickshank? He was OK too lol
Jock Stewart was a character
If you look carefully you can see Mr Dempster (or the stunt man) that gets hit by Mrs Dempster is wearing protective gear around his legs and knees under his trousers.
The nerve!!
Sam Ryder It was a stunt man.
They complain about being short staffed but look how they treat their staff.
Colleen is just as vile as Ferguson she's always digging her teeth into any male staff member that gets hired
@@rosslamb6643 the Junior officers don't stand a chance with Ferguson and Powell as superiors. You're absolutely right, Powell is just as vile.
@@tefllife2024 They're both work bullies, but with Powell she's a damn hypocrite always banging on about officer solidarity but then goes on to be vile at any short coming another worker may have or will wrongly accuse them of something and not even bother to apologise after. She even camped inside a union meeting when she was the deputy governor (not supposed to be in there) just so other officers wouldn't go against what she wanted. Someone should have told her to get out.
@@tefllife2024 She also makes everything her business such as Lizzie and the fire, her job is to make sure prisoners behave it isn't to be a bully detective. She does the same when an old friend of hers is in prison and over hears her talking about her petty theft occumpace, Colleen spends the entire day wondering what to do??? the woman needs to get a bloody life.
@@rosslamb6643 she was truly on her high horse when Lizzie burnt Syd's house. Sandy Edwards truly gave her heaps. She was doing long term deals with Kate Peterson, getting information from her and calling in inspector Grace often to come in without the Governors knowledge, she should've got demoted for that.
Haha! The detective looks like Jerry Springer!
Karen Utting I wanted to say that but I'm ten months too late!
Haha! Tall silent guy! Great minds think alike! Well I think he does. Glad someone agrees!
It was an early role for him
It’s not Jerry Springer
6:35 That policeman is sharp, his observations are truly brilliant, not sure what he expected being in the country.
4:43 Chrissie is 26, really.😲
pause at 23:33 for miserable hamster face action from Sally. She looks great dressed as some kind of futuristic nun, Peter is gonna miss out on some good lunchtime banter.
"I'll fire the both of you" ?? Weird thing to say.
Interesting use of language.
The actor who plays Bea's foreman had a small role in Mad Max. Sadly he died a little while ago in one of the terrible bushfires Australia is known for...
also lizzie was in mad max.
Judy is very respectful I like how she speaks to mrs Davidson ❤
after steve's help w cating the looney you'd think they would reinstate him
Chrissie's 26 ! ! ! And I'm the Queen Mother! ! Yes. Mrs. Doomster is a self-absorbed, overbearing brat. She has everything for a comfortable life. If the old man isn't having an affair, maybe she should really let her hair down. Someone should throw the Freak off the roof.
How do you get her on the roof is the first place?
I couldn't agree with you more.
that's mrs' powells dress when she has an affair....
Jerry, Jerry, Jerry!
Yeah great to see him
22/9/18 - 35:23 - Lizzie gets slapped in the face by a card by Bea when she’s flipping the cards.
We are not blind🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I almost quit watching right before the Freak came on the show. WOW! Am I glad someone told me to wait because the best was yet to come!
True. I thought I was going to completely lose interest when we lost Vera, and then Jim. Kate kept things interesting for a while, but I love Joan almost as much as Vera if not more.
same here im surprised how good it still is
Right To Censor, things get better when Nola McKenzie shows up.
Poor Sally Dempster. Sits at home complaining of her situation. A big house with all the comforts. A beautiful child, an endless bank account.
At 12:35 Colleen vaguely acts like she cares about Chrissy's ordeal
Yes Judy dose spend more time at the prison as Mrs Powell said it was waste time release ing her
Chrissy should have said he forced her to leave rather than admit they wanted just a few hours together. What a dodo...or perhaps just in state of shock.
Just take her back to Wentworth. No counselling or anything for almost being murdered.
Goodbye Steve you handsome devil.
Shout out to good old Steve Fawkner! Damn good officer and all around good bloke! Always on the ball when serious crap was going down in the prison. Shame he never made a guest appearance after resigning... Also always wondered if he was named after the Melbourne suburb of Fawkner.
That new receptionist is a bit of alright.
Yes, she looks like a Bond girl.... except she's a mute! lol
Steve we all love you and miss you you brought so much joy and smiles to all of your many fans your beautiful smile and great acting skills are very much missed by us all thank you beautiful angel and r.i.p ❤
Is that copper Jerry Springer 😂
Yes
Haha.
