I have this and love it. My version is silver and very attractive and so easy to use. It was $1000. I’m still playing around with the different drinks and settings and different beans. Foam quality is great. I’m using whole milk.
My investigations showed that during the sales there were two versions of this machine. The expensive version included two additional options - Cortado and Cold Americano.
Thank you Kev 🙂 and also for the discount code for beans, much appreciated! Got the Magnifica Plus here and have been a bit scared to set it up, coming from a long time nespresso machine user - but this all sounds really encouraging!
I agree with the cappuccino, just got one yesterday and so far loving it. The main problem, coffee consumption already increased by a lot here, specially my wife 🤣🤣 Now, my model has 18 beverages (US model) and I saw a guy saying that the Flat White is the real cappuccino, still have to try it out, I only did the cappuccino and cappuccino plus, other the coffee, etc..
Watched many of your reviews. Always great! Which makes best espressos and cappuccinos between the Dinamica Plus and the Magnifica Plus? And which would be the best buy? Thanks.
I think DeLonghi might have sent you a ringer because I own the Plus and the milk temp is no different than their other models. A bit on a cool side. Around 140F. I do like the details in your videos. Good job!
Wow what a great vid, thank you i just subscribed. Would you say that this is twice as better as the magnifica evo ? I dont use cold drinks and money aside just wondering if its worth to spend extra for this. Thank you 🙏
Most Bean to cup machines do not have strong steaming capability, heavy cream tends to trip them all up. Love our E8 but anything heavier than half and half chokes it.
Great review Kev! How would compare the espresso and cappuccinos between this machine and the Ninja Luxe Cafe? I’ve been considering both of these machines. Which one would you recommend more?
Being a portafilter machine, the Ninja Luxe does take the lead for espresso, but I have to say, the Magnifica plus isn't all that far behind, in my opinion. Milk texture, on auto I'd say the Magnifica plus is slightly better - but milk temp, the Magnifica plus is better than most one touch bean to cup machines, but you can go quite a bit hotter with the milk via the Ninja if you like scalding cappuccino, which I know some people do, and each to their own ;-). In terms of longevity and durability, it's a bit of an unknown for the Ninja so far, as Ninja are new to coffee machines - DeLonghi have a huge track record with coffee machines of course, and they tend to be among the best in this regard when it comes to their fully automatic machines. Ta, Kev.
Nice overview Kev, but you didn’t seem to mention anything about where the beans go or capacity? How would it / can it handle using different beans? (Eg. Occasional decaf)
What confuses the heck out of me is the grind time. I watched a couple of different videos where one said that on doppio+, the grind time is 12 seconds.
Yeah I spoke to Tom about that, Tom's Coffee Corner, we were recording very similar doses but different grind times. Weird. It sounds like some are grinding faster than others, but it doesn't appear to alter the doses.
Hi, I am trying to use "My" function for dopio+ which doesn't allow me to stop shot volume on the fly. I can not stop on 50 ml since "Stop" on the display appears only after 65-70 ml. I have tried another way without using "My" function, just start and stop brewing after 45-50 ml, but i cannot save this since there is no "Save" function on the display. Could you please explain me how i can achieve the desired shot volume and save it for the next time. Thanks
Yeah the my function does have limits on some drinks, if you use the 2x espresso instead, it's the same dose, you'll be able to stop it at a shorter volume. Cheers, Kev
@@Coffee_Kev Thank you very much for your response. Is any ways to save the settings for Dopio+ w/o using "My" function, just starting the brewing, and stop it and save it?
To be fair most are fine for lattes, my experience with the Magnifica plus though, is that the milk texture is very good, as the other DeLonghi machines with the latte crema carafe, but the one I've used, at least, was slightly hotter - and the big max dose makes bigger stronger lattes possible too.
The flat white pictured in your video thumbnail looks to be the most pale and espresso light flat white I’ve ever seen. Was there actually more than 10ml of espresso in that cup?
To be honest I'm not 100% sure which one that was that we clipped for the thumb, it may have been that I'd split a shot as I was just focusing on the milk texture, or it may be just the studio lighting making it look light. Doses are up to 17g.
Hard to keep track of all these machines lol. I will say a friend of mine has it and loves it. The cold foam function is their favorite feature. Concerned about its longevity and actual grinding capability, I did choose my own grinder and went with the Breville Bambino. However, the process requires more time and effort. Especially dialing in new beans.
@@kevdigs930 I already have a sette 270 and breville Infuser. I think I'm at that point where (given I drink mostly milk drinks) I'd like to automate things a little bit while only mildly compromising on espresso quality (so Oracle Jet, Ninja Luxe etc.)and be able to have others at home also indulge in making themselves coffee.
I’m essentially in your same boat. My heart really wants to get the Oracle Jet. But then I ask myself-if I’m comparing a $499 device to a $2,000 device, is it even really debatable? At those price points, they should not be in the same weight class, but they are. So why would I spend $2k Everything I’ve seen/read/watched, it seems the Jet has a slightly better shot, but it does not sound like it’s $1,500 better.
Hello coffee brother's please help🥺 im looking at the plus wright now but at the moment the revelia is £50 cheaper plus i have a lovely £75 voucher to spend on either i mainly drink flat white help me please 😂
I'd probably say the Magnifica Plus, personally - for flat whites. Simply because of the bigger max doses. You can get the same kind of intensity with the Rivelia but only by doing a double, in which it'll grind and pull twice. Also I found the milk just a tad hotter on the Magnifica Plus vs the Rivelia. The Rivelia does have the dual hoppers with switch mode though which is a nice feature if you often switch to and from decaf. Ta, Kev.
I'm currently drinking a coffee made by far superior equipment to this machine, to an exact ratio, brew time and temperature. However, the resulting espresso is mediocre, at best. A bean-to-cup machine is starting to look like an attractive option. 😨
Way better shot quality potential with a traditional setup, although yeah there's the potential for terrible espresso too. With bean to cup you tend to get very reliable repeatable 'ok' drinks as the touch of a button. How good this 'OK' is, seems to be improving, particularly with DeLonghi machines, and I think it has to really if bean to cup machines are going to compare with the growing numbers of assisted portafilter machines.
@@Coffee_Kev The machines do seem to be improving. Ten years ago, I had a bean-to-cup machine and it produced coffee of a similar quality to a Starbucks on a bad day. I probably just forgot to flush the group head of my HX machine, this morning and I'm now as bitter as the resulting coffee 😂
Hi kev decided on this machine after watching your review and toms .I'm using your chocolate brownie fudge whole beans what grind setting would you recommend as this is 1st coffee machine like this. ?

