So you actually cut the trolling motor shaft? I guess you cut if from the top end and the head mounts back on top correct?

Correct. Remove the head at the top. Disconnect the wiring. Used a hacksaw to cut the shaft (be careful not to nick the wires inside the shaft) I cut it as short as possible to reduce water resistance. It was noticeably faster after cutting the shaft down. I also removed the clamp that holds the shaft from sliding down into the mount for a lower profile on the head.

What are you doing to stow and release the motor when on the water? Do you just leave it dropped until you're ready to pull kayak out of water?

I have not come into a situation where I've needed to stow it while out on the water. I can walk to the front of the kayak and press the pedal to stow it if needed but like I said I havent needed to do that in the three years ive had the trolling motor on the kayak. When I get to the launch I back my truck down the boat ramp until my tailgate touches the water. I slide the kayak out right out of the back of my truck and I immediately start controlling the kayak with my remote. Leaving the lake is the same process. I can launch/pull out in under two minutes.

Awesome rig mate. looking to do the same thing on my Native water craft. How did you get the 360 onto the trolling motor?

I altered the generic bracket that the 360 came with. I drilled some holes on the Terrova frame rail and it mated right up.