No
@@jencavacas4625 where’s yr sense of humor Lady
The supervisor at Bea's printing job appears to be Jenny Hartley's private detective.
Some jobs can wreck marriages.
The Freak says that no one would miss Chrissie. What a joke she is. The Freak that is.
Her daughter Elizabeth would miss her and so would her brother Derek, and I reckon some of the women and some of the staff would.
No one would miss the Freak if she was dead, that's for certain.
At least Chrissie got some sympathy from Joan 🤣
Hehe very helpful words
the concert plans......... oh no, the midnight specials on the way..... :)
I hated seeing Mr. Faulkner going and FrankenFurgeson staying.
G'day. Wowser is an Aussie slang term for someone who is against having fun or is perhaps superior and moralistic or even a teetotaler. So it can have a few different meanings. Lizzie thought that they were against having fun so she called them a bunch of wowsers.
2:45 is that Jerry Springer in Australia?lol.
Yup, early role
Edward S Maybe he is Jerry Springer.
Yes, his career started on Prisoner. Lol.
Nice classic Mercedes Benz Peter got knocked over by lol.
Lol call that running someone over, she hardly hit him haha
20 miles an hour is enough to kill someone.
I love fawkners final scene....it is one scene I will remember always he was one sexy hunk
He'd probably get arrested these days for smiling and winking at the female receptionist. It would be classed as sexual harassment.
@@ajs41 how. I know your tongue is in cheek, though.
Yes, Steve Fawkner was a damn good bloke, was sorry to see him go!
I’m a straight bloke and even I thought he was a hunk 🤣
@@kutaman1 your clearly gay🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love Erroll's back hair LOL
How hideous was it? 😂😂
38:48 Is that Jenny Powell Colleen's daughter?
Yeah, I'm sure it is
No it’s not.
I didn’t realise Jerry Springer played a police detective in Prisoner 😂
The new typist seems to be up to standard. I own a jumper similar to Bea's, now I'm unsure if I should wear it outside anymore
You'll be okay if you take up golf.
The television report said 'Christine Margaret Latham' yet in earlier episodes she was inducted as 'Christine Angela Latham'.
i love maxine shes a good girl .
Little Michelle looks very smart. She started writing her letters or something.
*22:10* Later on, Colleen wears that exact same dress.
She always reminds me of Donald ducks girlfriend Daisy Duck in episode 340.
😭😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔. Goodbye Steve, I will miss you. And Wayne. You're in the arm of the Angels.
Sally the housewife needs a boy toy. That would put her right
@38:40 when Bea goes back to Cookie's home. She tells her I'll fix up some Pancakes and rice???
Wtf did i just hear.
That’s indeed what she says
00:14 I had a similar reaction when I found leatherwear under my grandma's bed.
Lol
I'd have been mightily impressed had I found leatherwear under my grandma's bed, but there you go...
Haha! A fellow Aussie indeed. Yeah, it's a bit of an old fashioned expression and mostly went out of vogue in the early 80s. Apparently the word 'wowser' has actually been around since about 1900. Always good to learn new things. Glad to help out a mate. I'm originally from Sydney myself as it turns out. Small world eh?
1400min- Good old Freaky Fergo, in to cheer Chrissy up.
Always understaffed lol I know, let's suspend officers and make more work by planning some concert.
Now look here, SWEET!
42:56 After his wife tells him that she will be hiring Maxine back, Mr. Dumpster says to her, "You do, and I'll fire the both of you!"
He only sees her as another employee, a mere servant to his whims--talk about a master-slave relationship. Of course, she didn't have to run him down with the car--after all, he did say MAYBE never.
Mr Faulkner will be much happier away from Wentworth and all the "drama and collusion". I'd like to see Meg more involved in working with the halfway house but Meg seem to feel obligated to be at Wentworth. Meg is the best officer at the prison. She's able to maintain respect from the prisoners and often help them too.
Concert klaxon. Is Margo’s infamous Midnight Special about to be inflicted upon us?
@4:16 powell to Fields if your finished get out. in your face love it
Powell is badass and sarcastic.. love it!
It was hilarious watching Sally knock her husband down
@stu good Her acting is comical
4:42 26 year old !! 😂😂😂 haha don’t make me laugh, Chrissie is apparently 26 !! 😂😂😂
Is it only me who has noticed that at 35;20 Bea flicks the cards and accidentally hits Lizzie in the face? It made some of the women laugh including Margo. It was ment to be a serious moment talking about Falkner leaving but it made some of the women giggle then go serious again
I noticed.
We are not blind 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
