Interesting review, I'm over 1000nm on my built 2GR turbo and really the Tilton was the only good option. I went with a full weight flywheel for being more Street friendly. Love the family interaction in this video. Will keep this brand in mind for a replacement.
@@BarkLife yes very fun but the torque can cause problems as I've stripped 5th gear from it. Looking forward to hearing your longer term report on the clutch. Always good to have more options!!
I just pulled one of these JUNK clutches out of a customers car to replace with a name brand single disc setup. Customer installed his adler clutch a few weeks prior, and failed shortly after. After disassembly it was clearly evident the clearances for their custom throwout bearing was pushing on the pressure plate parly and causing the clutch to slip and the reason it failed prematurely. You would need an additional 3/8" clearance inside the bellhousing in order for the the clutch to work proper. If I had to guess, it looks like they use the same basket, and friction discs for a multitude of applications but changing the flywheel and the disc spline to match the application. To be fair they may work ok with other applications however, o2j / o2a vag transmission revisions do not work proper and the customer is out 500 bucks cost plus my labor to replace.
Well, I will be doing follow-up videos of real-life experiences with this clutch. It sounds like there may have been no pedal stop installed and possibly a throw out bearing alignment issue, maybe? Mine aligned perfectly, but I can only speak to my experience. Did your customer reach out to Adler? I have limited experience with them, but they were super helpful and responsive with any questions I have had. Hopefully, your customer has better luck with the single disc.
@@BarkLife The clutch was partly disengaged due to improper clearances, a pedal stop with littley do nothing for this. Furthermore, you must not be familiar with vag o2a/j gearboxes, you have no adjustment for the throw-out bearing and if adjustment may be needed the clutch supplier should have engineered the throwout bearing to be shimable, or the right offset to start with and that would have actually solved the problem. As far as alignment of the discs, lets be real here, if you get the input shaft through the splines on the discs, the first time you step on the clutch it will center the discs. Also it should be worth nothing the clutch supplier does not include an alignment tool, or at least in the vag variants.
@garagehacks69 The disks/friction plates can be put in out of order or reversed. This could cause a situation where the pressure plate would never fully disengage. All I'm saying is unless you installed it with the paperwork in front of you, I wouldn't discredit the clutch. The machine shop I took it to checked it's balance and went through the parts they said the pieces were nearly identical to a clutch company that would have charged 1800 for a similar clutch. I will be beating on this clutch with slicks so time will tell :) Best of luck to you.
I haven't gotten a chance to run the car, but the clutch feels just as good as other 1500 dollar clutches I have handled. The flywheel was 100% in balance, etc. When I run it, I will do a second driving review!
I have two set in drift cars with 600hp+, ceramic no spring option, whole season without problem. Pedal feel is much stronger, you need lot of force to push it and it grabs immediately so its tricky to moving off. Its handle like typical sport clutch, i not reccomend it for daily traffic use. But for motorsport it work great, for that price i'm not see better option. Its very light(whole set is about 9kg), so gear change is fast and afert clutch kick you feel aggresive kick.
Also, this vid is not a review, its a paid promo. Nothing in this vid has any real life testing, its some dude talking about how he got a free clutch and installs it on an engine out of the car...
@@BarkLife It's clearly visual signalling a review. And, being given a clutch to make video is still considered a sponsorship ie BEING PAID to make a video endorsing the product.

@garagehacks69 no clearance issues on k24 with e153. It's a review of what the components look like, not a running review. I will be doing s follow up soon. What clutch setup did he end up using what was his power level.

I almost did a 2gr!!! That has to be a absolute blast to drive!

Im thinking to buy the street version, how is still performing, and how is the street manners of the one you got?
I haven't gotten a chance to run it but as soon as I do I will do a follow up on it 100%
Can it support up to 700 horsepower?
The twin disc is rated for 750 wheel trq they have a triple disc all the way over 1k ftlbs, so 700 is no problem
How’s the clutch holding up ?
Honestly, I haven't gotten a chance to run it as I haven't finished the car. You can be sure that as soon as it is, I'll do a follow-up video.
Did the kit come with new arp flywheel bolts ?
Not arp if I recall correctly. Sorry for the delayed answer. I missed your question.
Hi:) I'm also considering buying this clutch, isn't it trash? how does the clutch pedal behave? Thanks

That's good to hear
You will be very disappointed only last me 3 months my video
The car is waiting for a tune. I did get a chance to drive it a little at idle it's loud but kinda expected. What kind of failure did you experiance.
@BarkLife yes I got it on my car just pull it off. It make damage to my gear box output shaft brearing too
@BarkLife best use single from clutch master, white
No usage feedback?
I can barely find info on this clutch lol
I will be doing a full video
@@BarkLife please do. Is it a yes or no at least tell me that lol. I need a clutch and been eyeing this one
any updates?
Life has happened and I haven't finished the build but it is 95 % complete.

Wierd it doesn't say review. 😜 Not paid just a free clutch.