What setting on the lattecrema do you use for latte art. Can you make a video on latte art with super automatics?
My investigations showed that during the sales there were two versions of this machine. The expensive version included two additional options - Cortado and Cold Americano.
Yeah DeLonghi do tend to produce various versions, sometimes with slightly different drink options.
@@Coffee_Kev they actually have 3 versions of this Magnifica Plus, one with 18 beverages, which is the one I got it and I really love this machine.

Hi Kev, I am looking at this and the Jura 8E, which is a bit more pricey - do you think the extra £300 is worth it? Cheers
What would you recommend between magnifica plus and rivelia? 😊
Depends on the user, my personal fave is mag plus, but anyone who switches beans a lot would be better off with the Rivelia. Cheers
This one or Elleta explore ? Mainly drinking black coffee , milky from time to time , thank you

This or the Delonghi Rivelia? Help!! Need to make a decision for christmas!!
I'd go for this if you're not fussed about switching beans often, but if you often switch, to decaf for example, I'd go Rivelia
@ great. That’s what I’ve gone for. Thanks
Nice overview Kev, but you didn’t seem to mention anything about where the beans go or capacity? How would it / can it handle using different beans? (Eg. Occasional decaf)
Mine takes 250g but it’s not removable without tipping the machine up. They go at the back on top.
@PK-blue Thanks, yeah you're right, oops. Just a standard hopper for an auto bean to cup, as
@lyndonduke says, about 250g max, and it's not removable.

How are these for espresso quality and auto steaming milk quality compared to a Ninja Luxe superauto?
Ninja Luxe Cafe is not a superauto. Important distinction.
