I have the blue one too. It spoiled me. I’m no longer thinking of any other diver now. This can easily be my only analog watch and I wouldn’t miss anything else.
@@vinaynagdev03 most people report 5-10s. Mine is fast at ~17s a day. But I don't mind it at all. I set it a minute behind time and it needs 7 days to become a minute ahead of time. I don't mind resetting it every 7 days, but it can also be regulated of course!
Brand Identity and Prestige might not mean as much in this world drowning in microbrands, but I just find the Orient brand/logo/identity SOOOO COOOL!!!!!
I have Kamasu with black dial, for about 1.5 year. Overall it's a great watch but with 3 issues. Lets start with minor issues first: 1: Engraving on the crown is really shallow, after wearing the watch with stone beaded bracelet on the same hand, engraving itself has gone after 1 mont of use. This was of course MY FAULT, but still I got the impression that logo was too shallow engraved, like printed. Probably for most users that problem won't occur. 2: Crown is rather small and not so grippy. Sometimes its hard to tighten it, especially when you have sweaty or wet fingers. 3. Biggest problem: Occasionally notches on the tube do not corRectly "bite" the crown when you tighten it, leaving about 1 mm space between the case of the watch and crown cap. My assumption is that notches on the screw arent processed very well in factory. It happens from time to time, not every time but after tightening i have to double check if its screw down correctly. IF SOME OF YOU GUYS HAD SIMILIAR ISSUES PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Nonetheless, the watch itself is really, really good, specs are great, dimensions are superb for my 7" wrist. Definitely worth its price.
The crown does need to be about 2mm larger in diameter and the damned, crown "pop out" spring is way too stiff making it much harder to engage the thread to re-screw that crown back down for water resistance. The crown threads are ok it is a spring issue. That said this is very nice watch overall for the $200 I paid for it.
Good information here. I have a couple rays ( orange and blue). I was thinking about the green kamasu, but i went with the citizen promaster blue dial. Also a killer watch for a great price.
My black PVD Kamasu came on an excellent silicone strap. It's a pity they are not available as an option for the other colours. Nonetheless I intend to flip the black Kamasu at some stage - I live in hope that Orient will replicate this red dial on the Star Diver. That would be awesome.
I have the blue dial version, and overall the watch is great, but I need to give out the warning. The movement F6922 may be delivered with a flaw on the mainspring barrel which makes it run +60 s/d on the wrist, and it may come quite unregulated, running face up +9 s/d. I got mine serviced under warranty, and at service center they told me the mainspring barrel flaw is quite common, but it was fixed for free. After regulation, mine Mako III is keeping time within chronometer specs, and it runs on average +2 s/d independent of wearing habits.
No kidding an addiction for sure … I’m up to 4 Orient automatics now ,Blue Kamasu, Red Mako 3 , Green Baby Triton and Mako 3 20 th Anniversary Edition … Great job Orient
I love this video. I can't stop watching it. I don't need this watch, but if I were buying only one, relatively inexpensive watch, I bet you it would be this one... based on my experience with the Ray II...
Wearing this at the moment , looking at the video, very accurate watch - mucg better than my Breitling which was more than 10 times the cost! Orient watches are fantastic value for money !
I have the green one and I lovit. Manage to find it on Amazon UK for £150. Sapphire, in house hand winding, automatic, hacking movement, diver 200m, unic bezel design. Perfect watch
I have this same red dial version. Great watch overall, my only critique is that the crown is very small and feels pretty flimsy for a dive watch. Otherwise an excellent watch.
Kano with red Dial is much better ! Easier Crown & Bezel operation . Dial is only slightly larger & it wears smaller than the proportions would suggest. There is domed Sapphire available for it as well . 🥂
Oddly enough i'm wearing it now, still one of my most accurate but when you have an issue you'll find the support is pretty much non-existent ,the main two are ; crown & stem breaking + locking bezel which will turn into a dull sounding 60 click ,an attractive watch and love Orient pieces but they're practically disposable due to the lack of support.
This is the stuff that needs to surface when it comes to "reviews". All the new stuff looks and works great. Thank you for sharing potential problems. Out of curiosity- your Orient is more accurate than which others that you own?
@@cetterus Apologies i was referring to my automatics in general (8) running at +/- 2 however a recent acquisition was the Orient sun & moon which is a touch more say +5 but it hasn't had a full days wear as yet.
@@tedblack2415 For Germany there is an Orient service support, but only in Munich, otherwise you need to send your watch by post for service. I do not know how it is in other countries or US.
I thought the Kamasu and Mako III were different watches with the Mako III and the Kano being the same thing. RA-AA0003R19A (41.8mm / sub bezel / Arrow Hands) vs RA-AA0008B (43.6mm / coin bezel / Sword Hands)
Ok help me understand the differences between this model and the mako USA 2. The Mako USA 2 comes with solid end links, sapphire crystal and drill lugs. ..
I give my kamasu a bezel mod so it fits skx ceramic bezel insert + miltat super jubilee bracelet. It looks more and more amazing, however the watch lug tip to lug tip become bigger to 50mm due to the super jubilee solid endlink If you have smaller wrist be cautious because it may make the watch oversized on your wrist
LOVE the red dial, but alas the date and even day at the 3 are a deal breaker for me. The arrow hand is also no my style, but the indices are sharp. Every watch with rounded markers isn’t mimicking Rolex and I say this as someone who has zero interest in Rolex or rounded indices.
I will not speak about the colors 'cause the tastes are diverse but the Orient has to put more effort into better bracelets or at least produce some OEM to buy separately. I have the defender mk2 wonderful watch but endlinks are worse than my 80€ Invicta. Maybe should cases have lugs made for straight end link so everyone can buy some aftermarket bracelets. I mean diver on leather or nato strap is a big no go by me.
they should make it with no date ( more balanced clean display)....more attractive classic...when you dive you know already your day....and the date is on your phone! lol
As a new owner I am not that impressed. The lighting has to be perfect to see the red dial. Most often it looks nearly black. It has been many years since I had to correct the time on my watch weekly. Should have know I guess.
It is an entry level automatic watch, when it comes to the movement. Having to adjust it weekly is normal, if you mind having it 1 or 2 minutes off. It can loose 10-15s a day and that's normal with pretty much every automatic watch at this level. When you say many years without having to correct a watch, what do you mean? You've been probably using quartz pieces
That’s why its beautiful. It being low key red makes the watch even mysteriously gorgeous. Not brightly colored like the new ones that came out. Just the right kind of pop.
By all accounts, I should love this watch. It represents a great value for the money with all of its specs taken into consideration. I just... don't like it. I think it's just the overall design does nothing to excite me.😕
I feel you. I had it for a couple of months and found myself not reaching for it as much as I should have. At the end I sold it. The refinement is just not there.
I bought myself a black and gold version for my fortieth birthday,a truly beautiful watch.
Thinking of doing the same for my 45th.
How has it been holding up till today?
@@thebigbadwolf3575 it's fine, but i don't wear it every day.
Got the green dial about 10 months ago. Can't complain, it's beautiful and different from other divers.
There certainly is a need for more red dialed watches...
The Oris Cherry and Orient Kamasu Red dial are made of dreams for me, so glad i found them
@@lt3997 The Oris Cherry is a stunning colour! Id prefer that over the blue they offer in say the 65 divers...

Yes it is so hard to lock the crown and the bezel of my kamasu is so stiff
I wish more companies would use a strap like mido does on the ocean star.
I put mine on a strapcode jublilee straight away and it took the watch to another level 🔥
