I worked for Mike at this period and its 100 per cent spot on - a very stressful time and so many great hits lots all down to sheer jealousy of true talent, the man is a genius and should now be a Sir - Best Neil Sean

I just looked up more of his songs. HOLY COW this guy is a LEGEND!! All those Dead or Alive songs are still rotating in my playlist when I’m working out. Many of them you never heard on the radio, just the clubs as he mentioned. I have such awesome memories dancing to all those songs in Houston clubs back in the day. Awesome interview Mike.

I agree…today, I saw a YT clip recommended to me- something about Keith Richards warming up backstage somewhere recently, but all I saw was this very old, crotchety & frail man hunched over an electric guitar - looked like senile abuse to be honest.
(also didn’t know KR is only 5’7”…funny how ‘the stage’ amplifies one’s stature)

Much appreciated interview Mike. Amazing, back in the day, I thought SAW "were" the business, certainly didn't think of them as bucking the system. Incredible. And that Mike Stock talks reasonably openly about it when he knows, even now , what he's potentially forfeiting. Excellent show. The song Mike Stock is talking about " You Spin me" , has over 200 million on TH-cam.

I must have missed this a few weeks ago. Thanks 👍
An outstanding, *rabbit out of the hat* moment Mike! This gent was so humble. I've of course heard of him. Couldn't fail to, in the mid to late eighties. Charts were full of their songs. I won't bore you with the artists. You're already aware of them.
I saw Queen at Wembley, so sorry can't remember the year. Mercury was hopeless on three numbers.
His voice was rough. I was near the front. My friend swore to me, that he was miming at one stage; and Roger Taylor covered his vocal, unseen at the back. I didn't believe him. However my mind went back a bit, to the mid 70s, I saw them and I remember the band couldn't recreate the sound.
    The difference? Technology.
Coming together nicely about the impostor.
    Bye-bye mate.
I'll catch up with the other stuff you've included; another time.
    Many thanks again.

And like Mike said, if I sit down and work it out on piano or guitar, I can eventually remember bits and pieces, but basically the songs I wrote in my 90s bands have faded from my memory. Side note: It is interesting how sometimes if I happen to try to play one of my old songs, which is very rare, I can revisit the headspace I was in when I wrote it. It’s an interesting phenomenon. I’m sure it’s common amongst writers. Anyway, nice comment. Be well! 🕊

All was well organised to make it a succes..
Then came napster who changed the game..
a lot of money stopped coming in due to free downloads.. on internet...
It never really recovred the music industry... form that Kazaa, winamp, limewire era early 2000s..
They tried to harnass it via Spotify etc but this furter stiffend the music branc, market..
Music blomed form rock and roll era 1950s from bill Haley, andrew sisters and Elvis int fullo on in 1970s... aftre whichthe synthesizer and drumcomputer were introduced...

Firstly Paul Mccartney is 80 not 85. Agree his voice is nowhere near as strong as it was but his performance at Glastonbury was roundly praised by most critics. Secondly the whole video argument really started 40 years ago with MTV and not when TH-cam started. So there is nothing new there. Mccartney has written more number one hits than anyone else both in the UK and US, with the Beatles, Wings and other artists with all due respect..

There's some interesting comments from a man named Bjorn Shigg who uploaded the video: saying Dave Clark took songwriting credit when the other band members wrote the songs or he paid songwriters for songs and put his name on the credits. Also he states that Dave Clark didn't drum on the recorded tracks or live for that matter.
